Love a Lifetime Episode 19 Recap
> Love a Lifetime Recap
News about Dragon Howl City's declining power and issues with the Chihua Pill has been circulating in the martial world, causing concern among Snow Union disciples who fear retaliation if Dragon Howl City discovers that Snow Union fabricated and spread the rumors. Liuli, however, assures them she is fully prepared and tells them to follow orders without question.
When a disciple reports that Xuan Ye from Dragon Howl City has been waiting at their gate for days, affecting their business, Liuli dismisses the request to meet him. Xuan Ye eventually forces his way in and attempts to secure a deal by offering a significant down payment, promising ten times the amount upon completion.
Liuli firmly refuses, citing Snow Union's strict rule against conducting a second transaction with the same customer, especially since Dragon Howl City had previously broken their trust. She makes it clear that while Xuan Ye can stay as long as he wishes, no business will be conducted. Lu Yizhou is dejected after Rong Su's departure, believing she had her reasons for leaving without a word despite their promise to live in seclusion.
Lin Jing tries to comfort him, blessing his relationship with Rong Su, but also teases him about why he fell for Rong Su's "fierce" personality. Lu Yizhou, taking offense, changes the topic. Later, Rong Hua discusses Rong Su's departure with him, suggesting she left due to her worries about Dragon Howl City. Lu Yizhou agrees, concluding that as they each have their own duties, they should not force their relationship. Meanwhile, Rong Hua is dedicated to cultivating the Chihua Pill.
In the Nalan cave, she plants the Chihua Pill seeds, watering them and talking to them, encouraging them to grow quickly and strongly, much like she adapted to Lingxu Pavilion herself. Lin Jing finds her endearing but teases her for talking to plants, to which Rong Hua asserts that all things possess spirits, and talking to them is her secret for their rapid growth. Lin Jing then asks about her internal cultivation progress.
Rong Hua proudly states that with the internal force methods suited for cold constitutions and Lin Ruohan's guidance, her internal force has significantly increased and her meridians, previously blocked by cold, have now opened. During a sparring match, Lin Jing is genuinely surprised by the power of her strike, which contained a decade's worth of energy, realizing he would have been seriously injured if her energy application wasn't still immature.
Lin Jing brushes off his minor injury, expressing happiness for her breakthrough, while Lin Ruohan insists on checking him for any hidden damage. Lin Ruohan later speaks with Lin Jing, urging him to reconcile with Jingyuan. She explains that she risked Mo Huan's detection to protect Jingyuan and others, all to preserve the Nalan bloodline and restore their reputation, foreseeing the need to ally with them against the Ling Sect and other evils.
Lin Jing understands his mother's intentions but firmly states that reconciliation is impossible unless Jingyuan abandons his murderous intent towards Rong Hua. He promises to speak with Jingyuan once he calms down. Rong Hua spots a mysterious figure flying past her room. Later, she discovers the same woman, dressed in red, inside her quarters. Unaware of her true identity, Rong Hua initially mistakes the woman for a new maid and attempts to test her martial prowess.
The woman, Mo Huan, displays unexpectedly potent and lethal moves, deliberately holding back to avoid gravely injuring Rong Hua. Impressed by Rong Hua's spirit, Mo Huan praises her unique personality, finding her far more interesting than Rong Su. She proceeds to teach Rong Hua three formidable moves, instructing her to diligently master and integrate them into her own fighting style, promising further guidance if she proves to be a quick study.
Lin Jing, having heard Rong Hua's description of the mysterious woman, immediately suspects it's Mo Huan and rushes to his mother, Lin Ruohan. Lin Ruohan, already aware of Mo Huan's presence, had subtly sent Lin Jing away to prevent a confrontation, fearing he might offend the powerful figure. Mo Huan, the Supreme Master of the Ling Sect, questions Lin Ruohan's actions, noting that Lingxu Pavilion would eventually fall under her sect's control anyway.
Lin Jing confronts Mo Huan, demanding to know her purpose for repeatedly intruding upon Lingxu Pavilion. Mo Huan deflects, claiming she was merely sparring with her "grand disciple" and noting Lin Jing's recent progress in martial arts. Lin Ruohan quickly intervenes, apologizing for Lin Jing's perceived disrespect due to his ignorance of Mo Huan's identity. Lin Jing then mockingly addresses Mo Huan as "old lady," drawing on a previous misunderstanding in Dragon Howl City where he called her "brother."
This provocation infuriates Mo Huan, who emphasizes the harsh lessons of the martial world and the importance of self-defense, reminding Lin Jing that his mother's indulgence doesn't extend to her. Lin Ruohan steps in to protect her son. Mo Huan then declares her intention to travel to Dragon Howl City to "join the fun," hinting at the possibility of Lin Jing's wedding coinciding with a funeral.
She pointedly questions whether Rong Jingfeng knows Lin Jing's true identity as a Nalan descendant, implying she might reveal this secret. After Mo Huan departs, Lin Ruohan and Lin Jing discuss her enigmatic motives, agreeing to enhance security around Lingxu Pavilion, especially concerning Rong Hua. Lin Ruohan also acknowledges her own involvement in the destruction of the Dragon Howl City flower sea. Rong Hua, knowing the precarious state of Dragon Howl City, prepares to return.
She takes Lu Yizhou to the Nalan cave to plant the Chihua Pill seeds. She explains that despite the Chihua Pill's cold nature making southern growth difficult, the seeds have miraculously sprouted there.
She entrusts Lu Yizhou with the task of regularly tending to them and using Northern Wastelands ice crystals, which he had helped her retrieve, to nourish the plants if they show signs of wilting, as a year or two for natural blooming is too long for Lin Ruohan's urgent need for an antidote. Lin Jing, having spent considerable internal force to shatter the ice crystals to accelerate the process, is present and hears her intentions.
Lin Jing vehemently opposes Rong Hua returning to Dragon Howl City alone, citing the extreme dangers on the road and the internal strife awaiting her. He urges her to give him time to devise a comprehensive plan, promising to accompany her when a safer solution is found. Rong Hua, though acknowledging the perils, insists on returning to her family, stating she cannot abandon them when her home is in crisis.
She expresses concern that Mo Huan might expose Lin Jing's Nalan identity to her father, potentially igniting a war between Dragon Howl City and Lingxu Pavilion. Lin Jing argues that the siege on Dragon Howl City is a manipulation, and her individual return won't alter the outcome. Despite their differing views, Lin Jing remains resolute in forbidding her solo return.
Recognizing his unwavering stance, Rong Hua feigns compliance, deciding to slip away secretly that night and apologize to him later after addressing Dragon Howl City's crisis. That night, Lin Jing is restless, seeing Rong Hua's silhouette leaving without a word. He is heartbroken, feeling that she perceives him as ruthless, prompting her to depart secretly.
Lin Ruohan finds him upset and explains that Rong Hua's concern for Dragon Howl City is valid, and his anger may have made her hesitant to speak. She assures him neither of them is truly at fault, as both are simply caring for each other. Lin Jing expresses his frustration, believing Rong Hua is impulsively heading towards certain doom given Dragon Howl City's dire state.
Lin Ruohan understands his concern but teases him for his "sharp tongue but kind heart," revealing she knows he secretly dispatched escorts to protect Rong Hua. She advises him to support Rong Hua's decisions rather than hinder them, urging him to provide silent protection. Lin Jing later confronts Rong Hua on her journey, playfully teasing her for running away like him.
Rong Hua reiterates her intention to return to Dragon Howl City only temporarily, promising to be back before their wedding. Lin Jing, having anticipated her departure, declares they will either face Dragon Howl City together or return together to Lingxu Pavilion. He agrees to accompany her, promising to protect her and stand before her in any danger.
He, however, warns her that his protection might not extend if Mo Huan exposes his identity to her father, to which Rong Hua assures him Mo Huan will fail. Lin Jing reassures her that he cannot ignore her home in crisis and reveals that Lin Ruohan has secretly arranged for Lingxu Pavilion disciples to provide assistance. They agree to be cautious and return to Lingxu Pavilion immediately once the crisis in Dragon Howl City is resolved, then depart together.
Meanwhile, various sect masters converge upon Dragon Howl City, where Rong Jingfeng hosts a banquet for them. A master from the Five Tigers Sect voices the general sentiment, stating they are not there to cause trouble but demand a satisfactory explanation regarding the widespread rumors about the Chihua Pill. Concerns escalate, with a master explicitly asking if the flower sea is safe and sound, fearing they will be without antidotes when the poison takes effect.
Rong Jingfeng calmly dismisses these concerns, attributing the rumors to malicious individuals coveting the Chihua Pill, who are attempting to use the situation to gain access to and steal from the flower sea. He questions why the intelligent masters would fall for such a ploy. However, the master of the Heavenly Dragon Sect proposes a compromise: if the flower sea is truly intact, Rong Jingfeng should permit one or two sect masters to inspect it.
This, he argues, would dispel the rumors, restore peace among the martial world, and resolve Dragon Howl City's precarious situation, leaving the specifics of the inspection to Rong Jingfeng's discretion. The other masters concur, believing this would bring safety and resolve the rumors.
