Reset Episode 1 Recap
> Reset Recap
In the quiet city, bus No. 45 was running smoothly when a woman’s urgent voice suddenly rang out. She wanted to call the police—there was a bomb on the bus. Her name was Li Shiqing. Not long after, the bus exploded violently while heading toward the bridge. Opening her eyes, Li Shiqing found herself back on the bus. Her eyes were filled with panic.
The boy sitting next to her noticed the sweat on her forehead and kindly offered her a tissue, but Li Shiqing suddenly grabbed his hand like a madwoman and accused him of being a pervert, demanding the driver turn around and report to the police. The passengers on the bus tried to help her but no one was willing to go to the police station with her.
Left with no choice, Li Shiqing asked the driver to stop the bus and pulled the boy off with her. After getting off, she let out a sigh of relief and apologized to the boy before walking back. But just then, a loud bang sounded behind her, and in her panic, she was hit by a motorcycle and fell to the ground.
Waking up again on a hospital bed in the emergency room, she was only told she had a mild concussion. Meanwhile, the boy who had been affected by the explosion after leaving by taxi was brought into the hospital, covered in blood. Seeing his tragic state, Li Shiqing was deeply pained. Zhang Cheng, the deputy captain of the criminal investigation unit, arrived at the scene.
The accident had been caused by a food delivery scooter suddenly changing lanes, resulting in a major traffic incident. Ten people were originally on the bus, but only eight bodies were found. Surveillance footage showing Li Shiqing pulling the boy off the bus midway caught Zhang Cheng’s attention. The police came to the hospital to question Li Shiqing. She had originally planned to go to a bookstore downtown, but she couldn’t remember why she got off the bus midway.
When questioned by the police, she vaguely said it was because of heart discomfort and that a boy helped her call an ambulance. But as her memory gradually returned, she changed her story and said she encountered a pervert. Zhang Cheng came to see Li Shiqing and showed her the surveillance footage. Seeing the boy who got off with her, Li Shiqing began to remember and muttered that she had caused his death.
Watching her retch in disgust, Zhang Cheng tried to open a water bottle with his right hand but switched to his left due to pain. After asking his subordinates to leave, his gentleness finally made Li Shiqing lower her guard. She confessed—she was caught in a dream within a dream. That day, she boarded bus No. 45 at the school’s north gate and sat next to a boy near the rear door.
Feeling drowsy, she fell asleep on the bus but was awakened by the ring of an old-fashioned cellphone. A flash of blinding light followed, her face burned, and then her body suddenly felt light, as if floating. When she opened her eyes again, she was still on the bus. Just as she thought it was a dream, the same ringtone rang again, and this time, she clearly saw the bus below her explode.
Outside the room, the young officer Jiang Feng received news that the boy who had sat next to Li Shiqing was named Xiao Heyun, and he was now being resuscitated in the same hospital. Hearing Li Shiqing’s words, Jiang Feng angrily accused her of making things up. Although Zhang Cheng remained calm, he didn’t believe her either—but he still encouraged her to continue.
On the third and fourth loops, Li Shiqing tried to force her way off the bus, but each time ended in an explosion. Until the fifth time, Li Shiqing tried a different method. She cried out that she had heart problems and begged the driver to take her to the hospital. However, the nearest clinic was across the bridge, and all the passengers wanted to help by taking her there.
Only Xiao Heyun suggested calling 120 and volunteered to go with her. But the woman in the front row gave her some medicine instead. Though she didn’t get off the bus, she witnessed the entire crash—how the bus swerved to avoid the delivery rider and crashed into a fuel truck.
Li Shiqing gave an accurate account of how the bus swerved and crashed, astonishing Zhang Cheng, who promptly asked his subordinates to investigate whether Li Shiqing could have had any contact with the scene beforehand. She continued describing the sixth loop. This time, Xiao Heyun accidentally bumped into her chest while reaching for a tissue, so she yelled that he was a pervert and used that to get off the bus.
She didn’t know why the driver agreed to let her off, but she pulled Xiao Heyun with her to save him. Zhang Cheng received word that Xiao Heyun, who was being resuscitated in the hospital, was nearing death. At the very moment his heart stopped, Xiao Heyun suddenly woke up on the bus. Thinking it was just a nightmare, he looked over and saw a sleeping Li Shiqing beside him.
