Ye Qi hurried to the café where he was supposed to meet Gong Jian, only to find out that Gong Jian had already been fired by Qian Ye. Ye Qi couldn’t understand this and wanted to go confront Abyss on Gong Jian’s behalf, but Gong Jian didn’t want to hinder Ye Qi’s future and told him not to stop updating his comic, then turned and left. Ye Qi quickly found Qian Ye and asked why he had done this.
Qian Ye showed him the online comments about the comics Gong Jian was responsible for, which were mostly negative, and the performance was poor. Only the comic drawn by Ye Qi had just barely passed the acceptable line. In a fit of anger, Ye Qi even considered giving up. However, he had already signed a contract with the publishing house.
If he stopped drawing, it would be considered a breach of contract, and he would have to pay a high penalty. At that moment, Gong Jian also sent a message encouraging Ye Qi to keep drawing and not stop updating. Ye Qi negotiated with Qian Ye, agreeing to continue the comic following Qian Ye’s direction, with the only condition being that Gong Jian be allowed to return to work. Qian Ye readily agreed.
Zuo Qiandai told Zhou Jieyue everything about the confession. She guessed that Ye Qi was also planning to confess but got interrupted. Zuo Qiandai then tried to find out the progress between Zhou Jieyue and Jiang Ruosong. Just as Zhou Jieyue and Zuo Qiandai were about to leave, Jiang Ruosong suddenly appeared and revealed that Zhou Jieyue was actually Lorelei. Ye Qi returned home, racking his brain trying to continue drawing the comic.
But because the story was completely different from his own ideas, he couldn’t come up with any lines for the characters. Zuo Qiandai came to find Ye Qi and discovered that he was working on his comic. She guessed that Ye Qi might be facing a creative block and was in low spirits, so she worried about him.

After being fired, Gong Jian kept looking for a job but hadn’t found a suitable one. Ye Qi went to visit Gong Jian and followed him to his home. Gong Jian’s grandmother didn’t even know he had been fired and still thought he was working. Ye Qi handed the new manuscript to Qian Ye, but Qian Ye didn’t fulfill his promise to bring Gong Jian back. This angered Ye Qi.
Zuo Qiandai also learned from Chai Ziyu that Ye Qi had gone to submit his work today. Worried that things might not go smoothly for Ye Qi, she checked her phone and found that Ye Qi’s comic had already stopped updating. Zuo Qiandai, along with Chai Ziyu, Gu Zhengxing, and Jiang Ruosong, went to Ye Qi’s home to look for him, afraid something had happened.
Jiang Ruosong analyzed that Ye Qi might have been kidnapped and said the kidnapper would call soon. Just as he finished speaking, someone called Zuo Qiandai—but it turned out to be a scam call. Zuo Qiandai dialed the landline number Ye Qi had left behind, which was Ye Qi’s home number, but Ye Qi wasn’t there. She asked about the halted comic updates and finally learned the reason. Everyone supported Ye Qi’s decision, and he also left the payment for them.
