> Love a Lifetime Recap
Lingxu Pavilion buzzed with festive decorations, vibrant silks, and red lanterns, as guests arrived bearing gifts. Attendants, their faces alight with joy, busily moved through the corridors, ensuring every detail was perfect. Inside, Mei Xueman helped Rong Hua prepare for her wedding. Just as Rong Hua’s bridal veil was about to be placed, a commotion was heard outside her room. Na Lanyue, impatient to see his bride, had been trying to bypass Cai, who insisted on adherence to tradition.
He eventually pushed open the window himself and personally drew Rong Hua’s eyebrows, declaring that no one could stop him from being with her. After much teasing from Cai and Mei Xueman, who secured an unconditional promise from Na Lanyue for her assistance, the wedding ceremony commenced. Na Lanyue and Rong Hua, exchanging vows amidst music and blessings, paid their respects to the heavens, their parents, and each other. However, the joyful celebration was abruptly interrupted by a distinctive whistle.
Mei Xueman immediately recognized it as a distress signal from her brother, Mei Ying, indicating that the Mei family was in grave danger. News quickly arrived that the Mei family had been annihilated by Dragon Howl City, with Mei Ying being the sole survivor, now pursued and hiding near Lingxu Pavilion. Mei Xueman, recalling Na Lanyue’s earlier promise, desperately pleaded with him for aid.
Despite Lu Yizhou’s counsel against leaving on his wedding day, Na Lanyue asserted his new responsibilities as Lingxu Pavilion’s Young Master and vowed to personally lead disciples to investigate and rescue Mei Ying. He instructed Mei Xueman to remain and manage wedding matters, assuring her that Lingxu Pavilion was now her home and he would resolve her brother’s situation. He also asked Rong Hua to wait for his return in their bridal chamber.
By the river outside the mountain, Mei Ying, severely wounded and exhausted from fighting numerous enemies, was on the verge of death when Na Lanyue arrived with his disciples, saving him just in time. Mei Ying cryptically warned Na Lanyue that Lingxu Pavilion would be next. It was then revealed that the Mei family's tragic annihilation was a strategic move in Rong Jingfeng's grand scheme.
Mei Ying, feigning escape to Lingxu Pavilion, intended to deploy smoke bombs and act as an inside agent for Dragon Howl City, ultimately aiming to destroy the Nalan clan. Mei Ying, whose face was disfigured by Mo Huan, expressed his desire for revenge against Lingxu Pavilion. Rong Jingfeng’s ambitious and Mei Ying’s ruthless plot to deceive everyone was uncovered.
Xuan Ye realized that he and Rong Su were kept in the dark, manipulated into believing Mei Ying's false escape and chase. Mei Ying detailed how the smoke and mist would provide an hour for Dragon Howl City to infiltrate Lingxu Pavilion, using defense information he had extracted from Mei Xueman. Despite Rong Jingfeng's indifference to Rong Hua's fate, Xuan Ye expressed concern that the Hall of Emptiness and Lingxu Pavilion would suffer heavy losses, allowing Mei Ying to profit.
Rong Su, acknowledging her mistake in trusting Mei Ying, declared that she had no alternative now but to fight for Dragon Howl City and find an opportunity to eliminate Mei Ying to secure her position and future. The celebratory atmosphere of Lingxu Pavilion turned into a brutal battlefield as Dragon Howl City's forces, led by the Hall of Emptiness, launched a fierce attack.
The sounds of clashing armor and blades filled the air, transforming the once-renowned sect into a scene of carnage. Amidst the chaos, Lu Yizhou, enraged, fiercely engaged Rong Su. He deliberately created an opening, allowing Rong Su to stab him in the chest, revealing his profound emotional turmoil. Rong Su, shaken, was left in shock and tears. Na Lanyue confronted Rong Jingfeng, accusing him of deceit and ambition, especially regarding the Nalan family and the Chihua Pill.
He vowed to bring justice to the martial arts world. Lin Ruohan skillfully uncovered Mei Ying's treacherous array. Mei Ying, attempting to deceive her by transforming into her late husband, Nalan Xi, was unsuccessful as Lin Ruohan maintained her composure and wounded him. Zi Yan intervened, saving Mei Ying, while Cang Qi covered Lin Ruohan's escape to a cave.
Meanwhile, Mo Huan, suffering from a severe backlash, could barely save Lu Yizhou, instructing her subordinates to rescue others from Lingxu Pavilion. She advised Lin Ruohan to stay hidden to ensure survival, explaining that Na Lanyue's fate now rested on his own. Lu Yizhou, recalling Na Lanyue's plea to protect Rong Hua, insisted on going to her rescue, willing to die if he could not fulfill his promise. Mo Huan reluctantly permitted him to go.
Rong Jingfeng, having captured Rong Hua and other disciples, tied her to a tree stump in her wedding dress, demanding to know the whereabouts of the other Lingxu Pavilion members. Rong Hua defiantly accused her father of ruthless ambition and of persecuting the Nalan family without cause. Rong Jingfeng condemned her for being foolish and betraying Dragon Howl City. He stated that Lingxu Pavilion abandoning her proved they did not consider her family.
He also claimed that Guan Buzhuo had already saved Na Lanyue and no one else would come for her. He recalled his promise to her dying mother to protect Rong Hua, urging her to confess her supposed wrongdoing. However, Na Lanyue arrived to rescue her, accompanied by Guan Buzhuo, Lu Yizhou, and disciples. He apologized to Rong Hua for being late but refused to leave his bride.
Cai ingeniously created a diversion by holding back Rong Jingfeng, allowing Na Lanyue to successfully take Rong Hua and escape with his rescuers. As Na Lanyue, Rong Hua, Lu Yizhou, and Guan Buzhuo fled on horseback, Rong Jingfeng mercilessly ordered his troops to unleash a volley of arrows, disregarding his daughter’s safety. Na Lanyue bravely shielded Rong Hua from the barrage, taking multiple arrows himself.
He endured his injuries in silence until they reached a seemingly safe area, where he collapsed from his horse. Guan Buzhuo found Na Lanyue's pulse extremely weak, fearing he had little time left. A distraught Rong Hua, heartbroken at the thought of losing him on their wedding day, begged Lu Yizhou and Guan Buzhuo to take Na Lanyue to safety in the cave. She then announced her intention to draw away Dragon Howl City's pursuing forces herself.
Lu Yizhou attempted to dissuade her, reminding her of Na Lanyue's specific instruction to protect her, but Rong Hua staunchly replied that as Na Lanyue's wife, it was her duty to protect Lingxu Pavilion and her husband, and she would not let her father continue his destructive path. She entrusted Na Lanyue's life to them and bravely rode off to lure away the pursuers.
