Pei Su was brought to meet Fan Siyuan, mocking him for always staying behind the scenes and orchestrating from the shadows. Fan Siyuan had Pei Chengyu wheeled out and accused Pei Su of being fearless but cruel, hoping to provoke the monstrous genes within him. Seeing Pei Chengyu lying there, Pei Su was unsure what Fan Siyuan had prepared.
Fan Siyuan then produced a metal ring, saying that once Pei Su’s wings had fully grown, he would use him to destroy Pei Chengyu. Luo Weizhao and the others kept pondering the situation and recalled that Pei Su had once mentioned the beginning—they found a clue related to Binhai Bay. Pei Su put on the metal ring, barely able to breathe, forcefully restraining his genetic instincts.
When Fan Siyuan stopped the control, Pei Su sarcastically criticized everyone present, saying they only wanted a scapegoat to bully, someone weak like him. He accurately pointed out everyone’s weaknesses, nearly provoking Luo Bing into attacking him. Fan Siyuan claimed that the Zhaonan Group was the root of all evil and that some sacrifices were necessary.
Pei Su brought up the deaths of Yu Bin and Dong Xiaoqing, father and daughter, accusing Fan Siyuan and the others of causing harm to more families, trying to remind everyone not to let vengeance blind them. Unable to listen any longer, Fan Siyuan shot Pei Su in both legs, causing him to fall. Fan Siyuan said Pei Su was bewitching people and urged Luo Bing and the others not to waver, claiming their revenge was close.
Luo Bing obediently walked to Fan Siyuan’s side. Meanwhile, Xiao Qiao found details on the first murder at Binhai Bay—it was about the welfare center director, Hao Zhenghua, who had been killed near Binhai Bay. Zhang Zhaolin led people to ambush Binhai Bay, killing those stationed outside by Fan Siyuan. Hearing the gunfire, Fan Siyuan laughed, saying he had already made preparations. Luo Weizhao and the others discovered that Zhang Zhaolin's first kill had also been at Binhai Bay.
Zhang Zhaolin stormed in, mocking Fan Siyuan for killing for personal gain and revealing that the "Zero Degree Project" had been launched due to the wrongful accusation of a former agent. Fan Siyuan had deliberately created a ruse to lure Zhang Zhaolin while secretly observing him via surveillance. Zhang Zhaolin listed past murders, mocking Fan Siyuan for having killed so many that he could never compare to himself.
Fan Siyuan didn’t argue and instead trapped Zhang Zhaolin in a ring of fire. To save his son, Zhang Zhaolin found a way out and charged into Fan Siyuan’s territory, demanding that Pei Su release his son. Fan Siyuan stopped him. Zhang Zhaolin pointed a gun at Fan Siyuan, who pointed at Pei Su, while Luo Bing pointed at Zhang Zhaolin. Pei Su broke the deadlock by distracting Luo Bing, giving Zhang Zhaolin a chance to kill her.
Fan Siyuan then used the opportunity to kill Zhang Zhaolin. Before dying, Zhang Zhaolin begged Pei Su to release his son, Dong Lan. As everyone else lay dead, Fan Siyuan tried to control Pei Su, ordering him to pick up a gene vial. Suddenly, Fan Siyuan's own follower jumped out to ambush him with a club, but Fan Siyuan shot him dead. He then commanded Pei Su to personally kill Pei Chengyu, promising him anything in return.
Pei Su, enduring the pain, picked up the gene vial and was about to press it when Luo Weizhao’s image flashed through his mind. He let go. Enraged, Fan Siyuan shot Pei Su and was about to finish him off when Luo Weizhao arrived just in time and captured Fan Siyuan.
After recovering from his injuries, Pei Su immediately went to see his mother, telling her that Pei Chengyu was now in a convalescent home and that he had made plans for the future. He felt he was finally free. Dong Lan then found Pei Su, accusing him of destroying his family, and pulled a dagger on him. Pei Su grabbed Dong Lan’s hand and cut his own neck, trying to let him vent his anger.
Dong Lan, frightened, dropped the knife. Pei Su sold the villa—everything was finally over. Luo Weizhao told Yang Xi the truth about Lao Yang’s death: it was Fan Siyuan who was the real murderer and had deliberately set Yang Xi up. Unable to accept the truth, Yang Xi was filled with regret and remorse. Luo Weizhao thanked his father for protecting him. For the time being, their relationship improved, and after everything they had been through, Old Luo praised him for finally growing up.
