Gu Haitang returned to the workshop, where Xinqiao deliberately tried to make things difficult for her, but Master Shang intervened. Master Shang then instructed Gu Haitang to learn new techniques from Fanzhen to catch up with everyone's progress. Long Mohua arrived, bringing pastries for Gu Haitang to taste, for which Gu Haitang highly praised her skills. Long Mohua inquired about Lang Yuexuan, mentioning he had been indifferent to her recently and that she had previously thought he liked Gu Haitang.

However, feeling she now had another chance, Long Mohua planned a grand banquet to confess her feelings to Lang Yuexuan, booking Kunyang's largest cafe and inviting various socialites and newspaper reporters. She asked Long Deshui to help contact the reporters and quickly prepared everything. Gu Haitang found herself unable to let go of her feelings about Lang Yuexuan, prompting Fanzhen to notice her unhappiness and offer advice.

Gu Haitang questioned Lang Yuexuan's loyalty, though Fanzhen considered him a good man, ideal for any woman. Long Mohua personally delivered invitations to Lang Yuexuan and Gu Haitang at the workshop, bitterly begging Gu Haitang for help with her proposal plan and even threatening suicide if Lang Yuexuan publicly rejected her. Gu Haitang, fearing for Long Mohua, reluctantly agreed. Reluctantly, Gu Haitang went to Lang Yuexuan to talk about Long Mohua's planned gathering.

Lang Yuexuan, busy with other matters, stated he had no intention of attending, explaining he only saw Long Mohua as a brother and had no romantic feelings for her. Gu Haitang tried to persuade him to consider Long Mohua. In response, Gu Haitang asked Lang Yuexuan if her own feelings could be played with arbitrarily. That afternoon, Gu Haitang took leave from the workshop.

While on the street, she spotted a pearl shell and wanted to buy it to make a new mask for Lang Yueming to help lift his spirits. As she was bargaining with the vendor, Lang Yuexuan arrived and paid for the shell, with Gu Haitang promising to repay him next month. Lang Yuexuan offered his full support for Gu Haitang's efforts to treat Lang Yueming's face.

During their conversation, Gu Haitang asked Lang Yuexuan for a divorce paper, a request that made him difficult, and also asked him to help her find blood-activating and stasis-removing medicinal herbs, which he agreed to. Upon returning home, Gu Haitang discussed a gambling agreement with Gu Xiahe.

Gu Xiahe recalled that their father had a "Baibai San" (Eight Hundred Powder) formula for spot removal, which he had improved into a concealer called "Furong Gao" (Lotus Cream), though only their father knew the formula. Gu Haitang realized she needed to combine these two formulas with other ingredients to both treat scars and conceal them. She also remembered reading about a legendary plant called "Ice Crystal Qilin," rumored to treat all scars, and expressed her determination to find it.

Gu Haitang crafted a breathable and beautiful shell mask for Lang Yueming, who loved it and was profoundly grateful. With Gu Haitang's careful treatment and care, Lang Yueming's mood brightened, and he began to take walks in the courtyard. Lang Yuexuan was happy for him, but Lang Yueming worried that if his face healed, Gu Haitang would leave the Lang family.

Lang Yuexuan was unsure how to respond, while Lang Yueming expressed that he would be happy as long as she remained by his side. Miaolan, recalling Lang Yuexuan's previous compliment on her scent, presented him with many sachets she had made. Inspired by the sachets, Lang Yuexuan suggested transforming the incense powder into incense beads, believing this would make them easier to preserve and their fragrance more lasting.

Recognizing Miaolan's excellent embroidery and drawing skills, he asked for her participation in making sachets, which Miaolan happily accepted. Meanwhile, the Shihanglu Workshop faced a crisis. Partner merchants blocked its entrance, demanding payment and refusing to deliver goods because their production links had encountered problems, causing losses, and the Shi family had not accepted their products. Shi Diwen arrived, promising a satisfactory response soon.

He learned from Shopkeeper Tan that the order from Huajili was too large, exceeding the Shihanglu Workshop's available funds and raw materials. Shi Diwen reported this to his father, Shi Jizhou. At home, Shi Diwen found Huajili arguing with Shi Jizhou, threatening to take the order elsewhere. Shi Jizhou, desperate and out of options due to the overwhelming product quantity, instructed Shi Diwen to seek help from Lang Yuexuan.

Shi Diwen was reluctant but, under pressure, brought Huajili to request assistance from Lang Sinian. Lang Yuexuan and Lang Sinian had already heard about the Shi family's troubles and were waiting for them at Langlichun. Huajili and Shi Diwen pleaded for the Lang family to take over the order, emphasizing that its failure would significantly harm the reputation of the entire Kunyang rouge industry.

Lang Sinian reluctantly agreed to accept the order, on the condition that all of Huajili's future orders would exclusively be with the Lang family. Lang Yuexuan then presented his plan to Lang Sinian: to continue cooperation with the existing merchants but with refined division of labor and stricter requirements to reduce their losses and improve product quality. Simultaneously, he proposed raising new funds to procure raw materials from external sources. This two-pronged approach would ensure the order's timely completion.

Huajili and Shi Diwen both strongly approved of Lang Yuexuan's proposal. Lang Sinian agreed, instructing Shi Diwen to inform Shi Jizhou that the Lang family would become Kunyang's sole supplier, demanding Shi Jizhou hand over any already completed work, and guaranteeing the order's on-time completion. Lang Sinian then gave Lang Yuexuan full responsibility for managing the entire matter.
