Justice In the Dark Episode 26 Recap
> Justice In the Dark Recap
Pei Su was sick in bed. Luo Weizhao found medicine for him and suggested he exercise more in the future. In the middle of the night, Pei Su woke up and saw a glass marble rolling on the ground. He picked up the box, and when he opened it, blood gushed out, instantly terrifying him. Luo Weizhao looked at him with a strange expression, questioning what else he was hiding.
Pei Su suddenly fell, seeing Tao Ze coming over in a wheelchair, his leg amputated. A series of horrifying images plunged Pei Su into a dream, making him breathless. Luo Weizhao heard the commotion and desperately called out to Pei Su, but Pei Su trembled all over, rolling his eyes. When a coin dropped to the ground, Pei Su was finally called awake. Luo Weizhao worried about him, asking who he was imitating.
Pei Su spoke about the first time he entered the basement. He didn't remember the speaker's face, only the sentence. He wanted to trace his childhood memories through self-hypnosis. Luo Weizhao felt sad for him, believing Pei Su had not compromised with genetics, and he needed to find other clues. Pei Su knew it was too late; he couldn't wait for the Cleaners to disappear. Only by searching through childhood memories could he find clues.
Pei Su sought help, hoping he could hypnotize him, but it seemed ineffective. Luo Weizhao wanted to find a professional hypnotist, but Pei Su suggested that Luo Weizhao ask questions from an observer's perspective to try and retrieve past memories. Pei Su fell into a dream, entering the basement, hearing a conversation between Pei Chengyu and another person. He repeated their dialogue but could not see the other person's face.
That person exploited human weaknesses and planted this person in the investigation team. That person discovered Pei Su, and Pei Su felt an inexplicable pressure. Pei Su woke up blaming himself. Luo Weizhao learned that he had suffered trauma, which is why he would choke himself in his dreams. He repeatedly asked Pei Su, but Pei Su did not want to give a direct answer. Du Jia called and said someone wanted to see Pei Su.
Pei Su asked Luo Weizhao for help; he needed to see Zhou Huaijing. Zhou Huaijing thanked Pei Su for the reminder, which helped him find the truth of these years. Zhou Huaijing produced a piece of physical evidence, traceable to the scene where Zhou Yahou was killed. That year, Zhou Yahou was poisoned; it was deliberately done when no one was home.
Zhou Yahou had a fetish for young girls before he died, and he arranged all of them in the villa. Pei Su learned that the last girl Zhou Yahou kept before his death was named Su Fei. Zheng Kaifeng took her for himself, which is why there was later talk of an illegitimate son.
Zhou Huaijing didn't know the origin of Yang Bo; he only knew that Zheng Kaifeng knew Yang Bo's mother, whose mother ran a private kitchen restaurant and didn't have a remarkable appearance, but her name was Zhuo Yingchun. Pei Su was surprised upon learning this and quickly told Luo Weizhao, believing they had overlooked something crucial. He suspected Su Fei was an intermediary, helping the organization contact Zheng Kaifeng, and that Zhuo Yingchun, who appeared later, held a similar role.
Luo Weizhao speculated that Yang Bo was likely a hostage, used by Zheng Kaifeng to force Zhuo Yingchun to act. Lan Qiao guarded Lin Ming's hospital room. Xiao Hanyang returned after buying lunch and realized something from Yang Xi's words. He quickly ran to the hospital room and saw someone poisoning Lin Ming, urging him to stop. Lan Qiao seized the culprit while he wasn't paying attention.
The culprit said he was a caregiver, claiming he was instigated to kill for money, but he had not seen the employer, only their car. Luo Weizhao checked the surveillance around the culprit's residential area. Pei Su believed the Cleaners did this, suspecting the employer was highly placed, the one planted within the investigation team. Luo Weizhao looked at the surveillance photos and found this person was none other than Zhang Zhaolin.
Zhang Zhaolin's son was dissatisfied with the holiday arrangements and argued with his father. The Inspection Department received an investigation order, requiring Zhang Zhaolin to cooperate. Luo Weizhao showed the photo to Zhang Zhaolin for identification. Zhang Zhaolin lied, saying the car belonged to his younger brother. He stated that he did not abuse his power, and he was willing to accept punishment for luxurious spending, but he had a clear conscience about other matters.
Asked why he appeared on surveillance, Zhang Zhaolin said he was on his way to visit Old Yang's family and stopped by a supermarket to shop, saying Old Yang's wife and children could testify. The killer identified Zhang Zhaolin as the one who hired him, and Zhang Zhaolin was surprised. The complete recording from the phone surveillance was recovered, confirming Minister Du's innocence and Kong Weicheng's status as a martyr.
