The previous episode saw Mo Lian Cheng (MLC) reassuring Qu Xiaotan (QXT) of his eternal love, promising to find and marry her countless times across all timelines. They kissed, but MLC suddenly switched personas. QXT, annoyed, immediately confronted him. MLC, now in a different state, questioned if the Empress had approved their plan for him to be her concubine and Mo Yanchen (MYC) her primary consort.

QXT confirmed this with a playful taunt, which led MLC to ponder if this outcome, achieved while his memories were lost, was a blessing or a curse. Mo Yanchen, observing their interaction, intervened, mistaking MLC's state for anger towards QXT. He gently pulled MLC away, assuring QXT that he knew she was wronged and would compensate her for MLC's behavior. Later, Mo Yanchen and MLC met with their father, who was pleased with the Empress's marriage decree.

Mo Yanchen, believing MLC held affection for the Empress (QXT), advised him to move on from the past and face the present with grace. MLC, however, firmly stated he had no romantic feelings for QXT and no intention of competing with Mo Yanchen. Mo Yanchen insisted he understood MLC's feelings but cautioned him against speaking ill of his future wife, emphasizing the need for mutual support to avoid gossip.

He then raised concerns about the upcoming virginity inspection, subtly asking if MLC was still "intact" despite late-night summons to the Empress's palace. MLC avoided a direct answer. Mo Feng Yang, MLC's sister, then appeared, offering to find a way for only Mo Yanchen to marry QXT if MLC wished to withdraw. She warned him to plan ahead if he anticipated trouble. MLC, suspicious, asked if she truly cared for him or merely the Mo family's reputation.

Mo Feng Yang reiterated her warning for him to face the consequences if he was stubborn. Meanwhile, Qu Xiaotan lamented to Jing Xin about the burdensome wedding preparations. Jing Xin mentioned the virginity inspection, surprising QXT who learned it applied to men and that failure could lead to execution. Worried about MLC, especially given his unique condition and potential past with the Empress, QXT questioned the Empress's true intentions in granting the marriage.

She secretly wrote a letter to MLC, promising to stand guard with Jing Xin during the inspection and to rescue him if necessary, declaring him her "Cheng Cheng" regardless of his virginity status. Receiving the letter, MLC was deeply moved, feeling a familiar heartache and recognizing imagery of a "Sakura tree" from his memories. The name "Tan Er" flashed in his mind, making him wonder about his profound connection to QXT.

The next day, Qu Xiaotan and Jing Xin waited impatiently outside the Virginity Inspection Bureau. After a long wait, QXT, worried, burst inside. She found MLC, who had already switched back to his original self. Their intimate moment was interrupted by Mo Feng Yang, who forcefully entered, reminding QXT that seeing the groom before the wedding was a grave taboo that the Mo family could not afford. MLC, desperate to see QXT before another memory loss, was taken away.

He was then visited by his father, who MLC almost addressed as "Father Emperor." Mo Father, upset about the stir before the wedding, locked MLC in his room to reflect. MLC, now alone, recognized his father's relentless pursuit of power, a pattern that, even in this alternate world, threatened to repeat the tragedies of their past. Later that night, Qu Xiaotan secretly snuck into MLC's room, using her skills to pick the lock.

She praised him for maintaining his original persona for an extended period, while he playfully complimented her lock-picking abilities. Their reunion quickly led to another passionate kiss, but MLC transformed yet again. The new MLC, visibly agitated, accused QXT of using "voodoo tricks" on him, claiming he couldn't control his actions around her. QXT scoffed, reminding him they had a child together and a kiss was trivial.

To prove her point, she revealed a secret mole on his left inner thigh. Furious, MLC accused her of bribing the virginity inspectors to spy on him and stormed out. Frustrated by MLC's constant shifts, QXT confided in Jing Xin, who remarked on the unpredictable nature of men. QXT then decided to redesign her backyard into a "Snow Court," a name and layout identical to their former residence, evoking bittersweet memories of her past happiness with MLC.

Unaware of QXT's intentions, MLC's attendant, Yun Ying, informed him of the "Snow Court" arrangement, interpreting it as QXT's deliberate attempt to "cold shoulder" him. MLC, however, felt an inexplicable heartache and found the name "Snow Court" profoundly familiar. Meanwhile, wedding attire arrived for both Mo Yanchen and MLC. Mo Yanchen's robe was simpler, but he expressed contentment, stating that marrying his beloved was his only desire and forbidding Yun Ying from comparing their attire.

Soon after, Qu Meier arrived, presenting Mo Yanchen with a lavish, intricately embroidered wedding robe. Mo Yanchen politely refused, reiterating his happiness and advising her to seek love elsewhere. Qu Meier, however, remained steadfast in her affection, reminiscing about a poem he had once written at Jingyi Pavilion, which had captured her heart: "Pearl and jade piece together as one. . .

Winding stream cup-floating game, yet one doesn't get drunk, ink writings of a thousand autumns, who could ever forget?" On the day of the wedding, Mo Lian Cheng, dressed in his ceremonial robes, was struck by a profound sense of déjà vu. The entire scene felt eerily familiar, leading him to wonder if he truly had a forgotten past with Qu Xiaotan.
