Mark, eager to see Han Shuang, tried to sneak into her dressing room before their traditional Chinese wedding. Xia Yan and Ma Xiangnan playfully intercepted him, stressing that seeing the bride before the ceremony brings bad luck, despite Mark's insistence that he was a "new generation" and already legally married. Mark, excited for their future, talked about growing old and having children, while Han Shuang playfully maintained her desire to always be the "hottest."
Mark also mentioned their family's plastic surgery business as an advantage for eternal youth. In her dressing room, Han Shuang was nervous and asked Xia Yan if her mother, Han Mingzhu, had arrived. Xia Yan evaded the question. Han Shuang then anxiously inquired about Zhao Xiaolei, emphasizing that if she didn't show up, she would be angry for life. Just then, Zhao Xiaolei walked in, reassuring Han Shuang that she would never miss such an important day.
Han Shuang, overjoyed and tearful, hugged her friend, jokingly complimenting Zhao Xiaolei's appearance while her friends teased her for her "empress" persona. Meanwhile, Han Mingzhu arrived and introduced herself to Mark's mother, Feng Xuehua. Han Mingzhu revealed a thorough knowledge of Feng Xuehua's background, including her past as a burns doctor and her current plastic surgery center, even mentioning its business focus on breast augmentations and liposuction, and recent funding challenges.
Han Mingzhu expressed her strong disapproval of the plastic surgery industry, deeming it "objectifying women" and diminishing their worth. Feng Xuehua defended her legitimate business and pointed out Han Mingzhu's own cosmetic procedures, which Han Mingzhu dismissed as mere "regular skin care." Mark intervened in their escalating argument, and Han Mingzhu requested to speak with him about his future.
Han Mingzhu bluntly told Mark to sever all ties with past girlfriends, including Ma Xiangnan, who she knew was a friend of Han Shuang's. Mark insisted his relationship with Ma Xiangnan was strictly professional. Han Mingzhu then questioned his plans to inherit his family's plastic surgery center, to which Mark responded that he intended to pursue his dream of being a doctor, but not a plastic surgeon.
Han Mingzhu doubted his ability to provide for her daughter with a modest salary, though she conceded that Han Shuang valued more than just wealth. Despite her initial skepticism, Han Mingzhu admitted she found Mark's "silly foolishness" endearing. She then went to see Han Shuang, remarking on the current wedding's modest scale and promising to host a lavish banquet at the Hualan Hotel later.
She lovingly reassured Han Shuang that she would always be her daughter, regardless of her marital status, and the mother and daughter shared a heartfelt embrace, finally reconciling. During the wedding ceremony, Han Mingzhu walked Han Shuang down the aisle and entrusted her to Mark, urging him to cherish and love her.
As a video montage showcasing the couple's journey was played, an unexpected clip appeared: Han Shuang kissing Xu Chengyi in an elevator, accompanied by audio where Han Shuang seemed to belittle Mark, saying, "How could Mark compare to you? I'm only playing with him." The guests were shocked, and Ma Xiangnan quickly ordered the video to be stopped.
Xu Chengyi attempted to cover up the incident by claiming it was a prank, but Mark's mother was furious, asserting that such a prank was unacceptable. The host tried to salvage the ceremony by inviting the couple to share their love story. A visibly distraught Mark, however, ran off. Han Shuang pursued him, finding him deeply upset.
Mark confessed to feeling like a "fool" on stage and admitted his belief that he was inferior to Xu Chengyi in terms of "abilities, appearance, and figure." Han Shuang questioned his trust and asked why he fled instead of seeking an explanation. Their argument intensified, culminating in Han Shuang declaring the wedding off and casting aside her dress.
Xu Chengyi tried to speak with Mark, reminding him of the truth about their encounter at the hotel and urging him to explain, but an enraged Mark told him to leave. Mark's mother, reeling from the cancelled wedding, disparaged Han Shuang as an "improper woman," criticizing Mark for marrying without her knowledge or proper caution. She emphasized their family's adherence to rules, especially in relationships. She accused Han Shuang of "flirting with someone else," causing the scandal.
Amidst the chaos, Mark's father suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized. Han Shuang returned to the stage, apologizing for the wait and announcing that the marriage was divorced. She instructed guests to reclaim their cash gifts but encouraged them to enjoy the food and drinks. Han Mingzhu confronted Han Shuang, demanding an explanation, but Han Shuang angrily told her to stay out of her affairs, reminding her of her own divorce.
Han Shuang's friends tried to calm her, suggesting that Mark hadn't explicitly sought a divorce and might have acted out of momentary hesitation. Han Shuang, however, interpreted Mark's reaction as a lack of trust and remained firm in her decision. She decided they should all go out and drink, especially since Zhao Xiaolei was with them. As they were about to leave, Lin Hao appeared, ordering Zhao Xiaolei to come home.
When Han Shuang protested, Lin Hao mocked her failed wedding. Zhao Xiaolei, looking frightened, left with Lin Hao. Ma Xiangnan noticed a bruise on Zhao Xiaolei's wrist, concluding that Lin Hao must have hit her. Enraged, Han Shuang rallied her friends to confront Lin Hao. Back at their apartment, Lin Hao aggressively questioned Zhao Xiaolei about attending the wedding and whether she believed Xu Chengyi was superior to him.
Despite Lin Hao's dismissal of Han Shuang's words as "nonsense," he pressed Zhao Xiaolei about her true feelings. Petrified, Zhao Xiaolei initially tried to avoid his questions. Under further pressure, she admitted that Lin Hao "used to be more tender, more kind," but now "nothing about you is better than him" compared to Xu Chengyi. In a fit of rage, Lin Hao threw Zhao Xiaolei onto the sofa.
Zhao Xiaolei attempted to pack a suitcase to leave for her brother Zhao Xiaojun's place, but Lin Hao prevented her. At that moment, Han Shuang and her friends arrived, banging on the door and demanding Zhao Xiaolei open it. Lin Hao quickly shifted tactics, making a dramatic, emotional plea. He claimed his company was on the verge of bankruptcy, that he had lost everything, and couldn't even pay rent.
He begged Zhao Xiaolei not to abandon him, asserting that she was "all he has" and that he "can't live without" her. Zhao Xiaolei, seemingly swayed by his manipulation, promised not to leave. After Lin Hao hastily tidied the living room, Zhao Xiaolei opened the door. Han Shuang immediately urged her to come with them. Zhao Xiaolei, however, denied that Lin Hao had hit her, claiming they merely had an argument and she accidentally broke a vase.
When asked about the bruise on her wrist and the packed suitcase, she offered weak excuses, stating she was cleaning and had forgotten to put the suitcase away. Xia Yan directly asked Lin Hao if he had struck Zhao Xiaolei, but Zhao Xiaolei deflected by asking Xia Yan if Lin Hao had ever hit "her" during their seven years together. Zhao Xiaolei then told her friends to stop interfering, asserting that arguments between couples were normal and that their relationship was none of their business.
