Blossom in Heart Episode 21 Recap
> Blossom in Heart Recap
Lang Yueming returned home beaten and bruised by government soldiers, his face swollen, and the shell mask given to him by Gu Haitang shattered. While his mother, Feng Chunyan, was distressed by his injuries, Lang Yueming only regretted the broken mask. Meanwhile, Gu Haitang was imprisoned, accused of poisoning Yi Rongrong. Her brother, Gu Xiahe, visited her, revealing that Lang Qingqing had poisoned Yi Rongrong and suggesting Lang Qingqing should confess to free Gu Haitang.
However, Gu Haitang firmly refused, believing it would ruin Lang Qingqing's life and further incriminate the Lang family. Lang Yuexuan also visited Gu Haitang and overheard their conversation, feeling grateful for Gu Haitang's consideration for the Lang family. Lang Yuexuan suspected Lang Qingqing's poison would only cause drowsiness, not severe or fatal consequences, unless Yi Rongrong had an allergic constitution, prompting him to investigate further.
Gu Haitang learned that the Lang family's business, Lang Lichun, had been vandalized and forced to close by Long Deshui's men. Distressed, she requested to see Lang Yueming. Lang Sinian, the head of the Lang family, tried to appease Long Deshui, offering him ten percent of Lang Lichun's shares and a written pledge for twenty percent of all future earnings, hoping for time to uncover the truth and for leniency.
However, Long Deshui, whose intended bride Yi Rongrong was still in the hospital in critical condition, remained furious. He adamantly believed Gu Haitang was responsible and declared he would cut all ties with the Lang family, fearing public ridicule if he accepted money under such circumstances. To protect the Lang family, Feng Chunyan proposed issuing a divorce letter to Gu Haitang and publicizing it. Lang Sinian worried Lang Yueming would not agree.
Feng Chunyan then confronted Lang Yueming, arguing that Gu Haitang did not truly love him and urging him to abandon her to safeguard the family's interests. Lang Yueming, who was already aware of the divorce plan, found himself in a painful dilemma, unwilling to make Gu Haitang leave or bear the guilt, yet burdened by the responsibility for the Lang family's reputation. Lang Yueming visited Gu Haitang in prison.
Gu Haitang, noticing his injuries and the absence of his mask, deduced he had confronted Long Deshui. She then proposed a divorce herself, offering to bear all consequences and sever any connection with the Lang family. She also urged him to heal his face to restore the Lang family's prestige. Lang Yueming reluctantly agreed. Heartbroken, Lang Yueming wrote the divorce letter, tormented by memories of Gu Haitang. He handed the letter to Feng Chunyan, who was secretly pleased.
Meanwhile, Lang Yuexuan attempted to see Long Mohua, but she consistently avoided him. Long Mohua, suspecting Xinqiao of instigating the poisoning, confronted her. Xinqiao denied involvement, pushed all blame onto Long Mohua, and threatened her, suggesting Long Mohua secretly desired to harm Gu Haitang to win Lang Yuexuan's affection. Long Deshui, regretting not listening to Long Mohua about marrying Yi Rongrong, lamented the chaos caused, with Yi Rongrong still in critical condition, her fate uncertain.
Following the divorce, Lang Yueming went to the police station and confessed to poisoning Yi Rongrong with "fragrant poison" because she had called him ugly. Long Deshui, enraged, called Lang Yueming ugly in return and threatened to kill him on the spot, but Lang Yueming showed no fear. Lang Yueming explained that the "fragrant poison" caused more severe symptoms in Yi Rongrong due to her allergic constitution and provided a packet of the poison to Long Deshui.
The police chief found Lang Yueming's confession credible, and Long Deshui vowed to kill Lang Yueming as retribution if Yi Rongrong died. Feng Chunyan, upon learning of Lang Yueming's self-surrender and subsequent imprisonment, became frantic and immediately dispatched Lang Yuexuan to gather information. It was later revealed that Lang Yueming had previously witnessed Miaolan poisoning Gu Haitang. When Yi Rongrong exhibited identical symptoms, he confronted Miaolan.
Miaolan confessed that she had orchestrated the poisoning by using Lang Qingqing's hand to administer the poison. Unwilling to implicate his own sister, Lang Yueming decided to take the blame himself. Gu Haitang was subsequently released, found innocent. She rushed back to the Lang family to understand the situation. Upon learning that Lang Yueming had confessed to clear her name, she discussed with Lang Yuexuan their immediate plan to find Yi Rongrong and investigate the true cause of her poisoning.
Lang Qingqing, filled with guilt, apologized to Gu Haitang and promised to do everything possible to free Lang Yueming. Lang Yuexuan remained perplexed, as the "fragrant poison" should only induce drowsiness or unconsciousness, not be life-threatening. However, Yi Rongrong's private doctor adamantly insisted the "fragrant poison" was the cause. Gu Xiahe also suspected foul play, believing someone had tampered with Gu Haitang's cosmetic box. Gu Haitang recalled leaving her cosmetic box unattended during the wedding.
To uncover the truth, they decided that Gu Xiahe and Lang Qingqing would investigate the private doctor, while Lang Yuexuan would independently seek information from Long Mohua, as Gu Haitang could not appear publicly.
