Xu Miyu travels to Ubustan to surprise her husband, Nie Yucheng, who is there on a business trip. Arriving a day early for their tenth wedding anniversary, she heads to the Siwei Hotel to check in. The receptionist is visibly conflicted because the system shows Yucheng checked in the previous night with another woman named Lu Zhenzhen. Before the situation escalates, the hotel's acting general manager, Ji Feng, steps in to handle the situation.
To buy Yucheng time to clear the room, Ji Feng escorts Miyu to the suite at a leisurely pace, distracting her with a story about the hotel’s art pieces made from red wine bottles. When they reach the door, Yucheng is alone. He acts surprised and claims his company, Changyang Travel Agency, is a valued partner, which is why he was upgraded to a deluxe suite.
To celebrate their anniversary, Yucheng asks Ji Feng to arrange a premium candlelight dinner and a bottle of rare Screaming Eagle red wine. A problem arises when a server realizes the last bottle of Screaming Eagle was just purchased by another guest, Gray Tino. Ji Feng intervenes, finding Tino frustrated by the hotel's attempts to delay his purchase. Recognizing Tino’s expertise, Ji Feng offers him a rare 1968 Haut-Brion—the guest's birth year—as a gesture of respect.
This move satisfies Tino and secures the Screaming Eagle for Yucheng’s dinner. During the anniversary meal, Ji Feng personally serves the couple. Miyu is impressed by the service and suggests a commemorative photo. As Yucheng pulls out his phone, Lu Zhenzhen approaches their table, pretending to be a fellow guest and offering to take the picture. While Miyu is touched by the stranger's kindness, Yucheng is incredibly tense.
After taking the photo, Lu Zhenzhen returns to her own table, and Yucheng struggles to maintain his composure. The evening takes a distressing turn back in their suite. As the couple prepares for bed, Miyu’s hair gets caught in something under the pillow, leading her to discover a pair of women’s underwear. Yucheng panics, claiming it must be a mistake by the cleaning staff. Miyu insists on an explanation and summons the housekeeper, Natalie.
Although Natalie insists the room was checked, Ji Feng arrives and takes responsibility for the "oversight" to protect the hotel’s relationship with Changyang. He "demotes" Natalie on the spot and offers the couple a complimentary high-end desert excursion to make amends. Later that night, Miyu finds a lipstick stain on the collar of one of Yucheng’s shirts, deepening her unease.
The next morning, Miyu seeks out Ji Feng and offers to help facilitate the partnership between Changyang and the hotel in exchange for the hallway surveillance footage. Ji Feng politely declines, citing privacy policies, and reassures her that her bond with her husband is strong. Yucheng later meets with Ji Feng to discuss travel routes before the couple returns home. While Ji Feng is recognized as the Outstanding Manager of the Year, his triumph is short-lived.
The hotel group appoints a new manager, Andy Smith, as a rival candidate for the permanent General Manager position. Despite Ji Feng's track record, the board suggests he might be sent to develop a new market in South Africa instead. Back home, Miyu finds her sister and brother-in-law, Yao Zhigang, using her house to host a home visit from an international school. They used Miyu’s address on the application to impress the recruiters.
Yucheng is annoyed by the deception, but Miyu asks him to be patient. During the visit, the sister reveals in a private conversation that Miyu is not their father's biological child and only works hard to please the family. During dinner, the sister's family shows no sign of leaving. Yucheng, feeling uncomfortable and claiming he has urgent work and an early flight the next day, tells Miyu he will spend the night at a hotel near his office.
Later that night, Yucheng sends a message asking Miyu to bring him a suit in the morning. Hoping to support him, Miyu arrives at the hotel early, only to have Lu Zhenzhen answer the door, confirming her husband's double life.
