> Song of the Moon Recap

Following the previous episode, Lu Li, upon discovering Bai Feng's talisman in the demon-exorcising lantern, immediately summoned her to an illusion. He confronted her about the fire at Pearl Pavilion, questioning why she harmed Liu Shao. Bai Feng initially claimed the incident was already concluded to be the grass demon's fault, but then directly admitted to wanting Liu Shao dead.

Lu Li responded that harming Liu Shao was like harming him, reminding her of their childhood promise never to indiscriminately kill innocents. He warned her that he would not hesitate to report her to their Master, who was unforgiving regardless of their relationship. Bai Feng, believing Lu Li was too emotional to follow through, dismissed his threats.

However, Lu Li asserted that he would do anything for Liu Shao, implying he would act in ways Bai Feng wouldn't want to see. As expected, Bai Feng showed apprehension and ceased troubling Liu Shao, resulting in a temporary period of peace. Lu Li then brought Liu Shao to the Moon Sword Platform, declaring his resolve to pull out the Moon Sword.

Liu Shao unhesitatingly agreed to help, understanding that one of Lu Li's motivations was to gain power to protect her from future schemes and from Ao Hen after she left the Mansion. Lu Li reiterated his promise to take her home. Liu Shao then lightheartedly requested that he not overcharge her if she continued to employ him for protection.

Lu Li responded that he would protect her until the day he could no longer protect a loved one, was no longer needed, or his life ended. He then confided a deeper reason for seeking the Moon Sword's power: to uncover his mysterious background, a quest initiated by his Master. Their intimate conversation was abruptly interrupted when Du Mingchong and his guards arrived, arresting both Lu Li and Liu Shao and escorting them to Marquis Wuyang's residence.

It was revealed that Marquis Wuyang had collapsed after attempting to refine the Emperor Herb, suffering a severe poisoning that required Captain Fang's immediate spiritual protection to guard his heart. Du Mingchong quickly accused Lu Li and Liu Shao, claiming they had poisoned the Emperor Herb they presented.

Liu Shao vehemently denied the accusation, explaining that the Marquis's well-being was crucial for her own safety, as she would be hunted by Ao Hen if she left the Mansion without his protection. She asserted her strong desire for the Marquis to live a long life. Du Mingchong dismissed their arguments, insisting the poison originated from the Emperor Herb they provided.

He stated he would have medical officers investigate the remaining herb but still held Lu Li and Liu Shao directly responsible. Both were then separated and imprisoned in the dungeon. Shortly after, Bai Feng visited Lu Li in his cell, attempting to sow discord between him and Liu Shao. She accused Liu Shao of being a burden and constantly implicating him. Lu Li, however, maintained his belief in Liu Shao's innocence.

Bai Feng retorted that innocence was now determined by Du Mingchong, then blamed Liu Shao for seducing Lu Li and causing a rift between them, vowing to make both of them regret it. A medical officer informed Du Mingchong that the poison afflicting Marquis Wuyang was extremely malicious and not of human origin. Despite Captain Fang's true essence preserving his heart, the Marquis would not last long without an antidote.

Du Mingchong, eager to prove his loyalty, offered to infuse his own true essence, but was instructed to prioritize securing the Mansion and finding the antidote. Du Mingchong, now temporarily presiding over Marquis Wuyang's Mansion, relished his newfound authority, envisioning himself as the future Lord of the Human World. Bai Feng then appeared, congratulating him and subtly threatening to expose his involvement to Captain Fang if he didn't cooperate, implying she knew his schemes.

She then presented her demands: Liu Shao was to be executed, with Bai Feng personally overseeing her disposal, while Lu Li was to be spared death and demoted to a lowly servant, as Bai Feng claimed to have unfinished matters to settle with him. Du Mingchong publicly announced the verdict: Liu Shao was declared the sole perpetrator of the poisoning, and Lu Li was deemed an innocent dupe, consequently demoted to a lowly servant.

Liu Shao was handed over to Bai Feng for immediate execution. Xue and Wang Jian reacted with shock and protest, but Wang Jian quickly silenced Xue and pulled her away, preventing further disruption. Wang Jian and Xue managed to visit Lu Li in his prison cell, informing him of Marquis Wuyang's unconscious state, Du Mingchong's effective control of the mansion, and their growing fear of Bai Feng's sinister intentions towards Liu Shao.

Lu Li, desperate to escape and save Liu Shao, instructed them to find his Master Lu Sheng, as his Master could help him. Meanwhile, Bai Feng confronted Liu Shao in her cell, fabricating a story that Lu Li had blamed Liu Shao for the poisoning, accusing her of having dealings with demons and using the Emperor Herb to murder the Marquis. Liu Shao steadfastly refused to believe Bai Feng, declaring her unwavering trust in Lu Li.

Enraged by Liu Shao's unwavering faith, Bai Feng revealed that she was Lu Li's senior disciple, that Lu Sheng was also her Master, and that she and Lu Li had grown up together, implying a deeper connection. She mocked Liu Shao's naivety for trusting Lu Li, claiming he had hidden much from her and was merely using her to pull the Moon Sword.

Liu Shao, however, maintained her belief that Lu Li had his own reasons for any secrets he kept. Driven to fury, Bai Feng openly expressed her intense hatred and desire for Liu Shao's suffering, vowing to inflict a fate worse than death upon her. Bai Feng then led Liu Shao directly to Ao Hen, offering her as a captive.

In exchange, Ao Hen presented Bai Feng with a demon energy orb, instructing her to find a way to absorb it for her own use. Bai Feng, desiring to prolong Liu Shao's suffering to spite Lu Li and He Na, requested Ao Hen not to let Liu Shao die quickly, a request Ao Hen granted.

Bai Feng then returned to Lu Li's cell, feigning concern and claiming to have persuaded Du Mingchong to release him, but only if she sealed his Qihai acupoint. Feigning pain and weakness, Lu Li allowed her to perform the procedure. Bai Feng then brought Lu Li to her room, offering him osmanthus water tower cakes she had personally made, reminding him of his childhood favorites when he was ill.

As Lu Li ate the cake, he recalled a memory of feeding leftovers to a parrot demon, which subsequently disappeared, implicitly pointing to Bai Feng's past ruthlessness. He remarked that Bai Feng hadn't changed, remaining selfish and unscrupulous in pursuing her desires. Bai Feng then checked Lu Li's Qihai, only to discover it was not sealed.

Lu Li revealed he had used his Master Lu Sheng's Psychedelic Amulet, which he had instructed Xue to deliver to him with a message for his Master, to trap Bai Feng in an illusion for one to two days, with his Master's help. Trapped, Bai Feng screamed that Liu Shao was dead, but Lu Li, sensing Liu Shao's life force through her lake bead bracelet where he had left a wisp of spiritual power, rushed to her aid.

He found Liu Shao being tormented by Ao Hen and bravely fought the demon, but was quickly overwhelmed and severely wounded. Liu Shao urged him to flee, but Lu Li refused to abandon her. Just as Ao Hen gloated over their impending doom, He Na, the Demon King in White, appeared. Ao Hen questioned He Na's intervention, noting that he had already been allowed to rescue his Aquatic Demon clan.

He Na declared Lu Li and Liu Shao as his friends. Ao Hen, reminding He Na that on land he was the king, challenged He Na's ability to protect them without the advantage of water. At that crucial moment, Wang Jian and Xue arrived with a large water container.

Wang Jian dramatically claimed to use a "Ganlin Talisman" (Sweet Rain Amulet) left by his grandfather, but it was actually a "Thunder Talisman" used to create illusions of lightning, which panicked Ao Hen. Recognizing his disadvantage on land, Ao Hen retreated, vowing revenge. He Na then transported the severely injured Lu Li and Liu Shao to the Aquatic Demon realm for healing. Back at Marquis Wuyang's Mansion, Wang Jian and Xue were caught by Du Mingchong.

They fabricated a story about venturing into the demon realm to find clues for Marquis Wuyang's poison. When Wang Jian presented a piece of Liu Shao's clothing as proof, Du Mingchong, already convinced of Liu Shao's execution by Bai Feng, dismissed their findings and impatiently sent them away, warning them against spreading rumors that contradicted the official story. After a period of recuperation in the Aquatic Demon realm, Lu Li and Liu Shao had largely healed.

Old Tai, a renowned healer in the demon world, confirmed that Marquis Wuyang was poisoned by a malicious demon poison, most likely crafted by Ao Hen from the accumulated resentment of countless people and demons. Old Tai admitted he could not cure it. He Na then revealed to Lu Li that he was under a "Soul-Devouring Spell," indicating his time was limited.

When Lu Li suggested confronting Ao Hen for the antidote, He Na cautioned against it, noting Ao Hen's refusal to enter water and Lu Li's significant disadvantage in a land battle. Old Tai then offered a glimmer of hope: a female flower from the legendary Brahma tree, known to cure all demon poisons. However, the Brahma tree had been dead for ten thousand years, and its flower, the Phoenix Eye Lotus, existed only in oral legends. With Marquis Wuyang's life hanging by a thread and only five days left, Lu Li and Liu Shao were desperate to find a way to make the ancient tree bloom.
