Wu Lizi suspected that Huang Ruhong had imprisoned Cheng Yizhi, but she couldn't guess where he was held. Xu Shu firmly believed that Cheng Yizhi would bring Huang Ruhong to the Pariah steamboat. Wu Lizi, Gao Xiaocong, Zhou Wenquan, and Xu Shu immediately rushed to rescue him. Shimazaki Tadashi rushed home in a hurry and found that Bell had been killed; he was heartbroken.

Cheng Yizhi concluded that Feng Youru used Futian to ask him to raise cotton yarn, and Huang Ruhong came to finish Feng Youru's work. Huang Ruhong admitted this without hesitation. He produced the allocation order given to Director Zhao by the Japanese fifty days ago, but Director Zhao had not yet delivered the goods, while the allocation order Shimazaki Tadashi gave to Cheng Yizhi was for this month.

Huang Ruhong knew that Cheng Yizhi would not be able to justify himself to the Japanese side, leaving him with only one way out: death. Director Zhao arrived soon after. Cheng Yizhi instantly understood everything. Huang Ruhong threatened him with the cotton yarn factory, forcing Director Zhao to expose him. Director Zhao repeatedly apologized to Cheng Yizhi, saying he couldn't bear to lose the factory he had worked so hard to build.

Cheng Yizhi was heartbroken, never expecting that Director Zhao, who had shared life and death with him, would betray him. Huang Ruhong sent Director Zhao away. He negotiated with Cheng Yizhi, promising not to report Cheng Yizhi to the Japanese if Cheng Yizhi was willing to come back and help him.

Huang Ruhong openly exposed Cheng Yizhi for using Rebang Bank as a cover to raise large quantities of cotton yarn and medicine, which he was preparing to transport to the rear using the Pariah steamboat. Huang Ruhong brought Cheng Yizhi to the wharf, intending to hand over the entire ship full of goods to General Secretary Han. Cheng Yizhi could then use the collected evidence to completely bring down Feng Youru.

Cheng Yizhi finally understood Huang Ruhong's true purpose: he used four hundred tons of cotton yarn as bait, but it was actually for this entire ship of goods. Liu Erlang suddenly arrived at the wharf with his troops, pressing Huang Ruhong and Cheng Yizhi hard about their intentions. Cheng Yizhi admitted that Huang Ruhong had discovered that the Pariah steamboat had fabricated illnesses, so he brought him here to confront him. Liu Erlang ordered Cheng Yizhi to be killed.

Huang Ruhong quickly stepped forward to stop him, explaining the stakes to Liu Erlang. If Aomura found out about this, Liu Erlang would be held responsible. Huang Ruhong pleaded with Liu Erlang to hand Cheng Yizhi over to him for full discretion. Liu Erlang wanted to have a private chat with Cheng Yizhi, so Huang Ruhong had no choice but to get in the car first. Before he could even sit still, he was shot dead by Japanese soldiers.

Cheng Yizhi was instantly stunned. interpreter Dou took out the intercepted telegram Huang Ruhong sent to Chongqing. Huang Ruhong exposed Cheng Yizhi for secretly hoarding large quantities of cotton yarn and medicine, preparing to transport them to the rear. interpreter Dou forced Cheng Yizhi to reveal the hidden location of the goods. Cheng Yizhi agreed to confess everything, on the condition that interpreter Dou must be executed.

Cheng Yizhi reported that interpreter Dou was acting in public but opposing in private, colluding with Feng Youru to illicitly sell supplies, and also fabricated telegrams to frame him. Liu Erlang shot interpreter Dou dead on the spot. Xu Shu, Zhou Wenquan, and Wu Lizi slowly approached the Pariah steamboat in a small boat. Xu Shu boarded the ship alone, telling them to wait in the small boat.

Cheng Yizhi brought Liu Erlang to the Pariah steamboat's cargo hold, where there was only one-tenth of the goods. Liu Erlang was greatly angered and pressed him about the whereabouts of the other supplies. Unexpectedly, Cheng Yizhi had already sent people to take them away, and they had now reached the rear.

Cheng Yizhi pretended that the trucks were loaded with laborers who had died of fever, and the Japanese guards dared not inspect them, so the supplies were successfully transported out. Liu Erlang gritted his teeth in anger, drawing his gun to threaten Cheng Yizhi. Xu Shu, hiding on the side, saw everything clearly. He timely fired and hit Liu Erlang. Cheng Yizhi seized the opportunity to jump into the river and escape. Cheng Yizhi swam to the small boat.

Xu Shu fiercely fought with the Japanese soldiers. He shot a large oil drum inside the cargo box, and the cargo ship immediately burst into flames. Xu Shu, Liu Erlang, and others were all engulfed in the fire, leaving Cheng Yizhi heartbroken. Eight months passed in a flash. Japan unconditionally surrendered, and the Anti-Japanese War was declared over. The shareholders and employees of Rebang Bank gathered together to celebrate its reopening.

Cheng Yizhi arrived afterward and publicly pledged to uphold the original intention of establishing the bank and continue to punish evil and promote good. Wu Lizi and Cheng Yizhi took the bank employees to sweep the tombs of the fallen martyrs. Madame Lu handed the design drawings that Xu Shu had entrusted her to keep to Cheng Yizhi, asking him to fulfill Xu Shu's last wish. Gao Xiaocong asked Madame Lu to be his introducer for joining the party.

Madame Lu gladly agreed, firmly believing that one day light would shine on everyone. Finally, Cheng Yizhi, Wu Lizi, Madame Lu, Gao Xiaocong, and others walked side by side towards a bright future.
