Well-Intended Love S2 Episode 7 Recap
> Well-Intended Love S2 Recap
Ling Yizhou arrived uninvited at Xia Lin's home, moving in his luggage and making himself at home. After unpacking, he confidently asked Xia Lin if she wanted to inspect his work. Xia Lin, exasperated, told him to do as he pleased, to which Ling Yizhou earnestly declared he was not a "casual person."
Xia Lin retorted that she would then casually get something to drink, and as she stood to leave, Ling Yizhou chuckled and said he wanted a drink too. Xia Lin felt increasingly annoyed, finding his presence and demands akin to treating her like a servant. She poured herself a glass of water, and when Ling Yizhou asked for a sip, she refused. In their playful tussle, hot water from the glass accidentally splashed onto Ling Yizhou.
Seeing his skin redden from the burn, Xia Lin immediately apologized profusely, telling him to quickly take off his shirt to dab his skin with tissues. As she worked, she suddenly realized he was shirtless and, blushing, covered her face, calling him a "lady-killer" and ordering him to put his shirt back on. Ling Yizhou pointed out that she had just told him to take it off. Xia Lin, growing angrier, declared she had tolerated him for over three hours.
She berated him for coming uninvited and treating her like a servant, noting he would obey her command to remove his shirt but not to go home. Mid-sentence, she noticed he was no longer on the sofa and asked where he was, only for him to reply that he was taking a bath. After Ling Yizhou's bath, Xia Lin grew concerned that their pretense of engagement might turn into a real relationship.
She insisted he leave, but he refused, explaining that he had noticed paparazzi staked out downstairs her apartment when he arrived. He warned that if she drove him out so late, the next day's headlines would solidify the "Mu has belonged to Zhou Couple" image. Xia Lin suggested he ask Wen Li to handle the paparazzi, but Ling Yizhou argued that Wen Li also deserved rest and time to pursue his own love.
Defeated, Xia Lin relented, offering her room to him and stating she would sleep in the guest room. Ling Yizhou then bid her good night. The next morning, Xia Lin discovered Ling Yizhou had used her face wash and complained about her missing skincare products, which he casually mentioned were in a cabinet. During breakfast, Ling Yizhou asked for her door password.
Xia Lin offered to tell him if he sent her a red envelope, but Ling Yizhou immediately stated "180716." Xia Lin, surprised, asked how he knew. Ling Yizhou explained that "180716" represented July 16, 2018, the day she received her Best New Artist Award for her work in Director Wu Qiang's films, an event he remembered vividly because of her radiant presence on stage.
When Xia Lin pressed him on how long he had known her, Ling Yizhou skillfully changed the subject, reminding her that talking during meals was unhealthy. Meanwhile, during a break from filming, Chu Yan saw photos online of Ling Yizhou shopping for Xia Lin and acting as a househusband, which visibly dampened his spirits. Shortly after, his assistant informed him that his father had suffered a sudden heart attack and was rushed to the hospital.
Chu Yan immediately requested leave and hurried to his father's side. At the hospital, the doctor explained that his father's heart attack was due to overwork, but his condition had improved after rescue, though he required continued hospitalization and rest. Chu Yan reassured his father that the company's financial troubles were secondary, as he could earn enough money as an actor to support him.
However, his father, viewing the company as his life's work, urged Chu Yan to return and manage the business. After finishing her scene, Miss Jiang questioned Xia Lin about the online photos of Ling Yizhou acting as her househusband. Xia Lin awkwardly explained that the situation had been sudden. Just then, she received a text from Wen Li, urgently requesting her presence because Ling Yizhou was heavily intoxicated.
Xia Lin quickly instructed Miss Jiang to handle the current issue and promised a full explanation later before rushing off in her car. Upon arriving at the designated location, she found Wen Li assisting a stumbling Ling Yizhou out of a building. Xia Lin helped Ling Yizhou into the passenger seat and secured his seatbelt. As soon as she closed the car door, Ling Yizhou opened the window and, gesturing wildly, repeatedly asked where his steering wheel was.
Xia Lin found his drunken state amusing and endearing, prompting her to record his expressions on her phone. Ling Yizhou insisted he needed a steering wheel to drive home, and Xia Lin playfully pointed out it was right in front of him, within reach. Ling Yizhou, still mimicking driving, bid her goodbye as if he were leaving.
Xia Lin, smiling, told him to be careful on the road as she drove him home and carefully helped him out of the car. Unbeknownst to them, Chu Yan, who was nearby, witnessed Xia Lin helping a very drunk Ling Yizhou out of the car, confirming the rumors he had seen online. Back at her apartment, Xia Lin guided Ling Yizhou to the bed and began removing his jacket. Suddenly, Ling Yizhou pulled her into a tight embrace.
She asked if he had sobered up, but he denied it before kissing her. Xia Lin found herself drawn into the kiss, but after a moment, her rationality returned, and she broke free, retreating to the bathroom. Staring at her reflection in the mirror, she felt an internal debate. Her reflection urged her to accept their engagement, declaring "Mu has belonged to Zhou" and that it was time to finalize their relationship.
The real Xia Lin countered that their engagement was merely a pretense, but her reflection dismissed this as a mere excuse. Making a quiet decision, she sprayed on some perfume, grabbed a towel, and returned to the bedroom, only to find Ling Yizhou already fast asleep. Gazing at his handsome face, Xia Lin gently kissed his forehead and sweetly whispered "Good night." Later, Ling Yizhou visited Chu Yan's father in the hospital.
As he prepared to leave, he offered to assist with his father's company affairs. Chu Yan declined, stating he had decided to return to help his father and would retire from acting after completing his current play. He then revealed to Ling Yizhou that he had seen him and Xia Lin downstairs her home the previous day. Chu Yan praised Xia Lin as a good and hardworking person.
He admitted he had never confessed his feelings to her because he was unsure if his affection was that of a friend, a lover, or merely a professional colleague. Ling Yizhou expressed his gratitude to Chu Yan for silently protecting Xia Lin as a friend throughout the years. Subsequently, Jia Fei messaged Xia Lin, inquiring about her cohabitation experience. Xia Lin replied, describing it as "sudden and tragic," prompting Jia Fei to invite her out to the gym for comfort.
Wen Li, seeing a photo Jia Fei had sent of herself and Xia Lin at the gym with fitness coaches nearby, became visibly annoyed. He immediately showed the photo to Ling Yizhou. Upon seeing a coach in close proximity to Xia Lin, Ling Yizhou instantly stood up and, with Wen Li, rushed to the gym. Jia Fei and Xia Lin were surprised by their sudden appearance.
Jia Fei complained about how petty men were, arguing that their possessiveness would prevent them from hiring private coaches in the future and that Ling Yizhou and Wen Li were interfering with her research for a new script by preventing her from observing muscular men. Ling Yizhou, however, firmly stated that Xia Lin's personal trainer could only be him.
Jia Fei then demanded compensation, arguing that because they had driven away the coaches, she and Xia Lin could no longer appreciate the muscular men. Ling Yizhou agreed and instructed Wen Li to arrange the compensation. Finally, Ling Yizhou confronted Xia Lin about their arrangement. He expressed his desire to terminate their engagement agreement so they could begin a real marriage. He stated that the engagement had been her "plot," and he was now allowing her "plot to bear fruit."
He then declared that marriage, to him, was a gamble, and he challenged her to gamble with him. Xia Lin, without hesitation, accepted the challenge, stating she dared to gamble on anything as long as he was not the stakes.
