Ying Kong Shi bravely volunteered to retrieve the God Devouring Sword for the Ice Tribe. He stipulated to Ice King that this mission must be kept secret from both Ka Suo and Lian Ji. Though General Ke Tuo warned him of the severe danger and the unlikelihood of success with his current spiritual powers, Ying Kong Shi saw this as an opportunity.

He declared that it would transform him from the perceived cause of the war into a hero who saved their entire tribe, an ideal outcome. Despite his reservations about the spiritual cost, Ice King reluctantly granted Ying Kong Shi's request. After receiving his orders, Ying Kong Shi went to Lian Ji's chambers to bid her farewell. He prepared ice lotus fruits for her, though she playfully chided him for always being with Ka Suo.

During their conversation, Ying Kong Shi noticed Lian Ji's tearstone necklace inexplicably glowing. Lian Ji, recognizing it as a signal from Fire King Huo Yi urging her to make a decision, quickly dismissed his observation. She sent Ying Kong Shi away, promising to eat with him the next day and assuring him that she would protect him, even if the Ice Tribe were destroyed. Unbeknownst to Ying Kong Shi, Lian Ji had made a profound decision.

After he left, she reflected that the other royal children had always looked down on him, pondering that their "good days were about to come." Meanwhile, a servant delivered the ice fruits to Ka Suo, informing him that Ying Kong Shi had already departed. Feeling confused and wondering if Ying Kong Shi was upset with him, Ka Suo played a melancholic tune on his Sole Bamboo Leaf.

This prompted Ying Kong Shi, on his journey to the Endless Cave, to recall the cherished memory of Ka Suo gifting him the magical flute made from that very leaf. Ka Suo had explained that as long as one blew on the leaf, the flute would resonate no matter the distance. Ying Kong Shi had kept the flute, and Ka Suo the leaf, making a pact that he would always come to Ka Suo if his brother played it.

Now, as Ka Suo's mournful melody reached him, Ying Kong Shi silently wished his brother would not exert himself further. He resolved not to seek Ka Suo this time, fearing that seeing his brother would diminish his resolve to acquire the God Devouring Sword. He vowed to apologize if he returned alive. Elsewhere, Li Luo, having learned of an internal spy within the Ice Tribe, raced towards the City of Bladed Snow.

Along the way, she was ambushed by Fire Tribe soldiers. Thinking quickly, she feigned knowledge of a secret passage to the Ice City castle, cunningly leading them on a wild goose chase. After an entire night of wandering through various paths, she finally saw her loyal snow lion mount, Turnip, creating an opportune moment to make her escape.

Meanwhile, Fire King Huo Yi, having learned from Lian Ji the true source of the Ice Tribe royal family's combat prowess, revealed the secret to his son, Shuo Gang, and daughter, Yan Da. He explained that Ice Tribe princes and princesses were highly skilled and resilient to the melting Ice Veil because they possessed sacred objects derived from their ancient ancestor She Mi's Prayer Beads of Wisdom.

These beads had been separated to form four bracelets, a pair of Whirl earrings, a Shore bracelet, and an Infinite ring, all of which amplified the wearer's magical abilities. Armed with this crucial information, Shuo Gang and Yan Da strategically targeted and stole these sacred objects during their skirmishes, severely weakening the Ice Tribe princes and princesses and driving them back. Ka Suo, sensing the dire shift in the battle, rushed back to the City of Bladed Snow.

There, General Ke Tuo and the guard Ji Quan informed him of Ice King’s order for Ka Suo to escape to the mortal realm to find the Six-Leaf Ice Crystal and restore the Ice Veil. Ka Suo vehemently refused to abandon his family and tribe, insisting he must return to save them. Ke Tuo pleaded with him, emphasizing that as the Ice Tribe's most powerful prince, he was their only hope for a successor and must prioritize the bigger picture.

When Ka Suo learned that Ying Kong Shi had gone to the Endless Cave to retrieve the God Devouring Sword, he immediately decided to join him, believing the sword still held the key to saving the Ice Tribe. He entrusted Ji Quan with the defense of the City of Bladed Snow to buy them time, then set off for the Endless Cave with Ke Tuo. The Fire Tribe army pressed forward, reaching the gates of the City of Bladed Snow.

The remaining Ice Tribe princes and princesses engaged Fire King Huo Yi in a desperate final stand. Fire King used his formidable Fire Sword to critically wound them. Ice King, witnessing his children's suffering, set aside his pride and pleaded with Huo Yi to spare them. However, Shuo Gang mocked him, demanding that the Ice royalty surrender to the Fire Tribe and kill their own parents to prove their loyalty, only then would they be spared.

One Ice prince defiantly denounced Huo Yi as wicked, preferring death to patricide. Fire King, enraged, prepared to inflict more pain. At this moment, Zhu Gong's wife, Qian Ying, feigned fear and surrender, approaching Fire King. As she got close, she launched a surprise attack, attempting to stab him. Enraged by her betrayal, Fire King retaliated mercilessly, killing Qian Ying and then all the remaining Ice Tribe princes and princesses.

Ice King lamented their deaths, proclaiming them the pride of the Ice Tribe and vowing that their sacrifice would expose Fire King's savagery to all three realms, ensuring that "ice will engulf fire" no matter how long it takes. With the Ice Queen gravely wounded, Ice King personally confronted Fire King Huo Yi. Their clash of immense power caused the City of Bladed Snow to crumble. Fire King proved superior, overpowering Ice King, gravely wounding him, and taking him captive.

Fire King declared his intention to rule the three realms. Meanwhile, in the Endless Cave, Ying Kong Shi discovered the God Devouring Sword. The Sword Spirit, deeming Ying Kong Shi's spirit to be lacking the "flavor of fear," plunged him into an illusion. In this terrifying vision, Ying Kong Shi witnessed Ka Suo dying, a sight that was his greatest fear. As the Sword Spirit prepared to consume his fear-filled spirit, Ka Suo and Ke Tuo arrived.

Ka Suo, seeing Ying Kong Shi's distressed state, questioned the Sword Spirit, who nonchalantly replied he had merely added "a little spice." Ka Suo quickly instructed Ke Tuo to take Ying Kong Shi to safety and then, despite their pleas, offered himself as the sword's sacrifice. Just as he prepared to engage the sword, the cave began to collapse violently.

Ka Suo, prioritizing their survival, finally agreed with Ying Kong Shi's urgent pleas to flee, and the three barely escaped the collapsing cave. Upon exiting the cave, they found themselves surrounded by Fire Tribe soldiers. Fire King Huo Yi, having ordered Ka Suo's capture and imprisonment to torment the Ice King, was leading the pursuit. Just as Ka Suo, Ying Kong Shi, and Ke Tuo were cornered, a magnificent snow lion descended from the sky.

It fiercely engaged Fire King, bravely buying precious time for Ka Suo and his companions to escape, but was ultimately slain by the Fire King's power. Returning to the City of Bladed Snow, Ka Suo found it reduced to a living hell. He discovered Ji Quan mortally wounded amidst the ruins. Ka Suo tried desperately to save him, but Ji Quan, with his dying breath, informed a grief-stricken Ka Suo that all the Ice princes and princesses had been killed.

He urged Ka Suo, his most honored prince, to "stay strong and live on." Ka Suo, heartbroken, promised to do so. After Ji Quan succumbed to his injuries, Ke Tuo, seeing the approaching Fire Tribe forces, pulled the devastated Ka Suo away from the fallen City of Bladed Snow, forcing him to continue their escape.
