Li Luo awoke from the dream, immediately confronting Xing Jiu. She realized with dismay that he was never truly trapped but had orchestrated the entire dream sequence as a calculated ploy to lure them in. She accused him of using the Dream Source for his deceit, to which Xing Jiu conceded she was clever to discover the truth, but sadly, too late. Li Luo, desperate, cried out Ka Suo's name before Xing Jiu rendered her unconscious.
Meanwhile, in another part of the dream, Yan Da and Ying Kong Shi found themselves cornered by Dream Tribe guards who accused them of Princess Xing Gui's assassination. Realizing their predicament, Ying Kong Shi urged Yan Da that they must split up to ensure at least one of them had a chance of survival. As they separated, Ying Kong Shi was struck by an arrow and tumbled down a cliff.
This "death" in the dream, however, caused him to awaken in reality. He recalled the incident, relieved it was merely a nightmare, and immediately set out to find Ka Suo. In reality, Xing Jiu watched over the still-unconscious Ka Suo. He spoke to him, seeking forgiveness, explaining his actions were born of dire necessity. Xing Jiu then entered Ka Suo’s dream, weaving a blissful scenario.
In this constructed reality, Ka Suo met his dream-self of Ying Kong Shi, who playfully chided him for dozing off. Ka Suo, confused, questioned if it was real, but Ying Kong Shi reassured him that it was, and that he had successfully helped Xing Jiu awaken. Li Luo also appeared in the dream, and Ka Suo expressed profound relief that she was alive, accepting her explanation that her perceived death was only part of the dream.
Xing Jiu, present in this dream, then offered Ka Suo the Dream Tribe's One-Leaf Ice Crystal as a token of gratitude for his help. When Yan Da tried to seize the Ice Crystal, claiming it for the Fire Tribe, she was repelled by ice magic. Suddenly, Ka Suo saw his parents, the Ice King and Ice Queen, along with Empress Feng Tian.
They informed him that the Fire King had been defeated and it was time to return to City of Bladed Snow. His mother clarified that Empress Feng Tian had not been imprisoned but had sought the Mermaid Saint's aid. Overjoyed, Ka Suo and his family returned to a triumphant City of Bladed Snow. He confessed to Ying Kong Shi that his happiness felt unreal.
Li Luo, in traditional Ice Tribe attire, flew a kite, silently praying for the Ice Tribe's peace and for harmony across the three realms. Ka Suo then asked her to be his dance partner at a celebration for reclaiming the city, and as they danced gracefully on the pristine ice, sharing a kiss, their bond deepened.
As Ka Suo reveled in his perfect dream, Xing Jiu chose to leave him within it, rationalizing that it wasn't a bad fate for Ka Suo to remain forever in such happiness. He whispered an apology, hoping Ka Suo would continue his beautiful dream, and then left. Meanwhile, in the waking world, Ying Kong Shi found Ka Suo still deeply asleep.
He recognized the unusual circumstances, suspecting someone was actively preventing Ka Suo from waking, and wondered where Li Luo could be. Xing Jiu reported to the Fire King that Ka Suo was now completely ensnared in the dream, unable to awaken unless Xing Jiu released him or Ka Suo died within the dream. The Fire King, pleased, affirmed Xing Jiu as a valuable ally.
Xing Jiu then pressed for the return of the Hidden Lotus and his sister, Xing Gui, reminding the Fire King of his promise. The Fire King, however, delayed, stating they would be returned only after Xing Jiu completed a final task that night, which involved delivering Ka Suo to him. The Fire King dismissed Ka Suo as a harmless, unconscious entity.
Elsewhere, within City of Bladed Snow, Xing Gui, disguised as a maid, was stopped by a guard suspicious of an Ice Tribe spy. Empress Feng Tian intervened, covering for Xing Gui and sending the guard away. Xing Gui then confided in Empress Feng Tian, begging for help to escape the city, explaining that her frail health only allowed her to control the maid's body for a limited time.
Empress Feng Tian agreed, hoping that freeing Xing Gui would ultimately allow Ka Suo to escape her brother's manipulative dream. Ying Kong Shi eventually located Li Luo and quickly released her. They discussed how they had both awakened by dying in the dream, leading them to believe this might be Ka Suo's only path to escape. Ying Kong Shi recounted his failed attempt to rouse Ka Suo, attributing his inability to reach him to the Dream Source.
They both concluded Xing Jiu was behind the deception and decided to work together to break the Dream Source’s spell and rescue Ka Suo. Li Luo proposed a plan. Later, Li Luo, holding Xun Hao, a Dream Tribe guard, hostage, demanded he deactivate the Dream Source's spell and take her to Ka Suo.
Xun Hao explained that even if the barrier were opened, Ka Suo would not simply awaken; only Xing Jiu could rouse him, or Ka Suo would have to die in the dream, risking severe memory loss or permanent mental confusion. Xun Hao then divulged the full, tragic truth: Princess Xing Gui suffered from a chronic illness, destined to die before her 100th birthday, which was only three days away. The Fire Tribe possessed the sole known cure, the Hidden Lotus.
The Fire King had seized Xing Gui, using her as leverage to coerce Xing Jiu into employing his dream-weaving powers to unify the three realms, including entrapping Ka Suo and preventing him from obtaining the Ice Crystal. Xing Jiu then appeared, acknowledging his difficult choice. He confessed he was willing to betray the Divine Tribe for his only sister, accepting he would suffer the consequences alone.
Li Luo challenged his selfishness, but Xing Jiu insisted there was no time left for alternative solutions, with Xing Gui's life solely in the Fire King's hands. Li Luo refused to leave and demanded Xing Jiu allow her to enter Ka Suo’s dream to awaken him.
Xing Jiu warned her that as a non-Dream Seeker, she risked being mistaken for a threat and killed by Ka Suo within the dream, with repeated deaths making it increasingly difficult, if not impossible, to ever wake up. Li Luo remained resolute, declaring she would not regret her choice. Xun Hao intervened, suggesting that allowing her might be their only way to atone for their actions.
Li Luo asserted that her unwavering determination to save Ka Suo mirrored Xing Jiu's own resolve to save his sister. Xing Jiu reluctantly agreed to give her half a day, after which he would fulfill his promise to the Fire King by delivering Ka Suo to him in City of Bladed Snow. Meanwhile, in the waking world, Ying Kong Shi, unable to let Li Luo face the dangers of the dream alone, prepared to assist her.
Li Luo entered Ka Suo’s dream, finding herself in City of Bladed Snow. She saw Ka Suo happily dancing with a version of herself, a bittersweet moment of happiness that she knew was fleeting. She reminded herself that Ka Suo had to awaken to save the Ice Tribe. As she approached him, Ka Suo, mistaking her for the Fire King, attacked.
Despite her pleas to reveal her true identity as Li Luo and explain the ongoing war and Xing Jiu's trick, Ka Suo remained convinced she was an enemy and ordered her imprisoned. Inside the dream, Ka Suo discussed the "Fire King's" defeat with his dream-self of Ying Kong Shi.
Suddenly, a sound from the Sole Bamboo Leaf startled Ka Suo, making him suspicious as his dream-self Ying Kong Shi was right beside him and claimed he hadn't given the flute to anyone and that it was safely stored in his palace, Illusion Sky. The dream-self Ying Kong Shi then advised Ka Suo to rest while he searched for the flute.
In reality, it was the true Ying Kong Shi playing the Sole Bamboo Leaf, desperately trying to rouse Ka Suo and Li Luo from their deep slumber. Elsewhere, the Fire King was in his war chambers, meticulously planning his grand scheme to unify the three realms without deploying a single soldier. Prince Shuo Gang arrived in the Mermaid Tribe's territory as instructed.
He presented the Mermaid Saint with a "Ten-Scented Incense Burner," a gift from the Fire King, meant to provide warmth. Shuo Gang proposed a friendly alliance, acknowledging the Fire King's new leadership. The Mermaid Saint, valuing peace, agreed to respect the Fire King. However, after Shuo Gang requested to stay the night to tour the onshore palace, which she granted, she promptly ordered the "Ten-Scented Powder" to be discarded.
Back in the Dream Tribe, Xing Jiu called for the two Grand Elders, asking for their scepters to perform forbidden magic as per the Fire King’s demands. The Grand Elders refused, reminding him of the scepter's sacred purpose and the Dream Tribe's historical role as protectors of the magical realm. They voiced their profound disappointment in Xing Jiu's decision to betray their principles and aid the Fire King’s ambitions for the sake of his sister. When they continued to resist, Xing Jiu ordered his guards to seize them, then personally overpowered them, taking their scepters.
