Wang Zijian immediately suspected Su Qi of foul play and confronted him. Su Qi denied any involvement, challenged them to provide evidence, and blocked them from interfering with the tasting event over baseless accusations.
Lou Yuan acknowledged the severity of the situation but focused on the immediate priority: resolving the sauce shortage. Learning they only had about a half-hour's supply left and realizing Su Qi had likely bought out all local stock from supermarkets, Lou Yuan decided to have the headquarters dispatch an emergency delivery, asking his team to hold the fort.
To buy them time, Dong Dong'en announced an impromptu "president fried rice competition," featuring both company presidents cooking live for the attendees, with gift coupons as an incentive. The host then highlighted Lou Yuan's different approach: separating the egg yolk to coat the rice grains before frying, resulting in distinct, golden grains that became intensely fragrant when mixed with Peony's sauce. As the rice was distributed, Wang Zijian arrived with the emergency sauce delivery. He told Lou Yuan to handle the public-facing duties while he and the team managed the manual labor of distribution.
Su Qi's sister also arrived to support him, though he privately complained to her that Dong Dong'en's competition had jeopardized his expected easy victory. He suggested he and Dong Dong'en take the photo together to fulfill the task. Afterwards, Dong Dong'en remembered her crabs, only to find the staff had cleared them away.
