> Eternal Love Recap

One night, as Bai Qian pondered how to help Yuanzhen overcome his mortal tribulation, Ye Hua suddenly appeared in her room. With a warm smile, he told her he had missed her terribly in the past few days and asked if she felt the same. Startled by his direct words, Bai Qian was flustered. Ye Hua, noticing her shyness, sat on the edge of the bed and patted the spot beside him, inviting her to join him.

After a moment's hesitation, Bai Qian sat down. Ye Hua then shared crucial news with Bai Qian: Yuanzhen's mortal father was none other than Emperor Donghua, who was undergoing a mortal trial. Donghua had actively requested to undergo this mortal tribulation. Bai Qian was surprised, realizing it was the very Emperor her niece, Fengjiu, harbored unrequited feelings for. Ye Hua cautioned her that while assisting Yuanzhen, she must be careful not to interfere with Donghua’s fated tribulation.

Bai Qian's heart grew heavy, realizing this task would be far from easy. A strong wind rattled the windowpanes. As Bai Qian rose to close the window, she turned back to find Ye Hua had already removed his outer robe and prepared the bedding. He gently asked if she preferred to sleep on the inner or outer side of the bed. Embarrassed, Bai Qian suggested she would sleep on the floor.

Ye Hua chuckled, remarking that the outcome would be the same whether she slept on the bed or the floor, then playfully suggested she might be "half-heartedly refusing, but also half-heartedly willing." Bai Qian quickly interrupted, assuring him she was merely concerned about the bed being too small for him and that she was accustomed to sleeping on the outside. Thus, they settled into bed, one inside and one outside.

Lying in bed, Bai Qian found herself unable to sleep, feeling a mix of embarrassment and novelty at sharing a bed with a man for the first time, even if he was her future husband. Ye Hua softly asked if she wanted him to hold her while she slept. Bai Qian reacted instinctively, scrambling towards the edge of the bed and promptly falling onto the floor with a thud.

Ye Hua laughed, got out of bed, and helped her up, teasing that he knew she was a restless sleeper and that’s why he wanted to hold her. Bai Qian quickly attributed her fall to the bed being too small. Once they were back in bed, with Ye Hua protectively positioning Bai Qian on the inner side, Bai Qian was still too flustered to sleep. Ye Hua then casually asked if she knew Divine Monarch Si Yin.

Bai Qian's heart skipped a beat, but she feigned ignorance, replying that she had heard of him but never met him, adding that he had reportedly disappeared with High God Mo Yuan. Ye Hua sighed, remarking that he had expected her to know more. He then revealed that Winged Monarch Li Jing had recently obtained a portrait of Divine Monarch Si Yin and was searching for him.

Ye Hua added that when he saw the portrait, he was struck by its resemblance to Bai Qian dressed as a man. Bai Qian quickly dismissed it as a coincidence, urging him to sleep. After she drifted off, Ye Hua softly kissed her eye. The next morning, Ye Hua, in high spirits, sat at the table and asked Bai Qian to tie his hair for him, as he needed to appear presentable for a meeting with Heavenly Monarch.

Bai Qian, surprised he was asking her, meticulously styled his hair. As she finished, Ye Hua started to say, "You used to…" but trailed off, choosing not to finish the sentence. Though curious, Bai Qian did not press him. Ye Hua then gave her a string of beads, instructing her to wear them for protection, reminding her that with her magic sealed, she was as vulnerable as a mortal. Bai Qian could only hope the mortal tribulation would conclude swiftly.

Before departing, Ye Hua paused, mentioning he had been too preoccupied with "proper business" last night to explain the plan. He then detailed his solution for Yuanzhen's tribulation: on June 1st, Bai Qian should find a way to keep Yuanzhen occupied, then have someone push Emperor Donghua into the river. Donghua would then naturally save the beauty, leading to a fated encounter where they would fall deeply in love.

This way, Yuanzhen would be freed from his love tribulation without disturbing Donghua's fate. Bai Qian found this to be an excellent solution. Reflecting on Ye Hua’s words after he left, Bai Qian pondered what "proper business" he could have been referring to, as nothing from their night together seemed particularly serious. Nevertheless, she was relieved by his plan to help Yuanzhen. Now, she just needed to find a suitable person to push Emperor Donghua into the water.

Bai Qian realized she should check on Fengjiu. She encountered Yuanzhen just as she was leaving. Using her role as his Daoist teacher to test his attentiveness, Bai Qian inquired about a Noble Lady Chen in the palace who had a phoenix flower birthmark on her forehead, confirming that it was indeed Fengjiu. After sending Yuanzhen away, Bai Qian had a palace maid guide her to Fengjiu's secluded courtyard. Inside, she found Fengjiu sitting dejectedly by a fish pond.

Seeing her beloved niece looking so frail from her efforts to repay a debt of gratitude, Bai Qian’s heart ached. She called out softly, "Young Jiu, Auntie is here to see you." Fengjiu immediately rushed into Bai Qian's arms, crying and pleading with terror, "Aunt, please don't take me away! I love him; I cannot be without him!" Observing Fengjiu's distraught state, Bai Qian suspected she had used the Green Hill's forbidden "Two Lives Spell" on herself.

Bai Qian swiftly rendered Fengjiu unconscious and instructed the servants to take her to her room to rest. Realizing Fengjiu would need time to compose herself, Bai Qian decided to return to her own quarters and await Fengjiu's initiative. Later, during dinner, Fengjiu, looking somber, came to Bai Qian's room and knelt, seeking forgiveness. Bai Qian confirmed her suspicion, asking if Fengjiu had indeed used the Two Lives Spell.

Fengjiu, blushing, admitted it, explaining that she had ventured into Emperor Donghua's dream to discover his mortal desires. She learned that this incarnation of Donghua, far from seeking wealth or power, yearned only for a sincere heart. Bai Qian expressed surprise at how "tacky" Donghua's mortal wish seemed.

Fengjiu explained that she had initially intended to withdraw once Donghua met his destined lover on June 1st, as predicted by Si Ming, but found herself unable to express her true feelings as Noble Lady Chen. Thus, she had resorted to the Two Lives Spell, allowing her to passionately feign love during the day, while being freed from its effects at sunset. Bai Qian, concerned, asked if Donghua had taken advantage of her.

Fengjiu quickly shook her head, assuring Bai Qian that the Emperor had only visited her Lotus Courtyard once and left shortly after. As Bai Qian saw Fengjiu out, Zhe Yan materialized in mid-air. Bai Qian joked about her Purple Bamboo Garden being an auspicious place, attracting so many immortals in one night. Zhe Yan then revealed that Ye Hua had sought him out the night after Bai Qian attended the Eastern Sea feast, inquiring about her whereabouts 300 years ago.

Zhe Yan had informed him that Bai Qian had entered seclusion after her battle with Qing Cang. Expressing his concern about Bai Qian’s marriage, Zhe Yan asked if it might fall through. Bai Qian, recalling Ye Hua's recent tenderness, reassured Zhe Yan that she believed it would be fine, assuaging his worries. After leaving Bai Qian, Zhe Yan returned to Peach Blossom Forest, only to be hastily pulled by Bai Zhen towards the Western Sea.

Bai Zhen explained that he had recently encountered Die Feng, the Second Prince of the Western Sea, in the mortal realm and they had quickly become close. Die Feng seemed deeply troubled, and upon inquiry, Bai Zhen learned it was due to his elder brother, the First Prince (Die Yong).

Six hundred years prior, the First Prince's already frail health had suddenly worsened, defying the efforts of countless healers, even the Heavenly Tribe's Medicine King, who concluded the illness was not physical. Zhe Yan accompanied Bai Zhen to the Western Sea and, upon examining the First Prince, gasped in astonishment, wondering aloud how such a condition could exist.

He informed the Water Monarch that the Prince's life was not in danger but that he needed a few days to understand the mysterious illness before he could offer a cure. As June 1st rapidly approached, Bai Qian still hadn't found the right person to push Emperor Donghua into the water. By chance, Shao Xin, missing her son, secretly visited Yuanzhen in the mortal realm and wept as she watched him from afar.

Bai Qian approached Shao Xin and shared her plan: she needed someone to discreetly position themselves near the Emperor and, after the beauty fell into the water, push the Emperor in. Shao Xin initially volunteered but quickly realized her pregnancy made it too dangerous. She suggested her husband, Sang Ji, as the most suitable candidate. Finally, June 1st arrived. The Emperor, surrounded by his concubines and Yuanzhen, watched a performance by the riverside.

Ye Hua, concerned for Bai Qian's safety, arrived with Si Ming to discreetly observe the events. Bai Qian, following her plan, summoned Yuanzhen away under the pretense of discussing advanced Daoist principles. Suddenly, a giant roc bird swooped down, snatching a beautiful maiden from the bank and dropping her into the river, causing widespread panic. From his hidden position, Sang Ji promptly pushed the Emperor into the water.

However, Bai Qian had overlooked one critical detail: this mortal incarnation of Emperor Donghua was a terrible swimmer. Seeing the Emperor struggling, Fengjiu, bound by the Two Lives Spell, instinctively leaped into the water to rescue him. In the ensuing chaos, someone covertly pushed Bai Qian into the river. Fortunately, Ye Hua was present and quickly saved her. Bai Qian expressed concern that Ye Hua might suffer a backlash for using his powers in the mortal realm.

Ye Hua, ensuring her safety, reassured her that her well-being was all that mattered, deeply moving Bai Qian. Si Ming then confirmed to Bai Qian that both Donghua and Fengjiu were fine, as this turn of events aligned with their original tribulation. He added that Fengjiu would fulfill her wish in a few months.

It was revealed that the person who pushed Bai Qian was Princess Miao Qing, who had been instigated by Su Jin to teach Bai Qian a lesson. When Miao Qing reported her failure to Su Jin, explaining that Ye Hua had rescued Bai Qian, Su Jin realized the situation could implicate her.

Feigning anger at Miao Qing's recklessness, Su Jin internally plotted a foolproof scheme to avoid repercussions and manipulate Miao Qing into becoming Ye Hua's woman, using the upcoming celebration as a distraction to cover up the incident.
