The Eternal Love 3 Episode 14 Recap
> The Eternal Love 3 Recap
Xiao Zhen led his men to Liu Bai Shui’s home. Liu Bai Shui, believing Qu Xiaotan had sent them for revenge, quickly tried to explain that any issues with the medicine were due to the wrong one being taken, and his payment absolved him of responsibility. Xiao Zhen, however, was trying to gather information and pressed him about who the medicine was for.
Liu Bai Shui, feigning ignorance, claimed to be a recluse who avoided high-ranking officials and that the medicine's purpose was a secret. Xiao Zhen, concluding Liu Bai Shui was a fraud yet noting Qu Xiaotan's involvement, paid him a sum of money, hinting at future favors, and then departed. Liu Bai Shui, considering the difficulty of his business, contemplated leaving with the money but was startled by Jing Xin’s sudden appearance.
Xiao Zhen later reported to Her Majesty that Qu Xiaotan had sought medicine from Liu Bai Shui for Mo Lian Cheng. Her Majesty confirmed her suspicion that this Mo Lian Cheng was not the one she knew. Meanwhile, as Qu Xiaotan and Mo Lian Cheng were affectionately spending time together, Jing Xin arrived to report on Xiao Zhen’s visit to Liu Bai Shui. Qu Xiaotan, angered, denounced Liu Bai Shui as a traitor.
Mo Lian Cheng, unaware of Liu Bai Shui, prompted Qu Xiaotan to explain about the fake medicine incident. She then clarified that this man was definitely not Liu Qian Shui, the true Liu Qian Shui being a sage from the Xuanling Continent who sought the Soul-guarding Pearl's host and had given her the Soul-parting Flute. Both Mo Lian Cheng and Jing Xin were baffled by her explanation. Jing Xin then brought Liu Bai Shui, tied up, before Qu Xiaotan.
Qu Xiaotan interrogated him about Liu Qian Shui, but Liu Bai Shui claimed no knowledge of such a person in his family, insisting his name was Liu Bai Shui and his father was Liu Hei Shui, with no "Qian" in their lineage. Exasperated, Qu Xiaotan ordered Jing Xin to hand him over to the authorities.
Mo Lian Cheng intervened, suggesting that sending him to the authorities would lead to interrogation by Her Majesty and potentially expose their secrets, so he proposed silencing Liu Bai Shui permanently. Frightened, Liu Bai Shui pleaded for a chance to redeem himself, boasting about his knowledge of astrology, which he claimed Qu Xiaotan could utilize. Qu Xiaotan agreed to give him another chance. Qu Xiaotan and Mo Lian Cheng had Jing Xin untie Liu Bai Shui.
Liu Bai Shui suggested that Mo Lian Cheng might regain his memories by reliving past events in similar environments. He slyly hinted at "unspeakable scenes" that might trigger a memory, prompting a blushing Qu Xiaotan to send him and Jing Xin away. Qu Xiaotan then had Jing Xin dig a large pit overnight, after which she sent Jing Xin and Yu Hao away.
Qu Xiaotan tried to persuade Mo Lian Cheng to jump into the pit with her, suggesting they recreate a past fall where he acted as her cushion. Mo Lian Cheng found the idea illogical and refused, citing his lack of martial arts and inability to protect her if they got hurt. Qu Xiaotan was disappointed, lamenting her inability to help him regain his memories. Mo Lian Cheng, sensing her sadness, reassured her that his memory loss didn't matter to him.
Later that evening, Mo Lian Cheng, pondering Qu Xiaotan's feelings, wondered if she loved him or merely the memories of the past. Qu Xiaotan found him looking troubled. She reminded him that it was June 17, their first wedding anniversary. Qu Xiaotan listed their three anniversaries, but Mo Lian Cheng, only wishing to celebrate their current union, expressed his disinterest in the previous two he couldn't remember.
Qu Xiaotan, respecting his wishes, then told him about their adorable son, Yu Er. Unable to draw Yu Er herself, she described him, and Mo Lian Cheng drew a strikingly accurate portrait. Seeing the drawing, Mo Lian Cheng expressed profound sadness, feeling unworthy as a father for not remembering his son. Qu Xiaotan, in turn, complained about his past absence, saying she felt like she was raising Yu Er as a single parent.
Mo Lian Cheng, unwilling to discuss past actions he couldn't recall, became upset. Their argument ended unhappily, with Mo Lian Cheng departing for his room, stating he was tired. Mo Yanchen, hearing about the argument between Qu Xiaotan and Mo Lian Cheng, felt responsible. As it began to rain, he went to check on Qu Xiaotan, remembering her childhood fear of thunder.
Meanwhile, Mo Lian Cheng stood alone under a cherry blossom tree, burdened by his amnesia and the fear of not living up to Qu Xiaotan’s memories of him. Mo Yanchen visited Qu Xiaotan, offering comfort and assuring her of his unconditional love, regardless of her memory. His words resonated deeply with Qu Xiaotan, who realized Mo Lian Cheng's true struggle. She rushed to find him under the cherry blossom tree.
Mo Lian Cheng confessed his weariness of trying to remember the past. Qu Xiaotan, embracing him, declared her unwavering love and assured him that his memories didn't matter; he was the man she had chosen, her constant support. She proposed they create new memories together, starting with a heartfelt kiss under the cherry blossom tree. The next day, under clear skies, Qu Xiaotan and Mo Lian Cheng went for an outing.
Qu Xiaotan, enchanted by the scenery, proposed buying the land to develop it into a tourist destination, an "investment in the love market" to create more new memories and make money together. Mo Lian Cheng playfully teased her about the high cost of such a memory. She asserted that the price was small for their new memories, but he stopped her, revealing that her choosing him over money was a precious new memory, something his past self had never witnessed.
Meanwhile, Mo Yanchen, oblivious to their joy, furiously practiced swordplay alone. His attendant urged him to stop, pointing out that Qu Xiaotan and Mo Lian Cheng had spent the entire day together and she clearly didn't care for him. Mo Yanchen, however, insisted on practicing, believing that perfecting his swordplay to her liking would eventually win her affection, despite his attendant's insistence that she didn't care. That night, Qu Xiaotan visited Mo Yanchen in his room to propose a divorce.
He desperately pulled her into a hug, confessing his silent longing for her affection and recalling her childhood promise to make him her prince consort, wishing to be with her till the end of time. He questioned why she was now ignoring him and refusing his touch, asking what he had done wrong.
Qu Xiaotan explained that the divorce was the best choice for all three of them, assuring him it was not a rejection and promising him a good life afterward. Mo Yanchen, heartbroken, declared his love for her an incurable disease. Qu Xiaotan, expressing her fear of hurting him further by continuing their marriage, could only apologize and left him alone in despair.
