Jin Zichuan was about to tell Li Xiang to stop making a scene in the jewelry store when she, fearing her lie would be exposed to her ex-boyfriend Zhou Qi, kissed him and asked him to play along. Jin Zichuan cooperated. As Li Xiang was about to leave, Jin Zichuan asked if she was always by herself. Surprised, Li Xiang said that she was. Jin Zichuan watched her leave, lost in thought.
Lin Ran, having heard about the light show at the amusement park from Da Fei, brought Tang Weiwei to see it. Tang Weiwei, who had never been on a Ferris wheel, suggested they try it. Lin Ran agreed, and they went on the Ferris wheel together. Tang Weiwei was overjoyed, remarking on the beautiful scenery. Seeing her reluctance to leave, Lin Ran offered to bring her again after the art exhibition.
Moved by Tang Weiwei's happiness, Lin Ran wanted to kiss her. Tang Weiwei mentioned she had eaten candy, but Lin Ran, citing his desensitisation therapy, kissed her anyway. Tang Weiwei, blushing, responded shyly. After parting with Jin Zichuan, Li Xiang walked alone on the street. Jin Zichuan instructed his driver to follow her until she sat down in a gazebo, where he appeared and draped his coat over her.
Li Xiang, puzzled by his actions, asked why he had followed her. Jin Zichuan said that considering her state, he would not deduct points today, which Li Xiang found strange. Jin Zichuan found it odd that Li Xiang was upset, considering she did not seem like someone who would care about her ex. Li Xiang revealed that Zhou Qi was her first love, who gave her Natsume Sōseki's "Kokoro" when they started dating.
She thought she was his only one, willing to marry him even if he had nothing. However, she later found out that he had been cheating on her every year for five years, even giving each of them a copy of "Kokoro", although she was the first. Li Xiang admitted she did not hate Zhou Qi, but was upset that her deep feelings were betrayed. Before Li Xiang could vent further, she received a work message on her phone.
She asked Jin Zichuan for help, and he, seeing her pitiful state, arranged a suitable small project for her, which made her smile. After their date, Lin Ran and Tang Weiwei returned to her apartment building. Lin Ran boldly asked for a goodnight kiss, and Tang Weiwei, feeling affection for him, shyly leaned in. Lin Ran was very happy and reluctantly said goodbye to Tang Weiwei.
The next morning, Tang Weiwei woke up to find her father taking selfies in colorful clothes. She learned that he was going to a community event and offered to accompany him, but he declined. Lin Ran was secretly texting Tang Weiwei during class. Tang Weiwei wondered what she should be doing since everyone else was busy, questioning her decision to give up her dream of further study.
Lin Ran, seeing Tang Weiwei wandering around the school, found her and asked if she was upset. Learning that Tang Weiwei was still doubting herself because of what Dong Zhe had said, Lin Ran decided to help her get back at Dong Zhe. Dong Zhe was on a date at a café, being stingy and only ordering one drink while he drank water. Lin Ran had Tang Weiwei wait outside and ordered a drink.
He sat next to Dong Zhe and pretended to be his boyfriend. Dong Zhe’s date got angry, called him a pervert, and threw her drink on him. Not satisfied, Lin Ran bought Dong Zhe flowers and continued to act as if they were a couple, causing others to stare at Dong Zhe strangely. Lin Ran warned Dong Zhe not to provoke him again. At school, the teacher called Lin Ran to his office, returning the paintings he had submitted earlier.
The teacher asked him to paint some new ones that could represent his strength since the school's reputation depended on him for the upcoming art exhibition. Lin Ran worked hard to finish the paintings in order to make time to date Tang Weiwei. He even asked Ji Han, who brought him food, to pick a dating spot, which made her feel sad.
