Well-Intended Love S2 Episode 15 Recap
> Well-Intended Love S2 Recap
Xia Lin returned home from the hospital and found it surreal to have her own apartment, feeling as if she might wake up from a dream at any moment. Her friend, Jia Fei, reassured her, telling her to accept it at ease, as all of this was the fruit of her hard work over the years. Inside the apartment, Xia Lin discovered male belongings, including a blue toothbrush beside her pink one and men's clothing in the wardrobe.
Xia Lin expressed that the man was a complete stranger to her, and she couldn't accept a stranger as her husband, feeling that the person who had memories and feelings for him over the past two years was not her current self. Jia Fei, however, encouraged her to accept the situation, reminding her that even with amnesia, having such an excellent man like Boss Ling as a husband should be a source of happiness.
Xia Lin then playfully offered Ling Yizhou to Jia Fei, to which Jia Fei shrugged and said he wasn't her type. Jia Fei then added that the doctor said Xia Lin would recall everything gradually. Meanwhile, Ling Yizhou, from his own home, seemed to be lost in thought, possibly dwelling on his memories with Xia Lin.
Soon after, Ms. Huang arrived at Xia Lin's apartment, explaining that Ling Yizhou had sent her to help, as Xia Lin had forgotten many things and daily life was inconvenient. Though Xia Lin initially had reservations, even pondering internally whether she should insist on a choice between herself and Ms. Huang, she ultimately decided to let Ms. Huang in, hoping she might provide clues about her past and prove to be a breakthrough.
As Xia Lin showed Ms. Huang around, she learned from Ms. Huang that she and Ling Yizhou had indeed lived together, first in her apartment, then in his villa, and that they were a very loving couple, even getting a puppy named Pidan because of Xia Lin. Ms. Huang also mentioned that since being with Xia Lin, Ling Yizhou smiled every day.
Later, Xia Lin overheard Ms. Huang on the phone, reassuring someone that "everything is fine" and she "didn't mention anything that shouldn't" be said. This immediately sparked Xia Lin's suspicion that Ms. Huang might be monitoring her on Ling Yizhou's behalf. Consumed by paranoia, Xia Lin began to suspect a sinister plot: perhaps she possessed damaging information about Ling Yizhou, and he, in turn, had induced her amnesia and forged a marriage to control her.
Feeling trapped and desperate, she immediately called her agent, Yuyuan, eager to return to work. However, Yuyuan advised her to rest, assuring her that the company had arranged for her to recuperate and would inform her when new work was secured. Unable to work and increasingly determined to uncover the truth, Xia Lin decided to investigate her supposed marriage. The next day, she went to Ling Yizhou's office.
His secretary informed her that he was in a meeting, and Xia Lin decided to wait. Once the secretary left, Xia Lin began to discreetly search the office for the marriage certificate. As Ling Yizhou entered his office, Xia Lin quickly sat down, feigning interest in a magazine. He offered to give her a tour, but she politely declined, urging him to focus on his work. Realizing her subtle approach was ineffective, Xia Lin decided to be direct.
In her imagination, she dramatically slammed the magazine onto the desk and demanded the marriage certificate. This imagined confrontation escalated: Ling Yizhou, startled, revealed the red marriage certificate hidden beneath his keyboard, accompanied by a stack of money. As Xia Lin picked up the certificate and glared at him, an intimidated Ling Yizhou supposedly dropped to his knees, placing the keyboard on the floor. Xia Lin, holding the certificate and money, then burst into triumphant laughter.
Just as her imagined scenario reached its peak, Ling Yizhou’s voice calling "Mumu" brought her back to reality. He asked her what was wrong, making her realize the entire dramatic confrontation had been a product of her imagination. She then calmly asked him if there were two copies of their marriage certificate, to which he confirmed there were. Xia Lin then asked to see his copy of the marriage certificate.
Ling Yizhou readily agreed but inquired about her sudden interest, explaining that he kept important documents like that securely. Xia Lin brushed it off, claiming she was just curious and worried he might lose it. Later, still strategizing how to find the certificates, she decided that they must be at his villa.
She told Ling Yizhou that she felt fragments of memory flashing whenever she was with him and suggested that living together at the villa might help her recover her memories faster. Ling Yizhou enthusiastically agreed, telling her she could live wherever she wanted. Upon arriving at the spacious villa, Xia Lin began exploring, expressing her unfamiliarity with the place.
Ling Yizhou welcomed her, confirming that their shared bedroom was upstairs, not downstairs where she mistakenly thought her room was, and encouraged her to look around, hoping it would trigger her memory. He then showed her a photo of them with their dog, Pidan, explaining it was a family photo taken during a reality show they participated in. Xia Lin, however, had no recollection. Later, Ling Yizhou opened a large walk-in closet, revealing an astonishing collection of ties.
Xia Lin, surprised, asked about them, and Ling Yizhou told her that she had given them all to him, which sparked a fleeting, vague image in Xia Lin's mind of her choosing ties. Ling Yizhou then took Xia Lin's hand, placing his tie into her palm. He leaned in close, explaining that she had once taught him the true "purpose of a tie"—to symbolize their close bond. As he gazed at her intensely, Xia Lin’s heart began to pound.
Overwhelmed by the unexpected intimacy, she quickly pulled her hand away, excusing herself to the bathroom. In the bathroom, Xia Lin stared at her reflection, questioning if the sudden racing of her heart had been a genuine flicker of memory. She quickly dismissed the thought as overthinking, reaffirming that her priority was to locate the marriage certificate and verify its authenticity. That night, both Xia Lin and Ling Yizhou lay awake, each lost in their own thoughts.
The following morning, Xia Lin resumed her quest for the marriage certificate. In the study, she found a locked safe and attempted various passwords, including her birthday, but none worked. On the floor, she noticed shredded paper fragments with the words "Xia" and "agreement." Suspecting a connection, she meticulously gathered more pieces from the wastebasket and began to reconstruct them, forming a makeshift jigsaw puzzle.
Meanwhile, Ling Yizhou called Ms. Huang to check on Xia Lin, and Ms. Huang reported that Mumu was well, had a good appetite, and was engrossed in playing "jigsaws" in the study. When Ling Yizhou returned home, he found Xia Lin intently piecing together the shredded documents on the table. He called Ms. Huang to clean up the "mess," explaining to Xia Lin that it was a "Summer Paradise Acquisition Contract" he had previously vetoed.
He wondered why she was bothering with it and offered to buy her any jigsaw puzzles she desired if she enjoyed the activity. Determined to discover the safe's password, Xia Lin visited Ling Yizhou's office once more the following day. She engaged him in a series of questions, subtly probing for significant dates, eventually asking about the most meaningful day for him.
Ling Yizhou promptly replied, "The day when we got married," specifying August 1st. Armed with this crucial clue, Xia Lin feigned an urgent call from Jia Fei and quickly departed. Later, Wen Li commented on Ling Yizhou’s indulgence, noting that he clearly understood Xia Lin's intentions yet still allowed her to guess. Ling Yizhou simply smiled, dismissing it as "a little fun between husband and wife," something Wen Li wouldn't comprehend as he didn't have a wife.
Back at the villa, Xia Lin successfully opened the safe using the wedding date as the password, noting Ling Yizhou’s elaborate show of affection even in his choice of password. Inside, she found not only the marriage certificate but also an "engagement agreement." She took the marriage certificate to the Ministry of Civil Affairs for verification.
Upon her return, after replacing the certificate, she confronted Ling Yizhou with the engagement agreement, asserting that it proved their relationship was merely an act. She declared that if the engagement was fake, their marriage couldn't possibly be real, and despite not recalling why she married him, she now demanded a divorce. Ling Yizhou refused her divorce request, stating that it was Xia Lin herself who had brought him to the Ministry of Civil Affairs to get married.
Xia Lin countered that with her amnesia, he could fabricate any story he wished. She insisted on terminating their agreement immediately, despite Ling Yizhou pointing out it still had ten months until its expiry and required them to maintain their public image as a couple until then. He demanded she pay the substantial breach of contract fee, leaving Xia Lin stunned by the exorbitant amount, far more than she could ever acquire.
Under the pretense of using the restroom, Xia Lin frantically called Jia Fei to borrow money. What started as a request for "three thousand" quickly escalated to "thirty million," leaving Jia Fei shocked and questioning if Xia Lin was kidnapped or simply rehearsing for a role. Realizing Jia Fei couldn't help, Xia Lin ended the call. She then desperately called Yuyuan, explaining her urgent need for money and work.
Yuyuan reiterated her need for rest, offering to lend her money, but Xia Lin understood the amount she needed was far beyond what Yuyuan could provide. Resigned, Xia Lin left the bathroom. She emerged from the bathroom to find Ling Yizhou waiting, asking if she had considered his offer. Xia Lin quickly feigned a casual visit, claiming she was just there to see him, and then abruptly excused herself, citing an urgent afternoon tea appointment before hastily departing.
Later that evening, Ling Yizhou approached Xia Lin again, offering a compromise: he would agree to terminate their engagement agreement if she would do three things with him. Faced with no other options, Xia Lin agreed to his terms. For the first of the three conditions, Ling Yizhou took Xia Lin to a giant, illuminated Ferris wheel at night.
As vibrant fireworks burst across the sky, Xia Lin remarked on the Ferris wheel's beauty but also shared a sad superstition: lovers who ride it together are destined to break up. Ling Yizhou acknowledged this, explaining that was why they had only ever watched it from afar before. Then, he leaned in and kissed Xia Lin.
