Ka Suo arrived to save Lan Shang, confronting Xin Jue, who declared his intent to make Lan Shang his after defeating Ka Suo. As the fight ensued in the Forest of Snow and Fog, Xin Jue feigned defeat and then trapped Ka Suo. Xin Jue then threatened Ka Suo, stating that once he killed him, the mortal realm would belong to the Fire Tribe.
Seeing his brother in mortal danger, Ying Kong Shi, in a moment of crisis, suddenly manifested powerful magic, intervening to defend Ka Suo and gravely injuring Xin Jue. Shocked by his own actions, Ying Kong Shi asked Ka Suo, "Brother, what did I just do?"
The Fire King Fire Yi sensed Xin Jue's distress, while in the City of Bladed Snow, the Ice King was informed that stabilizing Prince Xin Jue's condition would require sacrificing a century's worth of his own magic, which the Ice King promptly did. Ka Suo and Ying Kong Shi were brought before the Ice King. Lian Ji rushed in, demanding why Ying Kong Shi was kneeling. She argued, "It was Ka Suo who went to look for Lan Shang.
It was Ka Suo who injured Xin Jue! This has nothing to do with Shi!" She emphasized that everyone in the Ice Tribe knew Ying Kong Shi possessed no magic, questioning, "What power does he have to attack the Fire Prince?" However, Lan Shang, as an eyewitness, firmly stated, "It was Ying Kong Shi who injured Prince Xin Jue!" Despite Lian Ji's protestations, the consensus was that the Mermaid Princess had no reason to lie.
Ka Suo attempted to take the blame, claiming Lan Shang was startled and mistaken, and that he was the one who injured Xin Jue, with Shi merely taking the blame. Ying Kong Shi immediately interrupted, declaring, "No, it was me. Prince Xin Jue sneaked an attack on brother and hurt him. I was furious. I don't know how, but I used magic. If you don't believe me, I can show you."
He tried repeatedly to demonstrate his newfound magic but failed, unable to conjure any spells. Ka Suo pleaded with his father to accept any punishment for himself, but the Ice King, upon Lian Ji's suggestion that Xin Jue could identify his attacker once awake, decided to imprison both Ka Suo and Ying Kong Shi on the Ice Plains, awaiting Xin Jue's recovery. On the desolate Ice Plains, the brothers shared a heartfelt conversation.
Ka Suo, concerned for Ying Kong Shi's comfort in the cold, reiterated his unwavering commitment to his brother, saying, "Brother won't say sorry. Because I must protect you." Ying Kong Shi, desiring to repay Ka Suo's lifelong protection, confessed, "To be honest, when I attacked Xin Jue, I didn't regret it. I even rejoiced. The first time I ever used magic was to save you.
If I didn't do anything then, and watched you die in front of me then I would have regretted it forever!" Ka Suo, touched by his words, thanked him for saving him. Ying Kong Shi then urged Ka Suo not to take the blame, saying, "Even if Xin Jue wakes up, someone has to be held accountable. Don't take the blame for me please." Ka Suo, weary, dismissed the conversation until morning.
While Xin Jue lay unconscious, a mysterious black mist enveloped him, causing him to suffocate to death. Upon learning his son's life lantern had extinguished, Fire King Fire Yi erupted in a furious declaration: "It must be the Ice Tribe who killed Xin Jue!" He rallied his forces with cries of "Kill, Kill, Kill!" and condemned the Ice Tribe for ruling the three realms for millions of years while forcing the Fire Tribe to live on barren land.
He vowed that his clansmen "shall not rest until the Ice Tribe's been eliminated!" and declared that at dawn, the Fire Tribe would launch its attack "to destroy the Ice Tribe and rule the three realms!" In the mortal realm, Li Luo’s subordinate reported that a clear sky bird she had brought back from the Forest of Snow and Fog had suddenly exploded. Upon inspecting the bird's remains with General Ke Tuo, they discovered evidence of fire magic.
Li Luo remarked that this, along with the discovery of Ice Tribe guards killed by fire magic after Xin Jue's trespass into the Forest of Snow and Fog, could not be a coincidence. She and Ke Tuo concluded that the only way to find out the truth was "to return to the Forest of Snow and Fog." Meanwhile, on the Ice Plains, Ka Suo realized Ying Kong Shi was missing.
While demanding to be released by the guards, Lian Ji appeared and freed him, pleading, "I originally didn't want to ask you for help, but right now you're the only one who can help. Quickly go and save him." Ka Suo then confronted what he believed was the Ice King, offering to die in Ying Kong Shi's place: "King Father, please allow me to die in place of Ying Kong Shi. This started because of me.
I should be the one to take responsibility." He realized it was a clone when the figure remained silent, deducing that the Ice King had anticipated his actions and was already at the Endless Sea with Ying Kong Shi to confront the Fire King. General Ke Tuo had warned Ka Suo that they might have fallen into the Fire Tribe's trap.
At the Endless Sea, the Ice King attempted to reason with Fire King Fire Yi, suggesting they discuss the situation peacefully. But Fire Yi was unyielding, demanding, "Then may the Ice King hand over a prince for me to kill." Lian Ji, present at the scene, desperately pleaded for Ying Kong Shi, reminding Fire Yi that "Prince Xin Jue was first at fault for blaspheming the mermaid princess. This was clearly all an accident."
Fire Yi scoffed, accusing the Ice Tribe of quibbling, and gave an ultimatum: "Hand over the killer or let all of your tribe accompany my son in death!" As Lian Ji was dragged away, still crying out for her son, Ka Suo arrived and interrupted the Ice King, who had decided to hand over Ying Kong Shi. Ka Suo exposed the Fire Tribe's true intentions, stating, "This is all part of the Fire Tribe's evil plan."
Simultaneously, General Ke Tuo, who had been investigating the Forest of Snow and Fog, arrived to report a grave discovery: "There's something hidden underneath the Ice Veil." He explained that a powerful divine being must have used magic to bore open the impervious Ice Veil, suspecting Xin Jue had orchestrated it to melt the ice. Fire King Fire Yi, aware of the discovery, remarked, "It looks like Ka Suo discovered the source of the holy fire.
But it's all too late." Just then, a swarm of clear sky birds, embedded with fire seeds by the Fire King, descended upon the City of Bladed Snow, detonating and turning the city into a fiery inferno. The Ice Veil, the city's protective shield, began to melt. The Ice King immediately ordered a city-wide evacuation and dispatched Ke Tuo to repair the Ice Veil, while he and his loyal guards prepared to engage Fire Yi in battle.
Fire Yi, standing before the crumbling Ice Veil, declared, "As the Ice Veil disappears, so shall your Ice Tribe perish." As the City of Bladed Snow was consumed by fire and explosions, Ka Suo found Ying Kong Shi trapped within an ice sphere. He quickly rescued his brother, and together they moved to save the fleeing civilians. During the intense battle, Princess Yan Da led the Fire Tribe forces, matching the Ice Tribe's valiant resistance.
Despite the destruction of the Ice Veil, the Ice princes and princesses fought fiercely. Concerned about a prolonged conflict, a Fire Tribe general advised Fire King Fire Yi to consider the battle's unfavorable outcome. Fire Yi, deciding to enact a century-old plan, ordered a temporary retreat, saying, "Looks like it's time to revisit my strategy from a hundred years ago." Meanwhile, Li Luo was buried under collapsing ice, rendered unconscious.
Ka Suo frantically searched for her, refusing to believe she was lost, saying, "No, she'll be okay. She's a realm guardian. She has a great responsibility. She wouldn't leave like this; she wouldn't." He was growing weak from overusing his magic, his hands trembling, though he tried to hide it from Ying Kong Shi who noticed his exhaustion, warning him, "Brother, you can't keep using your power. If you keep doing this, you'll exhaust your powers.
Don't try to trick me when your hand's shaking like this." Ka Suo tried to brush it off, claiming he was "only hungry." As this unfolded, Lian Ji, sensing the Fire King's summons, opened a hidden sea tunnel to meet him. There, Fire Yi revealed their shared past, saying, "We have not met for a hundred years. You're still as beautiful as before."
He provocatively stated, "Even though you are the Ice King's only consort, in your heart, there is only me. Correct?" Lian Ji, admitting her conflicting emotions, replied, "Correct. You're right. My heart indeed can't forget you, because you are the man I hate most in my entire life."
Fire Yi, testing her loyalty, produced her Teardrop Charm, which he had taken a century ago, reaffirming, "I've never dared to ascertain this before; but now, I know that you're still on my side." He then tried to manipulate her, highlighting how the Ice Tribe had mistreated her and disregarded her and Ying Kong Shi. He offered her "everything you deserve" in exchange for "the weakness of the Ice Tribe's prince and princesses."
Unbeknownst to them, Li Luo, who had just regained consciousness nearby, was observing this shocking encounter, muttering to herself, "Why would the king of the Fire Tribe be here? That woman is. . ." and "How repulsive. Who's the traitor?" Lian Ji detected her presence and warned Fire Yi, who then gave Lian Ji until dusk to deliver the information. With the Ice Veil destroyed, the Ice King and his advisors discussed solutions.
An advisor reminded them that the Ice Veil, left by Ancestor She Mi, was the symbol of their strength and its disappearance meant the Ice Tribe's end. The Ice King revealed that the Six-Leaf Ice Crystal, the essence of all living things, could fully restore the Ice Veil. However, the ancient king had divided the crystal, keeping one leaf in the Ice Tribe and entrusting the other five to leaders of the mortal realm tribes.
General Ke Tuo offered to retrieve them, but an advisor suggested Ka Suo was the only one worthy of this task among the princes. Another minister argued that retrieving the Ice Crystal would be too slow, proposing instead the immediate awakening of the God Devouring Sword.
Ke Tuo vehemently opposed this, warning that the God Devouring Sword was the "first evil sword of the world," sealed by Ancestor She Mi at great cost, and required the sacrifice of a royal's life to awaken. He emphasized, "Therefore, it must only be a last resort!" But a minister countered that in their current dire situation, the sword could save the tribe and prevent Fire King Fire Yi from conquering the three realms. As the debate continued, with no other viable immediate solutions, Ying Kong Shi stepped forward and declared, "I'm willing. Father, I'm willing to acquire the God Devouring Sword."
