On their wedding day, Mo Yanchen reflected that fulfilling his lifelong wish felt different than he had imagined. Although it was difficult for Mo Lian Cheng, Mo Yanchen knew that for himself and Qu Xiaotan, this night would be sleepless. An intoxicated Qu Xiaotan went to Mo Lian Cheng's bridal chamber but found him missing. Annoyed, she ordered her servants to find him. Mo Lian Cheng, however, was hiding in Mo Yanchen's room.
When Qu Xiaotan arrived, she was surprised to find them in a compromising position, with Mo Lian Cheng on Mo Yanchen's lap. Worried, Mo Yanchen urged Mo Lian Cheng to leave, but Qu Xiaotan interrupted, telling them to continue. This familiar scene triggered Mo Lian Cheng to transform, and feeling overwhelmed, he pulled Qu Xiaotan away. Mo Lian Cheng realized Qu Xiaotan had been imagining an elaborate scenario.
When she saw that he had transformed back to his usual self, Qu Xiaotan was overjoyed. She moved to kiss him but stopped, suddenly realizing that every time they kissed, Mo Lian Cheng would change back. Unable to kiss him normally, Qu Xiaotan suggested using a red handkerchief as a barrier. She even pondered whether to call him her "beloved consort" or "beloved husband." Meanwhile, Her Majesty suffered a relapse from a previous disease. Xiao Zhen believed she was distressed by Mo Lian Cheng's wedding, but Her Majesty clarified that the man who could move her deeply was not present, though she couldn't help but remember him today. Mo Yanchen brought him a tonic, believing it was his first time being favored and he needed to replenish his strength. She began to suspect that Mo Yanchen was the trigger for his transformation. As Qu Xiaotan, Mo Lian Cheng, and Mo Yanchen prepared for their return visit to the Mo residence, Qu Xiaotan, knowledgeable about the etiquette, advised Mo Lian Cheng to be careful. Their father noticed Qu Xiaotan's sprained waist and began to reprimand Mo Yanchen. However, Mo Lian Cheng confessed that he, not his older brother, was responsible. Mo Feng Yang then questioned why Qu Xiaotan was not in the main Prince Consort's room on her wedding night, deeming it inappropriate.
Qu Xiaotan angrily retorted that Mo Feng Yang was overstepping, stating that she had slept alone. She explained that even with the handkerchief, Mo Lian Cheng had transformed back, and in his altered state, he had pushed her, causing her to sprain her waist. Qu Xiaotan declared that her Prince Consorts did not require their instruction, shot a fierce glare at Mo Feng Yang, and then left with the two men.
Both Mo Yanchen and Mo Lian Cheng simultaneously offered to help Qu Xiaotan onto the carriage, filling her with a sense of triumph. However, before she could get on, Mo Lian Cheng withdrew his hand. Back at the mansion, Qu Xiaotan received many presents from Her Majesty, including a specific gift that required her to open it personally. Upon opening it, she discovered it was the Imperial Token and quickly hid it. Mo Lian Cheng thanked Qu Xiaotan for speaking up for him. Qu Xiaotan, in turn, playfully demanded he escort her back to her room and then serve her tea once there.
Mo Lian Cheng dutifully complied, giving Qu Xiaotan an opportunity to tease him. Accidentally, Qu Xiaotan dropped the Imperial Token, and Mo Lian Cheng clearly saw it. He then suggested an outing to the lake the next day, insisting that Mo Yanchen should also join them. The next day, Qu Xiaotan eagerly waited in the outskirts for Mo Lian Cheng, but to her disappointment, it was Mo Yanchen who arrived.
Not wanting to make Mo Yanchen feel bad, Qu Xiaotan resolved to enjoy their outing with him. Meanwhile, Mo Lian Cheng secretly entered Qu Xiaotan's room. He believed the Imperial Token could help them mobilize troops for a major endeavor and, feeling regretful towards Qu Xiaotan, intended to steal it, only to find the token was not in her room. While Qu Xiaotan and Mo Yanchen were together, Mo Yanchen performed a sword dance for her.
He noticed her troubled expression and pulled her into a dance, encouraging her to vent her frustrations. Just then, Mo Lian Cheng arrived, stating he needed to speak with Qu Xiaotan alone. Mo Yanchen and Jing Xin then boarded the carriage to wait. Mo Lian Cheng immediately asked Qu Xiaotan where the Imperial Token was. Qu Xiaotan, in a fit of pique, declared that she had pawned it.
