Cheng Yanan sought out Sun Hao to inquire about any past grievances between his mother and her father, but Sun Hao responded that his mother had never mentioned such a thing. As Sun Hao was about to leave, a girl handed him a cup of milk tea. However, the note on the tea indicated it was for Cheng Yanan, prompting Sun Hao to marvel at her popularity even among her own gender.

Sun Hao then asked Cheng Yanan if girls typically preferred refined boys like Ming Tian, a notion Cheng Yanan dismissed, discerning his affections for Fang Yu, which Sun Hao vehemently denied. Ming Tian's landlord informed him that he and his siblings needed to move out quickly because someone had offered a good price to buy the house. Devastated, Ming Tian quickly urged his younger brother and sister to sleep, vowing to figure things out himself.

The next day, after packing their belongings, Ming Tian called Fang Yu. She mentioned helping fix the electricity at his place, but Ming Tian, looking at his packed bags, declined. He intended to tell her about his move but was interrupted by Fang Zhou on the other end of the line. After hanging up, Fang Yu left for a meeting, while Ming Tian called Sun Hao.

Meanwhile, Fang Yu visited a dessert shop, ordering a low-sugar cream cake for her grandfather, who couldn't have anything too sweet. He Xiaofeng pushed herself to the brink of exhaustion training at the boxing club. Luo Guanyan attempted to persuade her to ease up, but she rebuffed him sharply. He Xiaofeng revealed her determination to win against Fang Yu, explaining that this year's competition was her last before her TOEFL exam next year.

Luo Guanyan offered to coach her, emphasizing his view of her as a friend and partner, which He Xiaofeng gratefully accepted. At his company, Fang Zhou discovered the contract for his grandfather's purchase of Ming Tian's rented house, immediately sensing foul play. Ming Tian, along with Ming Zhu and Ming Lang, temporarily moved into Sun Hao's home.

Sun Hao's mother, Hao Ma, welcomed the three siblings warmly and offered Ming Tian a job at her noodle stall to help him cover daily expenses. However, Hao Ma also cautioned Ming Tian, noting that his successive job losses and even the repossession of his home were no mere coincidences. Ming Tian then received a call from Fang Zhou and rushed to meet him.

Fang Zhou confirmed his suspicions after visiting the closed car wash and coffee shop where Ming Tian used to work. Fang Zhou pleaded with Ming Tian not to tell Fang Yu about their grandfather's involvement, and Ming Tian agreed, unwilling to cause a rift between Fang Yu and her grandfather because of himself. Elsewhere, Luo Guanyan encountered a mysterious individual who challenged him, but Luo Guanyan refused.

Later, representatives from the Fang Group approached Hao Ma, offering to buy her house and noodle stall. Upon learning that Ming Tian and his siblings had moved in with Sun Hao, Song Xiaomi grew anxious and hurried to Sun Hao's house to check on them. As Hao Ma was being cornered by the Fang Group's representatives, Cheng Dad suddenly appeared with a bottle of medicated wine, staging a dramatic rescue, though he ended up hurting his back.

Hao Ma helped him inside and attentively massaged his back. Cheng Dad seized the opportunity to surreptitiously check the sole of her foot, only to find the mole he remembered was gone, making him wonder if his eyesight had deceived him previously. Sun Hao and Song Xiaomi then arrived. Seeing the Fang Group's business card, Song Xiaomi grew furious and stormed out.

Cheng Dad then caught sight of Hao Ma's other foot, and the seven moles he remembered came into view, leaving him speechless with emotion. Outside, Sun Hao stopped an enraged Song Xiaomi from telling Ming Tian that the Fang Group was responsible for his troubles. He asked if she had considered how sad Ming Tian would be to learn that his misfortunes were caused by Fang Yu's family.

Song Xiaomi retorted, asking if they should just stand by and let Ming Tian be bullied. Sun Hao clarified that wasn't what he meant, suggesting that as friends, they should prioritize Ming Tian and Fang Yu's feelings. Song Xiaomi, however, declared she couldn't just watch Ming Tian get bullied and stated she would go to the source of the problem. Fang Yu went to Ming Tian's previous rental home, only to find he had moved.

She inquired with the new tenant, who brusquely stated she didn't know where he had gone and hurried Fang Yu away. Just then, Fang Yu received a call from Song Xiaomi. Meanwhile, Ma Yichen engaged in high-intensity training at the boxing club, haunted by Ming Tian's challenging words. Friends tried to distract him, noting the finals didn't concern him and the vice-president was already chosen, questioning who he was training for.

They gossiped that he'd sought training from the ex-president, who had only advised him to learn the basics, a suggestion they found foolish. Ma Yichen's determination to defeat Ming Tian, his "new goal," spurred him on. Later, Ma Yichen was ambushed by a mysterious assailant who asked for his name before brutally attacking him. In the emergency department, Luo Guanyan found Ma Yichen with several broken ribs.

Ma Yichen recounted the ambush, noting he couldn't see the attacker's face but recognized his fighting style as that of a martial arts student. Luo Guanyan and He Xiaofeng discussed the unusual attack, with Luo Guanyan advising He Xiaofeng to be extra cautious as the finals neared, offering to be her sparring partner. Back at Zhengze Academy, Song Xiaomi formally challenged Fang Yu according to school rules.

Fang Yu accepted, instructing Sun Hao to block the entrance to prevent others from entering. Fang Yu warned Song Xiaomi not to bully Ming Tian, but Song Xiaomi asserted that if Ming Tian wasn't with Fang Yu, he wouldn't be suffering so many misfortunes. Fang Yu, confused, asked what had happened to Ming Tian and who had hurt him. Song Xiaomi then revealed that Ming Tian had lost his home and jobs because of Fang Yu.

Fang Yu vehemently denied it, but Song Xiaomi insisted Fang Yu knew the truth in her heart. Their fight escalated, with Fang Yu telling Song Xiaomi to stay away from Ming Tian and Song Xiaomi retorting the same. Sun Hao, witnessing the intensity of their battle, rushed to get Cheng Yanan. Cheng Yanan arrived just as Song Xiaomi declared her determination not to give up on Ming Tian.

Trying to intervene, Cheng Yanan inadvertently took punches and kicks from both of them, complaining that she "almost lost her life" trying to stop their argument. Fang Yu confronted Sun Hao for getting Cheng Yanan involved, but he explained he couldn't stop them himself. Cheng Yanan then asked Fang Yu if Song Xiaomi's claims about Ming Tian were true. Fang Yu, without directly answering, ran off.

Fang Yu rushed home and confronted her grandfather, who admitted to orchestrating Ming Tian's misfortunes. Fang Yu expressed profound disappointment, rejecting his claims of acting for her own good. She brought up the painful memory of her grandfather dismissing Uncle Ji, lamenting that if Uncle Ji hadn't left, he wouldn't have died, a lifelong regret for her. Her grandfather then dropped a bombshell: Ming Tian's father, Ming Hai, was the one who killed Uncle Ji.

Fang Yu's eyes widened in shock, her mind reeling, and she immediately went to find Ming Tian. Fang Zhou, witnessing his sister's distress, pleaded with their grandfather to stop hurting Fang Yu and persecuting Ming Tian. He acknowledged that Ming Hai killing Ji Gang was the truth, but argued that since his sister liked Ming Tian, they shouldn't add salt to her wounds and should at least let Ming Tian and his siblings not wander homeless.

Fang Yu found Ming Tian and, in emotional turmoil, asked him if his father was a boxer, if he participated in a competition in Macau, if he killed someone there, and if his specialty was the "Death Strike." Ming Tian, confused by her sudden questions, confirmed all of it, asking how it related to her fight with her grandfather.

Fang Yu then tearfully revealed that the person his father killed was Uncle Ji, the person who cared for her the most. Later, Ming Tian texted Fang Yu, expressing worry for her after their emotional confrontation. Fang Yu texted back, saying she was fine but felt they both needed to calm down and take a break from seeing each other for a while. Ming Tian understood and wished her well.

At Ji Gang's grave, Fang Yu recalled cherished memories of her Uncle Ji, who always encouraged her to smile and face life's challenges. She remembered their smiling competition, where the loser had to grant the winner a wish, and his wish for her to smile as he left. Crying at his grave, Fang Yu desperately asked Uncle Ji what she should do.

Cheng Yanan later spoke with Fang Yu, revealing that despite his father's attempts to teach him the "Death Strike," Ming Tian refused to learn it for Fang Yu's sake. Cheng Yanan argued that Ming Tian was willing to make sacrifices for her, and questioned why Fang Yu couldn't let go of the past generation's grudges.

She reminded Fang Yu that as an MMA fighter, she should know that fights in the ring often result in "you die, I live," with no one truly right or wrong. Cheng Yanan concluded that what happened with Ming Tian's father was "bad luck" and that it was unfair to burden Ming Tian with responsibility for an event that happened years ago, especially since the law had found his father not guilty.

Meanwhile, back at the noodle stall, Cheng Dad recognized Ming Tian as the son of his senior disciple, Ming Hai, expressing his delight and surprise at the connection. He saw it as a sign that Ming Hai wanted him to care for Ming Tian and promised to prevent Ming Tian from enduring hardships alone. Ming Tian thanked him but insisted he could handle things.

Cheng Dad noted Ming Tian's stubbornness, just like his father, and praised Ming Hai as the most accomplished disciple, lamenting the tragedy that befell him. When Cheng Yanan pointed out Ming Tian's sadness, Cheng Dad dropped the topic. However, he soon insisted that Ming Tian should follow in his father's footsteps as an MMA athlete and offered to personally train him in their discipline's secret technique, the "Death Strike."

Ming Tian firmly refused, explaining that while he understood the nature of fighting in the arena, his father's special move had caused a death, shattered their family, made Fang Yu lose someone dear, and even affected their relationship. He concluded that he couldn't forgive the move for what it had done and hoped these tragedies would end with him.

Cheng Dad respected his decision but suggested that the deep connection between Ming Tian and Fang Yu might be destiny's way for them to resolve the grudges of the previous generation together.
