At the training center, Zhou Tong watched Song Guanwang cleaning and took some photos. As they looked through the pictures, they came across some photos of Wen Xiaoyao. Song Guanwang asked about Zhou Tong's relationship progress with Wen Xiaoyao. Zhou Tong admitted he genuinely liked her, rating his feelings around seven or eight out of ten, and no longer felt bothered by his mother's previous attempts to set him up.
He confessed he felt anxious, worrying the relationship might not last, especially given Wen Xiaoyao initially described dating as an experience. Song Guanwang encouraged him, reminding him of his father's philosophy that life is short but should be complete, suggesting Zhou Tong should pursue the relationship seriously. Zhou Tong decided to be more direct with Wen Xiaoyao moving forward.
Song Guanwang also mentioned feeling down herself, as Yang Yun had openly told her she was outdated and wanted to do her own choreography. Qiao Guanghui planned to take Zhao Gang out to sing. While waiting, he asked Zhao Gang to accompany him to dinner with Song Guanwang, hoping Zhao Gang could help him understand Song Guanwang's feelings for Qiao Mi. Zhao Gang, whose foot was broken, was reluctant and found KTV tacky, wanting only to go home.
Qiao Guanghui pleaded, saying Zhao Gang had a broken foot but he had a broken heart because Song Guanwang had told Qiao Mi that she wasn't right for him. Zhao Gang finally agreed to the dinner. Shi Diandian, feeling confident about Xu Tian, went to buy a large amount of snacks, batteries, and napkins, announcing she was having a picnic with him that night. She even bought mouthwash in anticipation of kissing.
Lao Shi expressed concern, feeling Shi Diandian was moving too fast and might get hurt, suggesting she wait for her mother's return for guidance and help in vetting him. Shi Diandian dismissed her worries, stating she knew what she was doing. Lao Shi asked if Xu Tian had any bad habits or health issues. Shi Diandian called Xu Tian. Xu Tian was visiting Leifeng Tower, as he did weekly to remember his mother.
He noticed a poster for a "Legend of the White Snake" performance in Beijing. A staff member recognized him, noting he had been visiting the tower every week for the past eleven years, making him their most loyal visitor. As a gesture of appreciation, the scenic area leadership decided to give him two tickets to the Beijing premiere and two round-trip flight tickets.
He received the confirmation form and was instructed on how to collect the tickets from a travel agency. Soon after, he received a call from Shi Diandian. Shi Diandian told Xu Tian that a friend had checked highway records near Xiaoshan Airport and found someone who looked exactly like him exiting the airport on the 4th and entering again on the 7th.
Xu Tian maintained he had never been on a plane or left Hangzhou, sticking close to home unless necessary. Shi Diandian had his ID card and suggested they go to the airport themselves to check the surveillance footage, warning that the video storage might be cleared soon. Despite his denial of ever having been there, Xu Tian agreed to meet her at Leifeng Tower to go to the airport.
On the drive to Xiaoshan, Shi Diandian claimed her blood sugar was low as she hadn't eaten lunch. Since Xu Tian was driving, he helped her find cookies in the car. Later, he peeled tangerines he had bought near Leifeng Tower and fed them to her piece by piece. Shi Diandian also started humming a Beijing folk song she had just learned, although Xu Tian found her off-key.
Meanwhile, Wen Xiaoyao accompanied Qiao Mi and Qiao Guanghui to the property office to sign documents for a property transfer. To their surprise, when it was time to sign, Qiao Mi insisted that Wen Xiaoyao also sign. Qiao Guanghui was taken aback. Qiao Mi had brought Wen Xiaoyao's ID card. The staff noted that since Wen Xiaoyao's household registration was in Zhejiang, some additional procedures were required, which would cause delays.
While waiting, Wen Xiaoyao felt uncomfortable and excused herself to wait outside. Inside, Qiao Guanghui questioned Qiao Mi's decision to transfer the property to Wen Xiaoyao. Qiao Mi explained that while they were like sisters, Wen Xiaoyao had no assets of her own in Beijing, and she worried what would happen if their relationship changed or if Wen Xiaoyao was ever alone.
Qiao Guanghui acknowledged the sentiment but felt giving away the apartment was too impulsive, especially since he had treated Wen Xiaoyao like a daughter for years and considered her family. Qiao Mi remained resolute. Qiao Guanghui went outside to speak with Wen Xiaoyao. He first asked if she had ever been to Hangzhou, which she denied, though she expressed excitement about potentially performing there if their upcoming show was successful.
Qiao Guanghui then brought up Qiao Mi's intention to transfer the property to her. Wen Xiaoyao expressed that she already felt significant pressure from the kindness the Qiao family had shown her over the years and absolutely could not accept the apartment. Qiao Guanghui was torn between his headstrong daughter and his sensible foster daughter. Wen Xiaoyao went back inside to talk to Qiao Mi, explaining her feelings.
However, Qiao Mi insisted, saying that refusing the apartment meant Wen Xiaoyao was treating her like an outsider and ruining their close relationship. Under pressure, Wen Xiaoyao picked up the pen, hesitated, and signed the document, marking it as "disagree" before quickly leaving the office. The staff mentioned the notarization process would require the parties to return two more times over about two weeks.
Back inside, Qiao Guanghui reprimanded Qiao Mi for making such a major decision without consulting him, pointing out that giving away property affected her future assets. Qiao Mi accused him of being stingy. Qiao Guanghui became angry, telling her he had spoiled her into believing the world revolved around her. Qiao Mi recalled Song Guanwang saying something similar and felt both of them were targeting her. Angrily, she also left.
Later, Qiao Mi messaged Wen Xiaoyao, singing a Beijing folk song, which Wen Xiaoyao praised, indicating they had reconciled. Wen Xiaoyao and Zhou Tong were enjoying time together, appearing comfortable and happy as they climbed what Zhou Tong noted was a rough path. Shi Diandian and Xu Tian arrived at the airport.
Shi Diandian presented Xu Tian's ID and asked staff to check surveillance footage, falsely claiming Xu Tian was her boyfriend who suffered from intermittent amnesia and needed to verify his whereabouts. The staff called out for Xu Tian to verify the request, which startled a man nearby who then tried to run. The staff apprehended the man and discovered he had a criminal record. Xu Tian was taken to the monitoring room separately.
His account differed from Shi Diandian's; he explained that on the 6th, a stormy day, he believed he saw someone who looked just like him briefly at his shop, and he was curious about the person's identity after they disappeared. The staff informed them that Shi Diandian would face disciplinary action for misusing public resources to violate someone's privacy by fabricating the story. Xu Tian apologized for the trouble caused by the situation.
On the way back, Shi Diandian seemed unconcerned about the impending discipline. Xu Tian offered to explain the situation at her workplace, but she declined, saying it would only confirm they were dating and make things more complicated to explain. As they drove, Shi Diandian wondered about the identity and destination of the man who had been apprehended.
