The Justice Episode 29 Recap
> The Justice Recap
Dai Ailing asked Cheng Yizhi to clarify things with her family, and Cheng Yizhi readily agreed. Wu Lizi saw the news of Dai Ailing's engagement, and her heart was filled with mixed emotions. Cheng Yizhi and Manager Song of Tongtai Private Bank signed the land transfer agreement. He immediately went to Xu Shu, who then showed him the memorandum from Leizi about Cheng Yizhi signing a contract with Manager Liang.
Xu Shu was furious, never expecting Cheng Yizhi to betray him by asking him to design a building for Sanxin Bank just to help Zhou Wenquan raise money. Cheng Yizhi repeatedly explained that it was an act of desperation, and Rebang Bank had already paid twenty thousand yuan in liquidated damages. Xu Shu complained that he shouldn't have hidden this matter.
Cheng Yizhi didn't want to make things difficult for him and also wanted to protect his innocence, but Xu Shu didn't need that kind of protection. From a young age, Cheng Yizhi understood the hardships of life, and as he grew up, he gradually saw through the darkness of society and the ugliness of human nature.
He knew that Xu Shu grew up in an environment free from worries, with a simple and pure character, and Cheng Yizhi did not want him to be tainted. Xu Shu didn't buy it at all. He had grown up under his father's protection and no longer wanted to live such an empty and ignorant life. In a huff, he decided to leave Cheng Yizhi and pursue his ideals independently from now on.
Xu Shu thanked him for his consistent support and help, gifted all his shares to Rebang Bank, and also rejected the land from Tongtai Private Bank. Rebang Bank launched one hundred and forty thousand yuan in Chen Chen Tung Oil Factory bonds, which the public eagerly subscribed to and quickly sold out. Wu Lizi reported the good news to Cheng Yizhi, and Cheng Yizhi asked her to complete the procedures with Xu Shu as soon as possible.
Liao Qing was pregnant with Gao Dayong's child. She proactively arranged to meet Huang Ruhong, proposing face-to-face that they should keep to their own business, and also advised Huang Ruhong and Luzhu to have a child soon. Xu Shu convened a board meeting and announced his withdrawal from Rebang Bank. Director Zhao quickly changed the subject, inquiring about the wedding date of Cheng Yizhi and Dai Ailing, which Cheng Yizhi covered up with an excuse.
Wu Lizi asked Cheng Yizhi for leave to go to Changsha to accompany Liao Lan during her confinement period. Dai Ailing brought Cheng Yizhi home, and her two sisters urged them to marry. Dai Ailing repeatedly explained that the news in the newspaper was purely baseless, and Cheng Yizhi stepped forward to help Dai Ailing out of the situation. Dai Ailing had already received an invitation letter from a foreign university.
She thanked Cheng Yizhi for his cooperation and help, and Cheng Yizhi congratulated her on achieving her wish. Wu Lizi rushed back from Changsha to report to Cheng Yizhi. Gao Dayong had promised to use the funds raised from the bonds to purchase four new oil presses, but Wu Lizi discovered at the factory that what he bought were not the latest models. She worried that this matter would affect the interests of the creditors and also implicate Rebang Bank.
Dai Ailing stood by, hearing everything clearly. Cheng Yizhi decided to send an accountant to the tung oil factory to audit the accounts. He hastily bid farewell to Dai Ailing and left with Wu Lizi. Cheng Yizhi found out that Gao Dayong's son, Gao Xiaocong, had incurred huge gambling debts, so he directly confronted Gao Dayong to hold him accountable. Gao Dayong brought Cheng Yizhi to the club, where they found Leizi.
Cheng Yizhi learned that Leizi had taken Gao Xiaocong to gamble, causing Gao Xiaocong to accumulate over eighty thousand in gambling debts. Leizi also introduced Gao Xiaocong to two dudes. Cheng Yizhi knew that Leizi was targeting him and Rebang Bank. Cheng Yizhi immediately sought Charlie to discuss countermeasures. Charlie suggested releasing false information to confuse the public, claiming that the two dudes had borrowed gambling debts under Gao Xiaocong's name.
However, it was already too late; individual investors of Chen Chen Tung Oil Factory bonds swarmed Rebang Bank demanding redemption. Cheng Yizhi had no choice but to call Director Zhao and Manager Lin for help. They quickly produced cash, but unexpectedly, Rebang Bank's fixed deposit holders also came to withdraw funds early. Wu Lizi instructed the finance department to place cash boxes on the counter, with real money on top and blank paper underneath, to stabilize public sentiment.
In just one day, Rebang Bank redeemed over thirty thousand yuan in Chen Chen Tung Oil bonds and withdrew over twenty thousand yuan in savings. Rebang Bank's shareholders generously helped Cheng Yizhi out of his predicament, but over 230 people were still stranded outside the bank.
Wu Lizi predicted that tomorrow, an additional sixty thousand yuan of Chen Chen bonds would need to be redeemed, and savings would amount to two hundred and fifty thousand yuan, leading to a cash deficit of up to two hundred and twenty thousand yuan. Cheng Yizhi decided to borrow money tomorrow and have Wu Lizi guard the bank. Cheng Yizhi went to Mr. Chen early in the morning for help. Mr. Chen promised to allocate one hundred thousand for emergencies.
When Rebang Bank opened for business, depositors and individual investors clogged the hall, making it impossible to pass. Wu Lizi personally came forward to persuade everyone, but the scene was in chaos. Mr. Chen brought Cheng Yizhi to attend the Shanghai Bank board meeting. The shareholders unanimously demanded that Cheng Yizhi get rid of the big trouble of Chen Chen Tung Oil Factory. Cheng Yizhi could not stand by and do nothing.
Mr. Chen asked Cheng Yizhi to wait for news in the office while they discussed and made a decision. There were still three hours until closing, and Rebang Bank's accounts had very little left. The financial supervisor suggested closing early, but Wu Lizi worried about causing greater unrest and didn't know what to do, so she could only wait for news from Cheng Yizhi.
After discussion among the shareholders, it was decided to transfer three hundred thousand yuan in financial support to Rebang Bank. Should an unexpected situation arise, Shanghai Bank would be willing to acquire Rebang Bank, accepting all its debts and bonds. Cheng Yizhi was immensely grateful to Mr. Chen. Cheng Yizhi immediately rushed back to the bank and dispatched everyone to prepare separately.
Unexpectedly, the newspaper exposed Cheng Yizhi's lot and the matter of him having used the cheque to cover up the murderer, Zheng Shanfeng. This caused a huge uproar. Mr. Chen was held accountable by the shareholders. Dai Ailing saw the news in the newspaper and was instantly stunned. Mr. Chen called Cheng Yizhi to inform him that Dai Ailing had broken off their relationship and would be going abroad to study immediately.
Shanghai Bank would also no longer add three hundred thousand yuan in funds and and had canceled its acquisition plan. Subsequently, the Bank Association and the Monetary Industry Association also expelled Cheng Yizhi and Rebang Bank. Huang Ruhong arrived at the entrance of Rebang Bank, saw the depositors and individual investors jamming the doorway, and quietly left in his car. The finance department brought out the last of the cash.
Cheng Yizhi instructed Wu Lizi to issue a notice that Rebang Bank's bankruptcy and liquidation meeting would be held tonight. Jin Yishan sent his son to find Cheng Yizhi. Cheng Yizhi immediately rushed to the hospital. Jin Yishan understood his feeling of having his pain dug up and was willing to contribute all his money to help Cheng Yizhi. Wu Lizi announced the news of Rebang Bank's bankruptcy to everyone, promising them corresponding compensation.
The employees didn't believe the bank would collapse and didn't want to leave. Huang Ruhong specifically waited for Cheng Yizhi at the hospital entrance and exposed face-to-face that Cheng Yizhi had not been there for his mother's final moments; his mother's death was only discovered by neighbors seven days later when her body had begun to decompose. Huang Ruhong had initially wanted to return his mother's ashes to Cheng Yizhi, but Cheng Yizhi unexpectedly took him to his mother's cenotaph.
Huang Ruhong exposed Cheng Yizhi's hypocrisy, personally returned the ashes to Cheng Yizhi, and advised Cheng Yizhi to come back and help him, promising to keep Rebang Bank from going bankrupt.
