Xia Tian questioned Xu Zehao about why he struck. He defended himself, explaining that if he hadn't reacted, Guan Xin would have ended up in the hospital, and chided Xia Tian for hitting him with her high heel without asking for his side of the story.
Guan Xin then admitted he initiated the fight and advised Xu Zehao to avoid future altercations in front of Xia Tian. Xu Zehao readily agreed to face him anytime. Later, as Guan Xin drove Xia Tian home, he remained upset, resisting her attempts to charm him. He told her that nothing she could do would calm his anger immediately.
However, when Xia Tian started crying, Guan Xin immediately softened, comforting her and promising to keep his phone on all night in case she had nightmares. Xia Tian then asked why they fought, and Guan Xin claimed Xu Zehao had called her stupid and lazy. Xu Zehao, meanwhile, privately fumed over Xia Tian's treatment of him, comparing it to her past concern when he was injured.
Xia Tian and Xiao Song discussed Xu Zehao, with Xia Tian jokingly explaining that "EX" was short for "E Xin," meaning disgusting. Infuriated by Xia Tian's perceived favoritism towards Guan Xin and her warnings, Xu Zehao vowed to demonstrate what a true "client" was. He abruptly changed the meeting location for the guesthouse project to his own company, giving Xia Tian only twenty minutes' notice and stressing that it was a non-negotiable directive.
Xia Tian and Xiao Song found his behavior childish, and Donghao commented that such actions were typical male animal instinct when two men vied for the same woman. During the meeting, Xu Zehao deliberately picked apart Xia Tian's design proposal, which focused on preserving the old house's original layout, using old elm wood, and incorporating healing themes for each room.
He dismissed her concept as "showy but not practical" and "paper talks," questioning the rising cost of raw timber and the perceived "cheap and low-end" feel if materials were inferior. He also challenged the feasibility of mass production for individualized room themes. When Xia Tian tried to defend her budget, Xu Zehao scrutinized labor costs, suggesting her studio cover the difference and threatening to terminate their cooperation if future proposals weren't up to his standards.
Xiao Song expressed frustration at his capitalist mindset, which prioritized profit over their initial "ingenuous" vision. Later, Donghao tried to reassure Guan Xin that Xu Zehao wouldn't fire Xia Tian since the contract was signed, but Guan Xin, worried about the repercussions of his fight with Xu Zehao, insisted that Donghao keep a close eye on Xu Zehao to ensure Xia Tian wasn't unfairly treated.
Exasperated by Xu Zehao's persistent nitpicking and disrespect, Xia Tian challenged him to a game of ping-pong, declaring that the winner's proposal would be adopted. Xu Zehao scoffed at her confidence, but Xiao Song quickly texted Donghao for help, who arrived with Guan Xin. Xu Zehao mocked Xia Tian for bringing "somebody to help," suggesting she intended to engage in "relay battles."
Guan Xin confidently declared he was "good enough to beat" Xu Zehao alone and would play on Xia Tian's behalf. The match began with Guan Xin initially playing gently, leading Xu Zehao to boast. Guan Xin then challenged Xu Zehao's "simple smash," implying Xu Zehao wouldn't be able to handle a "gentle ball." Guan Xin eventually won the match point. True to his word, Xu Zehao accepted Xia Tian's proposal, though he cautioned her to make it "perfect." Despite the ping-pong loss, Xu Zehao, to his staff's surprise, decided to personally cover the significant excess in Xia Tian's approved budget, all while continuing his ping-pong practice. The next morning, he arrived at Xia Tian's studio with breakfast, finding her asleep at her desk after working through the night. After Xia Tian looked in the mirror and commented on her "dark circles," Xu Zehao playfully teased her about staying up late, joking about needing a hair transplant himself.
He questioned why she wasn't working at his company, and Xia Tian explained that her design work required her to examine wood samples, which was more convenient at her studio than at his office. She confirmed she would attend the final report. As Xia Tian began to explain her ideas for subtly incorporating smart features, Xu Zehao simply stared, seeming distracted. Annoyed, she asked him to leave.

Excited by Xia Tian's supposed lunch invitation, Xu Zehao promptly canceled all his meetings for that day. The next day, Guan Xin, having not received any message from Xia Tian, arrived at her studio. Xiao Song informed him that Xia Tian had already left for "their usual restaurant" for a date with him. Simultaneously, Xia Tian, dressed up, waited at Haitian No.1 and was surprised when Xu Zehao arrived instead of Guan Xin. Realizing her mistake, she apologized for sending the "baby" text to the wrong person.
