Yuan Zhan comforted Yuan An, assuring him that Eleventh Prince and Yuan Ling would soon bring back the Crown Prince. He offered to lead a mission to ascertain the situation of the Liang army and stabilize the invading forces. Yuan Zhan seized the opportunity to beg Yuan An to pardon Consort Yin. His sincere plea and filial piety made it difficult for Yuan An to refuse, so he reluctantly agreed.

At the border, Yuan Hao instructed Luan Fei that the Imperial Guards and the Black Armored Army were locked in a fierce and indecisive battle. If they couldn't break through, he hoped Luan Fei would survive and protect their child. Meeting Luan Fei was his greatest happiness, but now even this last happiness was about to be lost. Luan Fei gently leaned into Yuan Hao's arms, expressing her willingness to stay with His Highness, through life and death.

Yuan Hao then gave the signal for the Imperial Guards to begin the battle; he was determined to fight for survival, come what may. Zhang Shu planned to take an empty carriage to divert the Black Armored Army, but Yuan Hao insisted Luan Fei leave first, while he himself would go to divert the Black Armored Army. Luan Fei adamantly refused, determined to stay with Yuan Hao no matter what.

Yuan Hao steeled his heart and ordered his men to take Luan Fei away. Yuan Ling learned that the Imperial Guards were preparing to break out and planned to cooperate with Yuan Hao by leaving a small path for Luan Fei to escape. Just as the two armies were about to engage, Feng Qingchen finally arrived. She had been ordered to speak with the Crown Prince. Feng Qingchen knew that Yuan Ling had already intended to let Luan Fei go.

She explained the current situation in detail, eventually convincing Zhang Shu to let her meet Yuan Hao. When Feng Qingchen and Yuan Hao entered their temporary lodging, they found that Luan Fei had not left. Feng Qingchen asked to speak with Luan Fei privately. She revealed the affair between Luan Fei and Yuan Ming, blaming Luan Fei for being so reckless for Yuan Ming. Luan Fei, however, declared that she would rather die.

But if that was the case, why did she accept Feng Qingchen's medicine? That medicine was the Lychee Grass that Feng Qingchen had given her earlier, which could induce a state of suspended animation. If the antidote was taken within ten days, one would be perfectly safe. This way, there would no longer be a Crown Prince and Feng Luanfei in the world. Luan Fei told Yuan Hao about the Lychee Grass.

Yuan Hao ordered Zhang Shu to take Feng Qingchen as a hostage, and Feng Qingchen was very cooperative. Yuan Hao, holding Feng Qingchen captive, took a small path to the edge of a cliff. When they were at their wits' end, both expressed their willingness to face life and death together and took the medicine made from Lychee Grass. Luan Fei immediately vomited blood and collapsed into Yuan Hao's arms.

Yuan Hao also became gravely ill, stating that from then on, no one would be able to separate them, whether in the heavens or in the underworld. With that, they both died. Feng Qingchen was deeply worried at the sight, as these were not the symptoms that should occur after taking the Lychee Grass.

In Tiandu, before the Crown Prince's mourning hall, Yuan An looked at Yuan Hao, his son whom he had diligently raised for decades, lying peacefully in the coffin. He was heartbroken. He had entrusted the vast empire to him; how could he just let go and leave now? Yuan An then blamed Yuan Ling, who was kneeling, for bringing back only a cold corpse.

Yuan Ling, however, stated that he had failed the imperial command and was willing to accept punishment, while Zhang Shu was cast into the heavenly prison. At the Feng Residence, Prime Minister Feng similarly held Luan Fei's body, grieving profoundly. Now his only remaining daughter was gone; how could he not be heartbroken? Feng Qingchen told Yuan Ling about her conspiracy with Luan Fei.

She didn't know why the Lychee Grass had turned into a fatal poison and was full of self-reproach. Upon hearing this, Yuan Ling deduced that the problem must lie with Luan Fei. Feng Qingchen, listening to his words, suddenly realized that Luan Fei had not actually told His Royal Highness the Crown Prince about the Lychee Grass. Instead, she had intentionally led the Crown Prince to his death, likely all for Yuan Ming.

On the day of Luan Fei's burial, white silk ribbons fluttered. Prime Minister Feng shed tears before the grave, a white-haired person burying a black-haired one; even Feng Qingchen's eyes became moist. Prime Minister Feng had weathered many storms in his lifetime of officialdom, but he had lost his daughter. Luan Fei's unwavering devotion remained, ultimately undone by the word 'love'.

Prime Minister Feng scooped up a handful of earth and, with tears streaming down his face, scattered it onto the coffin, watching as Luan Fei was buried beside Xian Wu. Feng Qingchen sent a letter to Yuan Ming, inviting him to meet. At this moment, Wu Pinging walked over and advised Yuan Ming to be wary of a trap. She decided to go along to secretly protect Yuan Ming.

Yuan Ming arrived at the outskirts as agreed, but to his surprise, the one waiting there was Luan Fei; Luan Fei had not died. Although Yuan Ming was startled, he pretended to be calm and embraced Luan Fei, preparing to kill her. Fortunately, Feng Qingchen appeared in time and saved Luan Fei, allowing Luan Fei to finally see Yuan Ming's true colors.

It turned out that the Lychee Grass had coincidentally detoxified the Red-Crowned Crane poison, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince had also harbored a death wish. Luan Fei quietly walked up to Yuan Ming, merely asking him if the reason Sister Xian Wu could remain in his heart was because she had already died, thus forever remaining beautiful.

Yuan Ming, however, stated that a heart could only hold one promise, and no one in the world could replace Xian Wu. Hearing this, Luan Fei picked up a blade, expressing her willingness to trade her life for his, even if he did not love her, even if she could not melt his heart. After Yuan Ming left, Luan Fei only apologized to Feng Qingchen and then quietly departed. At the same time, all the hidden Dark Witches appeared, surrounding Feng Qingchen and the other sorceresses.
