To attack the Immortal Domain, they needed to take a sea route, which would definitely require warships. Wu Geng knew that the state of Xin back then was skilled in seafaring and shipbuilding.

He wanted to return to the state of Xin to find helpers. Before leaving, Wu Geng went to see the Undying Bird. The Undying Bird told him that Shi Xing was not dead but was stubbornly unwilling to wake up. Wu Geng tried to provoke Shi Xing, and indeed awakened the competitive Shi Xing. Shi Xing blamed himself for personally killing Ming Yue and destroying the King's City. He was willing to accept punishment in this place.

However, Wu Geng believed that all of this was controlled by Xin Yuekui and not what Shi Xing truly intended. But Shi Xing kept evading, not daring to seek revenge against the mastermind.
