Because Lin Guixiang had helped her a lot before, Nan Ya was very grateful. This time, she made some money from clothing orders and immediately took out a portion to return to Lin Guixiang, stating that the rest would be repaid within two months. Lin Guixiang was not in a hurry to get it back at all.

She casually revealed to Nan Ya that Hu Xiu was planning to buy a house, feeling that if Nan Ya could get her house back, she would at least have a place to stay even if she left Xu Yi in the future. The town was going to show a public movie, and Zhou Luo proactively invited Nan Ya to watch it together. Just as Zhou Luo left Nan Ya's clothing store, Zhang Qingli walked out from the corner. Soon after, Xu Yi personally came to find Nan Ya. He discovered the photos Zhou Luo took of her, but because he still had a mess to deal with, he didn't bother questioning the identity of the lover but instead begged Nan Ya to help him get through the difficult time. Nan Ya proposed that Xu Yi sign the divorce agreement.

To her surprise, Xu Yi agreed readily. He then immediately asked to borrow Nan Ya's ID card, wanting to use her identity to register a company and transfer illicit money. Facing this request, Nan Ya did not agree and warned Xu Yi to surrender himself as soon as possible. Xu Yi became furious, directly snatched the signed divorce agreement, and reminded Nan Ya that if she wanted a divorce, she had to exchange it for her ID card.

On this day, everyone celebrated Zhou Luo's birthday, talking and laughing, singing the birthday song, but Zhou Luo responded listlessly, lacking interest. After much consideration, Nan Ya still went to the wooden bridge to wait for Zhou Luo. Sure enough, Zhou Luo ran there in a hurry. The moment he saw Nan Ya, he felt relieved and happily brought out the things he had prepared.

Zhou Luo made a wish over the cake candles, hoping that Nan Ya could get to know him again with the feelings of a nineteen-year-old, or that he and Nan Ya could one day walk openly on the street together.

Nan Ya felt that neither of these wishes could come true, but Zhou Luo stated that he was going to switch to a computer science major and would work hard to earn money after graduation to bring Nan Ya and Wan Wan to live in Beijing, asking her to let go of everything she had now and become a happy woman. Listening to Zhou Luo's words, Nan Ya was moved to tears.

She took out a wristband she had knitted from her pocket and gave it to him as a gift. Afterwards, Nan Ya took Zhou Luo to an abandoned swimming pool. The spot they were standing on was once the pool, and it was where she had wanted to end her life back then. The nineteen-year-old Nan Ya had experienced too much misfortune, felt that the future was bleak, and tied her ankles with a rope to drown herself.
