Luo Yan and Jiang Xiaoguo confide in each other, discussing what it means to grow up. Luo Yan calms down, stating that the first step to maturity is apologizing to Duan Jiabao, which makes Jiang Xiaoguo happy. Luo Yan asks Jiang Xiaoguo about her relationship with Zhou Xun. Jiang Xiaoguo admits she doesn't understand Zhou Xun's feelings for her, but with Puling Capital facing a critical situation, she can only address it later.
Jiang Xiaoguo also mentions Duan Zhenyu's visit, prompting Luo Yan to ask if she has any feelings for him. Jiang Xiaoguo is unsure but knows she would deeply regret giving up on Zhou Xun. At Puling Capital, Director Ding and Zhou Xun discuss the possibility that an insider at BuyBox is responsible for the tech leak at Halo. Director Ding decides to have Matt from BuyBox investigate the company internally.
Su Hang arrives, looking dejected, and informs them that his negotiations with Mr. Su Sr. failed. Zhou Xun shares his progress, mentioning he is in discussions with Wanyou, the largest food group in the country; securing a contract with them would significantly reduce BuyBox's market costs for food. Zhou Xun then instructs Jiang Xiaoguo to leak information about Yixian's technical vulnerabilities to Finance Now.
Later, Jiang Xiaoguo is frustrated to learn that an investment secured by Su Hang and Rebecca was intercepted. She proceeds to contact a former colleague at Finance Now, as tasked by Zhou Xun, to report Yixian's technical vulnerabilities. Liang Shuang and Xiaojuan successfully complete a photoshoot, with the client expressing great satisfaction and interest in a long-term partnership.
Zhao Youxiu mentions he has a fir tree charity event to photograph that afternoon and asks Liang Shuang to take Xiaojuan to his piano class. Liang Shuang agrees. Using the excuse of developing potential clients, Liang Shuang arranges for Duan Jiabao to accompany Zhao Youxiu to the event, which Duan Jiabao happily accepts, though Liang Shuang feels a sense of loss. Xiaojuan, however, tries to charm Liang Shuang into letting him play instead of going to piano class.
Liang Shuang takes him to class anyway, but Xiaojuan fakes a stomach ache (to eat fried chicken, as revealed later) causing the teacher to call Liang Shuang. Liang Shuang, realizing Xiaojuan is pretending, advises him against lying in the future, and he promises not to. Back at the studio, Duan Jiabao hesitates before asking Liang Shuang if she likes Zhao Youxiu.
Liang Shuang is initially startled but directly denies it, explaining she avoids Zhao Youxiu to create opportunities for him and Duan Jiabao. Duan Jiabao then asks why Liang Shuang is so concerned about Xiaojuan, and Liang Shuang reiterates it's for work, which reassures Duan Jiabao. Liang Shuang's career continues to flourish; she has become one of the top ten parent-child bloggers and can now choose her own clients.
Liang Shuang and Duan Jiabao identify a desirable client who wants to interview Liang Shuang and Xiaojuan about their "sister and brother" story from childhood. Liang Shuang expresses concern about the lie growing larger, but Duan Jiabao reminds her that their studio was built on such a premise. Liang Shuang agrees, and they approach Zhao Youxiu to help them invent the story. Zhao Changming attends the Weishi annual meeting with his wife, Qu Wan, and son, Zhao Cheng.
Wei Yunjie (Luo Mama) is also present, and Luo Yan, who is preparing for the event, encounters her. Wei Yunjie states she is there to facilitate a handover for a colleague and Weishi, and that after the meeting, her relationship with Zhao Changming will be completely over. She is touched by Luo Yan's busyness, realizing her daughter has grown up, though Luo Yan remains cold towards her.
During the meeting, company executives jest about Zhao Changming and Qu Wan's affectionate relationship, and Qu Wan makes veiled remarks towards Wei Yunjie, which makes Luo Yan uncomfortable. Zhao Cheng attempts to talk to Luo Yan, but she dismisses him, stating she is working. After the meeting concludes, Zhao Changming and Qu Wan are about to leave when media outlets swarm Zhao Changming, questioning him about marital discord. Zhao Changming is furious.
Wei Yunjie attempts to shield him, but reporters then produce an intimate photograph of Zhao Changming and Wei Yunjie, demanding an explanation from Wei Yunjie. As Wei Yunjie struggles to respond, Luo Yan rushes forward, shields her mother, and escorts her away, instructing Secretary Wang to take Wei Yunjie home. Watching her mother leave, Luo Yan feels sadness. News breaks about Weishi Technology's Zhao Changming having an affair with Wei Yunjie, becoming a topic of discussion among Luo Yan's colleagues.
Zhao Cheng confronts Luo Yan, who simply states Wei Yunjie is her mother. Wei Yunjie, facing questions from her law firm's partners, reveals she has been with Zhao Changming for three years. To protect the firm's image and mitigate losses, she proactively offers her resignation, suggesting the firm announce her termination. After leaving the firm, Wei Yunjie drinks alone at home.
A concerned Luo Yan returns home and asks her mother why she allowed the situation to escalate when she could have resolved it. Meanwhile, Qu Wan angrily confronts Zhao Changming at home, questioning why he invited Wei Yunjie to the annual meeting knowing the media was watching them. Qu Wan reveals she has known about Zhao Changming's affair for three years, having suppressed her emotions until this moment, and now vents her frustration.
Zhao Changming, realizing this, frantically apologizes and claims he has separated from Wei Yunjie. Their argument is overheard by Zhao Cheng, who becomes distraught and runs away crying, refusing his mother's apology. Zhao Cheng is surprised to learn from Lu Ran that Lu Ran had known about his parents' relationship all along. Because of this, Lu Ran reveals that he and Luo Yan have broken up.
