This behavior frustrated Cao Ya and clearly bothered Director of Marketing, Wang Zijian, who grew visibly jealous.
Dong Dong'en, having wrestled with her feelings, decided to prioritize her professional duties and went to report to Lou Yuan about the advertisement filming. She presented proposals from two potential directors: Director Xue, known for award-winning literary films, and Director Liu, an expert in commercials who had directed a recent popular car ad. Separately, Hai informed Dong Dong'en that she had decided to move in with Ma Chengshu. Her motivation was to support him in overcoming his mysophobia, especially since he was making significant efforts for her. Later, Hai and Ma Chengshu shared their first meal together in his home, celebrating their new living arrangement and discussing their future. Director Xue, who had previously scouted the area, agreed it was a perfect location. As they traveled, their car broke down in a heavy downpour. As Dong Dong'en searched for a signal, the insider attacked her and pushed her down a slope. Lou Yuan rushed to Xingyun Village and found an injured Dong Dong'en on the ground. He helped her into his car, gave her a towel and his mother's jacket, and chided her for venturing out alone. She explained that she had tried to call him first, but his line was busy.
Lou Yuan and Dong Dong'en then rejoined the film crew at a local farmhouse, where they learned from a resident that the rain could last for days, forcing Director Xue to revise the shooting plan. While the director met with his team, a kind local gave Dong Dong'en a military coat. She went to find Lou Yuan and discovered him surrounded by enthusiastic village women who were trying to set him up with local singles.
Dong Dong'en stepped in, offering him the coat. The women immediately assumed she was his wife, and playing along, Dong Dong'en praised her "husband" extensively, describing him as kind, thoughtful, and attentive to their amusement.
