When Cai Sheng learned Yang Caiwei had vanished, he quietly ordered a search. Pan Yue grew anxious. Yang Caiwei was carefully looking for evidence when Pan Yue arrived to help.

Together they found the place where the Five Stone Powder was made. Cai Sheng quickly broke the door down, but Pan Yue managed to concoct explosives and blew it up, escaping with Yang Caiwei by jumping off the boat. Cai Sheng didn’t chase. According to the rules of the Life and Death House, a win was a win—he admitted defeat. Pan Yue was not the murderer; Yang Caiwei had misunderstood him, which left her feeling guilty.

But who exactly was Pan Yue? Yang Caiwei felt she couldn’t see through him, and Pan Yue thought she had changed a lot too. Looking at Shangguan Zhi, Pan Yue saw Yang Caiwei. Yang Caiwei wondered whether she could trust him enough to reveal her identity. The mastermind decided to use county office informants to monitor Pan Yue’s every move. The next morning, Yang Caiwei awoke aching all over.

Yang Caiwei inquired everywhere about the Ripple gang, and Pan Yue also searched for clues. Ah Jiang, seeing Yang Caiwei with Bai Xiaosheng, was confused and privately questioned Bai Xiaosheng about Shangguan Zhi. Bai Xiaosheng said it was Yang Caiwei who taught her the orchid knot and had tied one on Ah Jiang that day to help cover for her.

Pan Yue’s seven-day agreement with Silver Rain Pavilion was approaching, and everyone at the county office was deeply worried, wishing they could run away. The four major clans soon arrived, demanding answers. Pan Yue remained calm and ordered the killer to be brought forward.
