Luo Weizhao deliberately gave Pei Su a chance to report on the investigation. Pei Su stated that the Zhou Group had Guangyao Gene behind it, and the location involved was Xu Dongyu's wetland, the underdeveloped Thirteenth District. He believed this was not a coincidence. Pei Su drove to a hotel, thinking Yang Bo was suspicious. Yang Bo received a call; Zheng Kaifeng asked him to come to the basement.

Pei Su and Luo Weizhao watched the hotel and saw a cold chain truck pass by. They suspected Zheng Kaifeng himself was inside the truck and followed it to the underground garage to wait. Yang Bo left his room, and an investigator disguised as a hotel worker appeared, pretending to remind Yang Bo. Yang Bo was startled and left in a hurry.

The investigator quickly reported to Luo Weizhao, who couldn't understand why Yang Bo, who had been under surveillance, would suddenly act now. Yang Bo arrived at the underground garage and was forcibly pulled into the trunk. Luo Weizhao ordered everyone to act and track the cold chain truck. After several twists and turns, they finally intercepted the cold chain truck in the middle of the road. Luo Weizhao got out to arrest the people, telling Pei Su not to participate.

But Pei Su got out to wait and saw that the trunk door was not opening for a long time. He suddenly noticed the infrared device inside the vehicle and immediately suspected something was wrong with the compartment. Luo Weizhao didn't know the situation and was about to open the trunk. Pei Su thought there might be a bomb, rushed forward to save Luo Weizhao, and the bomb instantly exploded. Pei Su was seriously injured and bleeding profusely.

By the time Luo Weizhao reacted, Pei Su had already collapsed on the ground, unconscious. He ordered someone to quickly send him to the hospital. Luo Weizhao's legs were injured, and he told Tao Ze to keep a close eye on the surgery. Pei Su was sent to the hospital for emergency treatment; his condition was not optimistic. Due to cardiac arrest, the doctor issued an emergency notice for the family to be prepared.

Luo Weizhao walked over after his wounds were bandaged and stood outside the operating room, watching and praying for Pei Su to wake up quickly. Pei Su fell into a state of consciousness. He saw his mother waving at him, asking him to come and lean by her side. His mother comforted him and listened to Pei Su's complaints. Pei Su felt tired and closed his eyes, leaning against his mother. Suddenly, he heard someone calling his name.

He subconsciously got up and walked forward, but his mother wanted him to come back. Pei Su hesitated for a moment but chose the other direction. At this moment, the dream collapsed, and Pei Su finally regained his heartbeat. Tao Ze received news that Zheng Kaifeng and Yang Bo were killed on the spot.

However, the Zhou Group was involved in too many interests, and the higher-ups demanded an explanation from the investigation team, which might lead to Luo Weizhao's suspension. Pei Su remained in a coma, during which the investigation team was questioned and ultimately found to have no issues. Luo Weizhao reorganized his thoughts and compiled all the clues. With Wu Zhengyu's cooperation, Tao Ze found evidence related to the Zhou Group's money laundering.

They found bombing devices at Zheng Kaifeng's house, suspecting Zheng Kaifeng and Yang Bo conspired and ultimately killed themselves for fear of exposure. However, direct evidence against Zheng Kaifeng was lacking. Tao Ze believed someone behind the scenes was guiding them in the investigation, which reminded them of the Zhou Hongchuan case. Luo Weizhao found that Pei Su's father also died in a car accident and suspected it was related to the person behind the scenes.

When Pei Su's father was in a car accident, the person behind the scenes published a book. Luo Weizhao had seen this play before. He could imagine that Pei Su had also seen it, and it seemed the story within reflected Pei Su's experiences. He could feel Pei Su's helplessness and pain but was powerless to do anything.
