To escape an awkward situation, Luo Zhi pretended to be asleep by pulling out a pillow, eventually drifting into genuine sleep. Sheng Huainan watched her with gentle eyes, lightly brushing her thick eyelashes. He then rested his head on the table, facing Luo Zhi, and slowly fell asleep, immersed in their shared moment.

Luo Zhi had often dreamed of being enveloped by Sheng Huainan’s presence, and even now, feeling the warmth of his jacket, which carried his beloved scent, she found the happiness almost unreal. Upon waking, she too couldn't resist gently touching Sheng Huainan’s eyelashes. She wondered if she would have immediately accepted his relationship proposal, had it not been for the necklace she soon discovered.

The necklace, which Ye Zhanyan had previously claimed was a "token of love," was found in Sheng Huainan's pocket. This discovery led Luo Zhi to a complete misunderstanding. A flood of past memories and painful interactions with Sheng Huainan and Ye Zhanyan flashed through her mind, seemingly revealing the source of all her suffering. In a decisive act, she threw the necklace into the sea, firming her resolve.

Returning to the library, Luo Zhi approached Sheng Huainan with newfound determination, pulling him into a spontaneous kiss. She recalled Ye Zhanyan's words that "a secret crush, no matter how long, cannot compare to a real kiss." For Luo Zhi, this kiss served as a definitive end to her feelings for Sheng Huainan. Before Sheng Huainan could even process the surprising joy, he was met with her stark rejection, leaving him speechless.

Sheng Huainan later sat alone on a balcony, gazing blankly at the confession Luo Zhi had carved on the wall. While he was in this state of distress, Zheng Wenrui arrived, armed with a photo of his kiss with Luo Zhi and Luo Zhi’s diary, attempting to prove Luo Zhi had ulterior motives. Sheng Huainan, however, angrily demanded the diary back. Frustrated that Sheng Huainan wouldn't give her a chance, Zheng Wenrui lashed out, blaming him for her life’s misfortunes.

She recalled a love letter she had written in high school, which she claimed he had carelessly discarded. Sheng Huainan denied any recollection of it. He, who had always strived for perfection, initially believed Zheng Wenrui was merely socially awkward, but her extreme and self-pitying accusations provoked him to speak harshly to her for the first time, telling her she had a "brain disease" and that he wasn't responsible for her unhappiness.

Unfazed, Zheng Wenrui asserted that she understood him best, embracing even his anger. Meanwhile, Zhang Mingrui found himself in his own romantic predicament. After Xu Riqing spontaneously kissed and confessed her feelings to him, he surprisingly rejected her desire to formalize their relationship. Startled, he gently pushed her away, which clearly indicated his true feelings.

He confessed that while he enjoyed seeing her smile, their interactions had revealed fundamental incompatibilities, and he no longer harbored any romantic intentions, adding that he could not satisfy her materialism and desires. Xu Riqing, believing he was toying with her due to her past liking for Sheng Huainan, also expressed her exhaustion from trying to cater to him, before refusing his offer of friendship and accusing him of playing the "warm guy" by being ambiguous without genuine affection.

Later, Sheng Huainan confided in Zhang Mingrui, both of them reeling from recent emotional turmoil. Zhang Mingrui, recognizing Sheng Huainan’s distress, helped him understand the root of his problems. Sheng Huainan realized that he was the one clinging to a "perfect halo" and that his inability to accept being disliked had created a blind spot. He resolved to break free from this self-imposed image and pursue Luo Zhi genuinely once more.

Similarly embroiled in emotional confusion, Jiang Baili was both delighted and troubled by Gu Zhiye's persistent pursuit and Gobi's renewed attention. She had never been the focus of such intense interest. To escape making a choice, she hid in a cyber cafe. When Gu Zhiye called, offering a luxurious five-star bento, and Gobi's continuous calls came in, Jiang Baili was almost tempted.

However, with Luo Zhi's encouragement, Jiang Baili rejected Gu Zhiye's food and, after Gobi's persistent calls, eventually turned off her phone, no longer wanting to entertain the attention from these two "scumbags" as Luo Zhi put it. Unbeknownst to them, Gu Zhiye, still carrying the bento, arrived on campus and coincidentally encountered Gobi, who was on the phone, seemingly making excuses to his girlfriend, Chen Mohan.

Feigning ignorance of Gobi's situation, Gu Zhiye praised Jiang Baili's purity and charm, openly expressing his strong feelings for her, and mentioned they spent New Year's Eve together. He subtly advised Gobi, suggesting that since Gobi already had someone he liked (Chen Mohan), there was no need to jeopardize his relationship with her over "unimportant women."

Gobi was left bewildered by Gu Zhiye's confidence, perhaps finding it hard to believe that a man seemingly more outstanding than himself would pursue Jiang Baili so earnestly. Meanwhile, as Jiang Baili shared a meal of spicy duck neck with her roommates, she reminisced about how she came to love the dish because Gobi had once joined her in eating it when no one else would.

She confessed that despite Gobi's current relationship, his small gestures of remembering her preferences were enough to make her willing to help him. Luo Zhi and her other friends called her "The Virgin Belle" for her unending generosity. Jiang Baili, however, stated that she was content with her choices and would only let go when she stopped loving him, just as Gobi had loved Chen Mohan for years without complaint. Luo Zhi acknowledged the profound wisdom in Jiang Baili's perspective, jokingly calling her "Mother Rong" for her insightful lesson on love and acceptance.
