> The Journey of Chongzi Recap

Chong Zi, trapped within the desolate Land of Tribulations, found herself confronting Wan Jie, who held the formidable demon sword. Despite her pleas for freedom and attempts to appeal to his past identity as the "Mr. Immortal" in white, Wan Jie remained unyielding, asserting she could neither destroy the sword nor escape.

Chong Zi, however, shrewdly deduced that he was acting under duress, likely threatened with Gong Keran, a theory Wan Jie implicitly confirmed before warning her not to meddle in his affairs. Meanwhile, an anxious Luo Yinfan confided in Yu Du, worried that Wan Jie, no longer the Chu Bufu of old, might exploit Chong Zi's evil breath. Yu Du attempted to reassure him, explaining the Land of Tribulations' impenetrable defenses.

Separately, Zhuo Yao, furious with his son Zhuo Hao for attempting to rescue Chong Zi from the Demon Palace, grounded him, deeming his efforts reckless and reminding him that Chong Zi's fate was not his to determine. Back in the Land of Tribulations, Chong Zi observed Wan Jie returning with injuries. Acknowledging his intent to merely trap, not harm her, she offered him care and compassion.

She brought him water and affectionately called him "Uncle," a gesture Wan Jie initially dismissed but ultimately tolerated. During this time, Luo Yinfan unleashed the powerful Earthshock Spell, desperately attempting to locate Chong Zi. The Land of Tribulations shuddered violently, and falling debris threatened Chong Zi. Wan Jie, despite his own weakening state, shielded her, worsening his injuries and causing him to collapse into unconsciousness. Chong Zi, now facing an incapacitated Wan Jie, contemplated a desperate escape.

She wrestled with the idea of killing him and taking the demon sword to atone for her past and avoid the Immortal Prison, but his recent act of protection and his past kindness ultimately prevented her from striking. As Wan Jie awoke, he revealed that Luo Yinfan's spell could have freed her had she responded with her own spiritual power, and mockingly noted Luo Yinfan's deep concern for her.

Handing back the demon sword, Chong Zi witnessed it transform into a poisonous demon snake, loyal only to its master, solidifying Wan Jie's warning that she was lucky not to have taken it. In Chonghua Palace, Min Yunzhong admonished Luo Yinfan for the reckless use of the Earthshock Spell, reminding him of his position as sect leader and the potential harm to himself.

Qin Ke and Sima Miaoyuan volunteered to search the Great Desolate Land, though Sima Miaoyuan expressed her belief that Chong Zi deserved her punishment. Around the same time, Wan Jie, suffering from a backlash from the demon sword, was overcome by a need for spiritual power. He seized Sima Miaoyuan when she ventured near, but Chong Zi, despite their antagonistic relationship, pleaded with Wan Jie to release her. Moved by Chong Zi's selflessness, Wan Jie grudgingly released Sima Miaoyuan.

However, upon her return, Sima Miaoyuan distorted the truth, falsely claiming she narrowly escaped and implying that Chong Zi was willingly allied with Wan Jie, even calling him "Uncle." Enraged, Luo Yinfan immediately demanded to be taken to the Land of Tribulations. Concurrently, Demoness Dreamji visited Gong Keran, who was living in seclusion, to inform her that Wan Jie had promised Demon King Wang Yue a service in exchange for his freedom from the demon realm.

Dreamji then impersonated Gong Keran, successfully instigating a conflict between Lord Ming and Yu Xuzi, who fought over her. Reporting back to Wang Yue, Dreamji gloated about the immortals' gullibility, while Wang Yue confidently predicted that Wan Jie, still struggling with his unwilling demonhood, would fall into the trap set for Gong Keran. Back with Chong Zi, her genuine compassion began to chip away at Wan Jie's hardened demeanor.

He reflected on her good heart despite her inborn evil breath, wondering how she would navigate the world. Chong Zi, aware of his coercion, reiterated her suspicion that he was being used to unlock the Tianmo Token. She reaffirmed her rejection of demonhood and offered to intercede with her master on his behalf, still clinging to the hope that he was the honorable Chu Bufu.

Complaining about the monotonous diet, Chong Zi eventually convinced Wan Jie to take her to Panhai Town. There, they revisited the spot where he had first saved her. They overheard patrons discussing an immortal lady held at Qingchang Mountain, and Wan Jie, recognizing it as a trap for Gong Keran, immediately prepared to leave. Chong Zi, understanding the gravity of the situation, vowed to wait for him in Panhai Town.

Despite his concerns, Wan Jie declared he would go, even if it were a trap. Meanwhile, Luo Yinfan sought Yunji's counsel regarding the impenetrable Land of Tribulations. Yunji proposed using a vine flute to summon the demon beast Qinyuan to break the barrier. As Luo Yinfan prepared to retrieve the necessary vine from Buzhou Mountain, news of Wan Jie's appearance reached him, prompting Yunji to offer to retrieve the vine in his stead.
