Wangquan Fugui identified the woman Rumu was protecting as Long Weiyun, the cousin Rumu had been searching for. The Black Fox, possessing Long Weiyun, declared that Wangquan Fugui’s spiritual power was running low. The Black Fox gloated about having taken over Long Weiyun’s body, expressing its determination not to give up such a valuable tool.

It challenged Wangquan Fugui, questioning if he would truly remain without hatred if it used Long Weiyun’s body to kill his beloved, Qing Tong, and his cousin, Rumu. The possessed Long Weiyun then targeted Rumu, declaring she would kill him first. Rumu fought back, telling her that while he wouldn't have minded dying in the past, he would not allow it this time.

Wangquan Fugui explained that he had only temporarily trapped Long Weiyun in a barrier and that she needed to purge the Black Fox's demonic aura from her body herself. Qing Tong offered to use her spider silk to enter Long Weiyun’s consciousness and wake her, and Wangquan Fugui urged her to be careful. Inside Long Weiyun’s consciousness, Qing Tong found her sitting alone under a ginkgo tree, repeatedly muttering, "I don't want to owe you."

Long Weiyun held Rumu’s spirit tablet, lamenting that she couldn't find a way to save him and feeling she owed him too much. Qing Tong realized she couldn't physically touch Long Weiyun in this state. From outside, Wangquan Fugui urged Qing Tong to hurry.

Qing Tong then remembered a poem Wangquan Fugui had taught her that contained Rumu's name, recalling his explanation of its meaning: if a flower has basked in the morning dew, it can die at dusk without regret, signifying that beautiful experiences make the length of life irrelevant. Qing Tong shouted to Long Weiyun that Rumu was not dead and had never hated her.

She repeated the poem, emphasizing that as a True Dragon, Long Weiyun’s emotions should not be controlled by an evil entity. Long Weiyun finally stirred, realizing Rumu was alive and didn't hate her, calling him a fool. She accepted Qing Tong’s help, declaring that her emotions would not be swayed by an evil creature, and forcefully expelled the Black Fox’s demonic energy from her body.

Wangquan Fugui then contained the Black Fox, a clone of a being called "Madam" born from hatred, within a small sphere. The Black Fox scoffed that it had no physical form and couldn't be caught, taunting Wangquan Fugui about his father and the eternal nature of hatred. Back at their dwelling, Rumu asked Long Weiyun why she had been possessed.

She explained that while desperately searching for a way to save him, the Black Fox offered a solution: using Wangquan Fugui’s sword meridian to reconnect Rumu’s broken meridians. Knowing Rumu would never accept such a sacrifice from his cousin, a voice inside her suggested killing Wangquan Fugui to force Rumu to accept the cure, thereby settling her debt. This desperation allowed the Black Fox to possess her.

Rumu tried to reassure her of his love, but Long Weiyun coldly rejected him. She stated that her deep hatred for Quan Jingting, Rumu’s deranged father, for what he did to her mother, made Rumu’s affection unbearable. Concluding that some rifts could not be bridged, she asked him to let her go. Long Weiyun then promised Wangquan Fugui a favor, giving him a dragon scale as proof and vowing to fulfill any request before departing.

After Long Weiyun left, Qing Tong asked Wangquan Fugui if Quan Jingting’s death would resolve the conflict. Wangquan Fugui replied that there was another way, but the time was not right. Suddenly, a gravely injured Steward Fei arrived. He gave Wangquan Fugui the Wangquan Sword and informed him of Wangquan Hongye's dire situation before collapsing. Wangquan Fugui tried to heal him, but Steward Fei revealed he had sealed his own death acupoints to escape and was beyond saving.

Heartbroken, Wangquan Fugui tearfully promised the dying steward that he would rescue his father and restore justice to the Yiqi Alliance. Grief-stricken, Rumu offered to take the Black Fox to the Yiqi Alliance. Wangquan Fugui refused, explaining that only his Eastern spiritual blood could suppress it.

When Rumu insisted he would handle the rest, Wangquan Fugui confronted him, correctly deducing that Rumu intended to die with Quan Jingting to free Long Weiyun from her emotional burden and atone for his father's sins. Telling his cousin it was not his fault, Wangquan Fugui sealed his acupoints to stop him. He instructed Qing Tong to take the immobilized Rumu to the Cold Pool and then return, reassuring her that he had arranged for reinforcements and would return safely.

Meanwhile, Quan Jingting’s subordinates mocked Feng Tingyun and Wangquan Hongye’s other loyal disciples in the Yiqi Alliance hall. Their spiritual power had been sealed and they had been starved for five days, yet they refused to yield. Wangquan Fugui arrived, released them, and learned that his father was held in the Sword Tomb. He instructed Feng Tingyun to await the reinforcements he had summoned. Wangquan Fugui found Wangquan Hongye severely wounded and chained in the Sword Tomb.

He expressed regret for his delay, broke the chains, and helped his father to the main hall. Wangquan Hongye initially doubted their chances, but his son urged him to trust him. As they entered the main hall, their allied families arrived, followed by a furious Quan Jingting. He accused Wangquan Hongye of treason for recalling Wangquan Fugui, a supposed traitor. After Wangquan Hongye reasserted his authority as Chief, Wangquan Fugui confronted Quan Jingting, who vehemently denied the Black Fox's existence.

In response, Wangquan Fugui produced the sphere and unleashed the Black Fox's true form, exposing Quan Jingting's lies. Enraged, Quan Jingting attacked. During their battle, Wangquan Fugui's Dongfang spiritual power overwhelmed Quan Jingting, forcing him to reveal his own demonic aura and proving he was the true demon. The Black Fox escaped during the chaos and taunted that if the Yiqi Alliance couldn't serve Madam, then everyone would die. Wangquan Fugui unleashed the legendary Heaven-and-Earth Strike, destroying Quan Jingting.

The Black Fox gloated that this meant Madam could now be revived, then fled. However, the crowd turned on Wangquan Fugui. They feared him, recalling a prophecy by the Third Young Master that whoever mastered the Heaven-and-Earth Strike would bring calamity upon the world. Wangquan Hongye defended his son, reminding them that he had just saved them all, but the other family heads, while acknowledging Hongye as Chief, knelt and implored him to punish his son for the greater good.

To spare his father an impossible choice, Wangquan Fugui declared that the Wangquan family would not fail the world. He then willingly severed his own sword meridian, stating he would eliminate this future threat himself.
