Lin Ming lied, saying Lin Tao had offended enemies and refused to return from the island, accusing Lin Tao of being unfilial, and that the two had no contact since then. Tao Zhi saw Lin Ming wearing gloves at home.
Lin Ming took off the gloves and lied, claiming he was injured while working at a thermal power plant. Tao Zhi saw his wife, Hou Sufen, pouring water and specifically asked a few questions, but Lin Ming cursed Hou Sufen away. Tao Zhi wanted to screen his communication records. Lin Ming had a bad attitude, saying nothing was left, expressing extreme hatred for Lin Tao.

Pei Su had someone keep a close eye on Lin Ming, worrying that those chasing him would come again. Luo Weizhao blamed himself and felt guilty; he worried that Tao Zhi might never wake up.
Tao Zhi's girlfriend, Tang Ning, rushed over after hearing the news, silently weeping outside the operating room. Pei Su suspected there was an insider in the investigation team. After screening, he felt that Xiao Wu and Kong Weicheng were the most suspicious. Luo Weizhao ordered people to check their whereabouts and the police car usage records. Hou Sufen stammered and finally admitted she knew Lin Ming had committed murder, revealing that Lin Ming wanted to destroy the two trees at Lin Tao's old house.
