Just as Nan Yan was telling Yin Ya to trust Ji Yang, guards suddenly came in from outside. Since the captain had died from poison, everyone suspected Nan Yan was the murderer. Originally, Yin Ya wanted to point the clue towards demonic energy, but Nan Yan immediately interrupted Yin Ya, clearing Ji Yang of suspicion, but bringing trouble upon herself.

The guards questioned her about treating the captain and selling a special medicine, claiming this medicine was the physical evidence that killed the captain. After Nan Yan was arrested, Yin Ya angrily ran to confront Ji Yang, calling him by name repeatedly which thoroughly angered the other party. But when Yin Ya mentioned that Nan Yan was suffering because of him, Ji Yang immediately let Yin Ya go.

Hearing that Yin Ya was going to announce his demonization to the public, he reminded him that once he said it out loud, Nan Yan might be in greater danger for shielding him. At this moment, Nan Yan was still being questioned by the guards. Nan Yan stated that the withered grass had already been given to the captain, but the coroner identified that the captain died from the poison of Zhu Xin Sha.

For this reason, the guards locked Nan Yan in the heavenly prison, convinced she was the murderer. Just as they were about to lay hands on her, Ji Yang suddenly appeared, injured the guards, and rescued Nan Yan. Yun Nian asked Mu Zhanting about Nan Fangzhu's previous residence. Mu Zhanting, feeling guilty, had no choice but to tell her the truth, and he begged her not to tell Mu Zhanting about the poetry gathering last time.

Although Yun Nian didn't agree immediately, she had an idea in her heart. She deliberately made things difficult for Mu Zhanting to make him retreat from the difficulty and voluntarily break off the engagement. Afterwards, Ji Yang took Nan Yan to hide in a barrier.

He found Yin Ya searching for Nan Yan outside, and Yin Ya loudly called out that Nan Yan should open her eyes and see clearly that the person beside her was not Ji Yang at all, but possibly a demon cultivator who had taken on his form. Nan Yan firmly believed in Ji Yang's identity and would not let others know about his demonization. Instead, she reminded him not to act so recklessly in the future.

Since the most important task at hand was to investigate the cause of the captain's death, Ji Yang told Nan Yan that the captain had met with him before. But when he went to the captain's office, he found the captain had already died violently. Nan Yan suddenly thought that someone might grind Zhu Xin Sha into a hairpin, which meant the murderer was very likely a woman.

On the other side, Mu Guanghan asked his son how he was getting along with Yun Nian. Mu Zhanting could only answer with a straight face, but to escape the marriage, he lied that he wanted to establish his career before settling down and achieve great things. Hearing his son say this, Mu Guanghan was greatly relieved and immediately decided to hand over the management of the whale boat to Mu Zhanting.

Ji Yang and Nan Yan investigated around the whale boat, replaying the truth. They discovered that the captain knew Nan Yan was investigating the Yin, Ji Yang and Nan Yan set a trap, allowing Yuan Feng to steal items and place them at the scene. Yuan Feng brought the real culprit, Zhao Meiji. As expected, seeing she couldn't deny it, Zhao Meiji wanted to perish with everyone. Fortunately, Nan Yan and the others were prepared early.

Mu Zhanting appeared in time to take over the management of the whale boat, saving it from sinking into the sea. When Mu Zhanting saw Nan Yan and Yin Ya again, he was very happy. But when he saw the living Ji Yang, he was instantly surprised and delighted, and rushed forward to hug Ji Yang. However, Ji Yang found Mu Zhanting's behavior strange and didn't bother to respond, instead walking to Nan Yan's side.

Afterwards, the four of them discussed how to deal with Zhao Meiji. Since Zhao Meiji was instructed by Tian Xie Dao, it was once again related to demon cultivators. Mu Zhanting discovered that Ji Yang had lost his past memories, so he kept talking about Ji Yang in his ear, which made Ji Yang very impatient. He repeatedly emphasized that he was not Ji Yang at all.

Mu Zhanting learned about Meng Zhiguang's death, and immediately felt inspired, writing a decent short poem to commemorate his former master. Since Yin Ya had a heavy heart and was downcast, Mu Zhanting comforted him in his own way. In contrast, Ji Yang and Nan Yan asked Yuan Feng about their transaction plan. Yuan Feng confessed everything, and Ji Yang gave Yuan Feng a sum of money, saying he would release the news that Yuan Feng was dead and told him to go to Yangyue Town to live anonymously and start a new life.
