Sparkle Love Episode 7 Recap
> Sparkle Love Recap
The episode begins with students gathered around a bulletin board, where an announcement reveals that Fan Zengxiang, the former chairman of the Students' Association Union, has been removed from his post and fined for embezzling public funds. Following this, with the teacher's signed approval, Mei Weiwei finally receives the opportunity to establish her club. Afterwards, Mei Weiwei is heard thanking Peng Pai for his assistance.
Meanwhile, Mai Sichong, still at the hospital, is annoyed that Mei Weiwei hasn't sent him a thank-you message. The doctor informs Mai Sichong's mother that while his recovery is progressing, it will be challenging to fully regain his pre-injury state. Mai Sichong, however, insists he has his own methods for recovery. Just then, Jun Jun, the doctor’s daughter and Mei Weiwei's mute roommate, who is also Mai Sichong’s childhood friend, enters.
Mai Sichong’s mother expresses delight that Mai Sichong and Jun Jun are now attending the same university. She reminisces about their childhood, noting how they used to be inseparable. Though Mai Sichong claims not to remember, his mother playfully teases him about his memory. As Jun Jun prepares to return to school, Mai Sichong’s mother suggests they go together. In the car, Jun Jun appears nervous.
Mai Sichong subtly tries to inquire about Mei Weiwei's class schedule through Jun Jun, feigning disinterest by saying he's "completely not familiar with her." Before they part ways, Mai Sichong gives Jun Jun a small gift, remarking that it's "pretty cool" and "looks like me." Mei Weiwei excitedly announces to the class president and Mai Sichong that her club has been approved.
Mai Sichong, despite feeling a surge of secret pleasure, hands Mei Weiwei her gloves, which he had retrieved from the pool. He then pointedly asks who helped her deal with Fan Zengxiang, already expecting the answer. Mei Weiwei credits Peng Pai, explaining that his exposure of Fan Zengxiang was crucial for their club's successful application. Mai Sichong is visibly shocked and furious that Peng Pai has taken credit for the work he did.
Ignoring Mei Weiwei’s attempts to discuss club activities, Mai Sichong walks away in a huff, leaving the class president wondering what is wrong with him, to which Mei Weiwei simply replies, "He is crazy." Mei Weiwei and the class president begin distributing flyers for their new "Physical Massage Club." Peng Pai arrives, offering advice on where to find more students (the gym) and brings milk tea. Mei Weiwei thanks Peng Pai for his help with the club's application.
Peng Pai soon departs for work. Mai Sichong then appears, confrontational, asking why Mei Weiwei hadn't replied to his messages, to which she claims she was busy in class and "telepathically replied." He criticizes her technique, calling her "stupid." Mei Weiwei challenges him, and Mai Sichong snatches the flyers, demonstrating a more effective method. Using his charisma, he quickly recruits nearly a hundred new members for the club. Mei Weiwei thanks him, acknowledging his significant help.
Mai Sichong, however, downplays his efforts, saying he just didn't want the "idiot" (referring to Mei Weiwei) to delay his training. When they later discuss ideas for club activities, Mei Weiwei again praises Peng Pai for exposing Fan Zengxiang, reiterating his role in their club's smooth application. This further enrages Mai Sichong, who once again storms off, rejecting the class president's offer of massage tickets.
Meanwhile, Li Daixi visits a cafe hoping for a strawberry cake, only to discover Ding Yi has bought the last piece. They immediately fall into their usual bickering, with Ding Yi teasing Li Daixi about being in a bad mood and asking if she’s still fighting with her brother's girlfriend. Li Daixi vehemently denies any relation, then tells Ding Yi to "give up on Chong" because she’s "homely." Ding Yi retaliates by calling Li Daixi a "frog" and a "squirrel."
Li Daixi then asserts that she's no longer interested in Mai Sichong and warns Ding Yi not to spread gossip, as Mei Weiwei dislikes it. Their playful banter continues, with Ding Yi mockingly "rewarding" a used fork to Li Daixi. Mei Weiwei gets busy setting up the club's first event. Mai Sichong actively comes to help, leading to unintentional "physical contact" where it is hard for them to distinguish if it's due to electricity or a real reaction.
Mai Sichong criticizes the sugary drinks prepared, suggesting adding goji berries. He also teases Mei Weiwei for being short after helping her with decorations. Mai Sichong and Mei Weiwei attempt to set up a demonstration for electrical conduction. Mai Sichong, still irritated after seeing Mei Weiwei exchanging text messages with Peng Pai, accuses Mei Weiwei of lacking her own opinion and following others, specifically mentioning Peng Pai and the milk tea. Mei Weiwei finds his "yin and yang" attitude frustrating.
Mai Sichong's anger escalates, and he declares he's not in the mood. Just as he is about to reveal something about the club, he notices Mei Weiwei is in agony. She explains it's "the days that all girls have." Concerned, Mai Sichong quickly carries her on his back to her dormitory. As he puts her down, Mei Weiwei, still in pain, leans into his embrace.
Mai Sichong feels a subtle stirring within him and gently places a hand on her shoulder. At that moment, Li Daixi, who has moved back into the dorm, appears and takes Mei Weiwei inside. Later, lying in his bed, Mai Sichong reflects on the day, wondering if he was "electrified by her again," as if experiencing the feeling of love at first spark once more. The club's first "Disco dancing in a healthy way" event is a success.
The class president hosts a health lecture, inviting Ding Yi as a volunteer for a massage demonstration of the Shenshu Point. Li Daixi playfully teases Ding Yi about his kidney. Peng Pai arrives with snacks but has to leave for company overtime work. Mei Weiwei thanks him again for his help with the club, which he humbly accepts.
After Peng Pai leaves, a jealous Mai Sichong pulls Mei Weiwei aside and aggressively demands to know if there's "anything between you and Peng Pai." Mei Weiwei tries to deflect the question, but their tense argument is interrupted by two male students who joke about not seeing anything. Mortified, Mei Weiwei calls Mai Sichong "crazy" and runs away. Mai Sichong mutters to himself, concluding that Mei Weiwei must like Peng Pai due to her flustered reaction.
In another corner of the party, Li Daixi continues to bicker with Ding Yi, while Xia Rui introduces himself to Li Daixi. While the party is still ongoing, Zhang Yuxin receives a phone call from her stepmother, Wang Meiyun, who scolds her for being idle and accuses her of "stealing things from home," even bringing up her deceased mother. Zhang Yuxin angrily tells Wang Meiyun not to mention her mother.
Zhang Yuxin's father arrives home, asking about food and the missing mahogany table. Wang Meiyun complains that Zhang Yuxin irresponsibly threw away the expensive mahogany table, accusing her of trying to "tear down this home." Zhang Yuxin's father asks her what she wants. Zhang Yuxin tearfully explains that her stepmother first discarded her mother's table, then challenges her father to throw her away too if he intends to protect Wang Meiyun.
As the party winds down and students leave, Mei Weiwei and Mai Sichong are left to clean up. Mei Weiwei accidentally slips, and Mai Sichong, in an attempt to catch her, injures his knee. Unbeknownst to them, a security guard unknowingly locks the room, trapping them inside. They realize they are both without their phones; Mei Weiwei gave hers to Li Daixi, and Mai Sichong's is with Ding Yi. With no way to contact anyone, they decide to wait.
Meanwhile, Li Daixi and Ding Yi are seen eating, with Ding Yi having Mai Sichong’s phone, and Li Daixi expresses concern about the trapped pair. Trapped in the quiet, dimly lit room, a subtle, intimate atmosphere settles between Mei Weiwei and Mai Sichong. Mei Weiwei notices his injured knee and correctly deduces that he wanted her to use her electrical ability to help it heal.
Mai Sichong, surprised by her insight, then confides in her the secret of his old knee injury: it happened when he had an accident while saving a child. He recalls passing out and later being told someone saved him, leading to his sprained knee.
Mei Weiwei, in turn, shares her own long-held secret: she always considered her electrical physique a troublesome burden that never brought her good luck, until one day she used her electricity to save a person, which made her realize it was "cool." She apologizes for her past reactions when he would "babble" about her electricity, explaining she was merely nervous. Their shared vulnerabilities and secrets deepen their connection. Mai Sichong thanks her.
