Li Xun and Zhu Yun arrived at the company one after the other. Director Zhang Fang blamed Zhu Yun for lacking time awareness and being late, but just as he said that, Li Xun also arrived late. Zhang Fang had no choice but to begin introductions. Although small, the company was well-structured, with four people in total, each with a specific role. Even Guo Shijie, who handled design, called himself the art director.

The company’s boss, Dong Siyang, hadn’t been to the office for a long time. He was a former boxer who retired due to age and spent two years in prison after fighting on behalf of a friend. The company's two million yuan in registered capital came entirely from him. In his free time, he liked driving taxis. He was the driver who had picked up Zhu Yun that morning. When dealing with passengers, he was all smiles.

But at the office, everyone feared him. Even employees from the neighboring small company quieted down when they saw him. On his first day back, Dong Siyang pointed out everyone’s flaws. He blamed Director Zhang Fang for being incompetent and dragging out the game “Invincible Warrior” for over a year without release. He also accused Guo Shijie of doing nothing but eating, having gained weight and hiding snacks, which Dong Siyang confiscated immediately.

Hearing that Zhu Yun was a new overseas returnee, Dong Siyang didn’t show much interest, but he was very curious about Li Xun and bombarded him with questions. Li Xun didn’t want to engage and especially disliked Dong Siyang putting his hand on his shoulder. Zhu Yun, afraid they would argue, quickly answered for him, but Dong Siyang dismissed her as being disrespectful of workplace etiquette.

He then held a meeting to follow up on the progress of “Invincible Warrior,” asking who could handle the project alone. Li Xun got up and left, and Dong Siyang chased after him, yelling. Zhu Yun quickly volunteered to take over the project, prompting Dong Siyang to shift his attention to her. He assigned Zhu Yun to lead the project team, which included Li Xun, Zhao Teng, and others. Zhu Yun, Li Xun, and Zhao Teng reviewed the game.

Li Xun pointed out that the setting and characters were all wrong and needed a complete overhaul. Zhao Teng thought the project was beyond saving and suggested creating a new one. But Zhu Yun sided with Li Xun and insisted that the game’s framework and setting be redone. While she and Zhao Teng discussed the details, she deliberately had Li Xun help assemble her computer.

Watching him fumble with the hardware, Zhu Yun felt delighted—it was rare to see Li Xun look so flustered. Fang Zhijing also did a thorough investigation of Feiyang Company and reported the findings to Gao Jianhong. He emphasized that Dong Siyang knew nothing about games yet entered the industry, resulting in zero performance. Fang Zhijing concluded that Zhu Yun and Li Xun joining such a company made them both fools.

But Gao Jianhong didn’t underestimate them—he arranged for people to keep an eye on Zhu Yun and Li Xun. Xu Lina visited Gao Jianhong and offered to be the spokesperson for a game, hoping for his support. Gao Jianhong thought she wasn't the right fit for the game. Xu Lina deliberately asked what exactly was wrong with her. Left with no choice, Gao Jianhong agreed to her request.

He then brought up Li Xun and asked Xu Lina for her opinion. Xu Lina said that after spending three years in prison, Li Xun couldn’t compare to Gao Jianhong, especially since his tiny company couldn’t compete either. But Gao Jianhong didn’t believe Xu Lina was being honest. Zhu Yun bought breakfast for everyone, but Li Xun threw his portion into the trash. Zhu Yun mocked him, saying he must still love her.

Li Xun denied it and sarcastically called her delusional. Zhu Yun reminded him that they were just coworkers now. Li Xun seemed to accept that, but when he got back, he picked the food out of the trash and ate it, shocking Zhao Teng. Zhu Yun significantly altered the game, and Zhao Teng worked overtime on it. Despite the extra work, he didn’t feel she was being unreasonable—in fact, he thought the changes were good.

Li Xun felt Zhu Yun was the type who always knew exactly what she was doing and believed following her wouldn’t lead to mistakes. Zhao Teng was curious about Li Xun’s relationship with Zhu Yun. He didn’t believe Zhu Yun would pay out of pocket for a complete stranger. When Li Xun learned that Zhu Yun was covering his salary, he just smiled. Their conversation was overheard by Zhu Yun, who had just arrived for the morning shift.

That evening, it started to rain heavily as they were leaving work. Zhu Yun had no umbrella. Li Xun snatched one from Zhao Teng and pretended to walk by Zhu Yun. Zhu Yun took the umbrella from him, hoping they could leave together, but Li Xun pulled out another umbrella and smugly walked away. That night, Zhu Yun couldn’t resist calling Li Xun, but he hadn’t saved her number and hung up. The next morning, Zhu Yun confronted him.

Li Xun couldn’t pretend not to know, so he admitted it. Zhu Yun immediately took his phone and entered her number. Later, Zhu Yun returned the umbrella to Li Xun. Zhao Teng recognized it and complained that Li Xun had stolen his umbrella, causing him to catch a cold. Zhu Yun couldn’t help but laugh, realizing that Li Xun had taken the umbrella just for her. Li Xun took half a day off to buy computer parts for an upgrade.

But when he returned, Zhu Yun was already helping him with the modifications. She told him it was a special favor. While Li Xun was in the restroom, Zhu Yun peeked into the box he brought back and found the equipment was identical to what she had bought. She was secretly pleased but pretended not to know. When Li Xun came out, he claimed the box contained food and offered to take Zhu Yun out to eat. She gladly accepted.
