Ye Qianyu’s first day at Senwell was a celebrated event in Guanmei Fishing Village. Mama Jinzhi expressed pride in how professional Ye Qianyu looked in her new suit, while Sheng playfully teased her about her "wild nature" being hidden by the outfit, adding that as long as she didn't speak, her true nature wouldn't be exposed. The Master Chef, with Sheng's help, prepared special dumplings for her, wishing her good luck and a smooth journey.
Mama Jinzhi also urged Ye Qianyu to study hard, reminding her that the future of Guanmei Inn rested on her shoulders, and asked Taichu to take good care of her, as it was her first time working so far from home. Taichu reassured Mama Jinzhi he would. Ye Qianyu, feeling confident in her new attire, asked Taichu if she looked presentable, to which he replied that confidence was her best armor. Taichu then drove her to Senwell.
At Senwell, Fan Yunyi shared her concerns with Shan Junhao. While GQ Ventures' funds had arrived, they still harbored doubts about the Guanmei project, which was why Taichu, a trusted figure by GQ, had been sent to supervise. Fan Yunyi worried about potential disagreements between Taichu and Senwell, but Shan Junhao assured her he would handle any issues.
Meanwhile, Zhang Minghan had been reinstated as Deputy General Manager after being cleared of suspicions regarding Shan Junhao's kidnapping, stating his loyalty to Senwell and disassociating himself from the actions of Director Qiu and Director Lin. The meeting commenced with Shan Junhao, Taichu, and their teams. Shan Junhao was surprised to find that Ye Qianyu was Taichu's assistant.
He immediately challenged her presence, stating that Senwell’s assistant hiring standards required a master’s degree, overseas study experience, and at least three years of work experience in listed companies, none of which Ye Qianyu met. Taichu defended her, explaining that she was his special assistant, and his criteria focused on a candidate's ability to learn, not just diplomas.
He also emphasized that as the meeting was about the Guanmei Fishing Village project, it was essential to have a representative who understood the village, and Ye Qianyu was uniquely qualified for that role.
During the meeting, Ye Qianyu struggled to keep up with the technical jargon used by the corporate staff, such as "VI" (visual identification), "MI" (mind identification), "BI" (behavior identification), "SWOT" (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats), and "BEP" (Break-Even Point), often needing Taichu or Zhang Minghan’s assistant, Zhao, to explain the terms.
When asked for suggestions on the Guanmei project's visual identity and slogan, she proposed using a cute Chinese white dolphin image and a simple slogan like, "If you want to see white dolphins, go to Guanmei Fishing Village." Shan Junhao dismissed her ideas as simplistic, while Taichu argued that simplicity could be effective if it conveyed the company's vision and the village's image, citing examples like McDonald's and Nike.
Zhang Minghan then criticized her meeting minutes for being unprofessional compared to others. During a short recess, Ye Qianyu offered to get coffee for everyone, but only Taichu was receptive to her gesture. While serving the coffee, she accidentally spilled a cup on Fan Yunyi's laptop, which Fan Yunyi claimed contained un-backed-up files for an upcoming meeting. Shan Junhao sternly reprimanded Ye Qianyu, calling her a "disaster," while Zhang Minghan sarcastically remarked on the "surprises" she would bring to Senwell.
Although Fan Yunyi publicly took the blame and offered to rewrite the files, other staff members gossiped about Ye Qianyu’s clumsiness. Feeling remorseful, Taichu apologized to Ye Qianyu for not adequately preparing her, but she insisted it was her own fault for not being good enough. Taichu, however, reassured her that he would always support her at Senwell. Fan Yunyi then approached Taichu and Ye Qianyu, once again apologizing for the laptop incident.
She subtly suggested that Ye Qianyu be temporarily assigned to Senwell’s Administration Department for professional training, offering to put her under the best manager, believing it would help her become a more capable assistant for Taichu. Taichu initially declined, stating he could train his own assistant. However, Ye Qianyu, eager to improve herself and avoid being a burden to Taichu, interjected and accepted the offer, emphasizing her desire to grow and be qualified for the job.
Seeing her determination, Taichu agreed to support her decision. Ye Qianyu thanked Fan Yunyi and asked her to lead the way to the Administration Department. At the Administration Department, Ye Qianyu witnessed the strict manager, Ada, severely punish an employee for being two minutes late by docking a month's bonus. Fan Yunyi then introduced Ye Qianyu to Ada, asking her to train the new assistant.
Meanwhile, Xu Ziqian confronted Fan Yunyi, revealing that he knew she had backed up files from the morning's incident and that her real motive for sending Ye Qianyu to Administration was to limit her contact with Shan Junhao regarding the Guanmei project.
Ada, after reviewing Ye Qianyu’s unimpressive resume, which listed her education as "Guanmei Community College" and her prior experience as a tour guide, delivery person, courier, and food delivery person, and noting her lack of foreign language skills ("hello, does that count?" ), assigned her the most basic role: a cleaner. Ada emphasized the importance of the cleaning job for Senwell's 5A office building image, stating that a truly capable person learns from every small task.
Ye Qianyu, despite her initial surprise, vowed to work hard. Later, while on a phone call with Sheng, who was with Mama Jinzhi, Ye Qianyu confidently declared that she might become rich herself and wouldn’t need to marry a wealthy man, much to her mother’s dismay. When it was time to clean the General Manager's office, Ye Qianyu, hoping Shan Junhao had left for the day, entered quietly. To her surprise, he was still there.
She tried to clean without disturbing him and accidentally got her blouse wet while using a sprinkler. Shan Junhao recognized her, though she was wearing a cleaner's uniform, and, without much comment, handed her one of his shirts to change into, telling her to leave quickly once finished. As she cleaned, Ye Qianyu observed Shan Junhao's constant frowning and advised him to be happier, saying his serious demeanor scared people away.
That evening, Fan Yunyi came to Shan Junhao’s office, intending to wait for him to finish working late. However, Shan Junhao, prioritizing going home for the first time, decided to leave early with Fan Yunyi because he was worried that if Fan Yunyi stayed, Ye Qianyu wouldn't be able to finish her cleaning and go home.
Ye Qianyu, left alone, briefly imagined herself in Shan Junhao’s chair, reprimanding imaginary employees, before Taichu appeared, having waited for her to take her to dinner. He was concerned she hadn't eaten all day. They went to a hotpot restaurant, where Taichu, unable to handle spicy food, still allowed Ye Qianyu to enjoy her meal. During dinner, Taichu gently inquired about Shan Junhao’s shirt in her bag.
Ye Qianyu explained it was a loan after she accidentally wet her blouse while cleaning his office, and she planned to dry clean it before returning it. When Taichu once again brought up his meteor shower confession and asked about her feelings for him, Ye Qianyu admitted she wasn't ready, and Taichu patiently affirmed he would wait, saying that because of her, waiting would also become happy and blessed.
The next day, Ye Qianyu continued her cleaning duties, facing criticism from Ada for missing spots on the bathroom floor. Zhao, Zhang Minghan’s assistant, offered her a list of common English jargon to help her learn, which Ye Qianyu gladly accepted. Later, Fan Yunyi and Shan Junhao discussed wedding plans.
Fan Yunyi dreamed of a romantic ceremony at a Tuscan castle or Helena Bay, but Shan Junhao, prioritizing convenience and company promotion, suggested they hold it at the Senwell Hotel, to which Fan Yunyi reluctantly agreed, acknowledging the company's recent busyness. Xu Ziqian presented Shan Junhao with a confidential report on branch operations and plans, emphasizing the need for secrecy to counter a rival company, Marv.
Fan Yunyi then voiced her opinion to Xu Ziqian that Senwell’s stagnant state was why Marv gained an advantage, but believed the report's plan, if executed discreetly, could catch Marv off guard. Xu Ziqian stressed the importance of confidentiality for this report. Later, Ye Qianyu returned to Shan Junhao's office, assuming he had left, only to find him still working. He gave her fifteen minutes to clean.
Fan Yunyi then entered the office, surprised to see Ye Qianyu working as a cleaner. She expressed concern that Taichu would be upset, offering to reassign Ye Qianyu. However, Ye Qianyu insisted she was learning a lot and wanted to continue, also assuring Fan Yunyi that she wouldn't tell Taichu. Fan Yunyi then noticed Shan Junhao's shirt on the desk.
Ye Qianyu explained she had returned it, but Fan Yunyi commented that Shan Junhao never wore clothes worn by others, implying Ye Qianyu could keep it. After Fan Yunyi left, Ye Qianyu, still cleaning, inadvertently used the vacuum cleaner to scatter confidential documents on Shan Junhao’s desk, failing to notice a crucial paper blown away by the force.
