Director Qu expressed his dissatisfaction with Li Shengsi, noting that he had warned Chris when Li Shengsi was hired. Qu Zhonghui believed Li Shengsi merely sought a safe transition into retirement and would not contribute substantially to the company. He confided in Ding Libo, stating that within the New Business Division, Ding Libo was the only person he could truly count on.
He then gifted Ding Libo a fine bottle of wine, remarking that both wine and people need someone who values them. Hao Shuai was eagerly anticipating the upcoming weekend team-building event, displaying a map of the Moon River Resort and detailing plans for relaxation, rowing, and swimming. However, his enthusiasm was met with disinterest from Sun Yiqiu, Gao Sicong, and Lan Qianyi, whose minds were preoccupied with work.
Gao Sicong mentioned an important client's reply was due the next day, making it hard for him to sleep, while Lan Qianyi lamented that the team building ruined her plans to work through the holiday. Sun Yiqiu added that he didn't partake in any of the activities Hao Shuai suggested.
Wu Kezhi offered Sun Yiqiu a ride home, much to the envy of Gao Sicong, Lan Qianyi, and Hao Shuai, who recognized it as a perk of being with a leader. Wu Kezhi clarified that he was not doing it specifically for Sun Yiqiu, as it was his older son's birthday, and the restaurant was on the way. Sun Yiqiu awkwardly wished his son a happy birthday.
Wu Kezhi then handed Sun Yiqiu a gift, explaining it was a reward for his commendable work on the private cinema project. He retracted his previous statement about fake hope being the biggest trap, acknowledging that the current Sun Yiqiu deserved "this much of hope." Sun Yiqiu was deeply moved by this small glimmer of hope, recalling Wu Kezhi's earlier harsh words about him being a "trash project."
He pondered what hope truly was and why it compelled people to risk everything without expecting a return, comparing it to strong liquor that could intoxicate with just a little. Later, as Wu Kezhi’s wife packed his bags, their son excitedly played with a ribbon, claiming it was his birthday gift from his dad. This made Wu Kezhi realize with alarm that he had accidentally swapped gifts, giving his son's present to Sun Yiqiu and vice versa.
Meanwhile, Sun Yiqiu, upon opening his gift, found a child's water cup, leaving him puzzled. At home, Ding Libo was drinking alone, disheartened that his wife had no intention of returning and his child might no longer remember him. Qu Zhonghui, who had called him, told Ding Libo he didn't like to comfort people as it was for the weak, but expressed his belief that Ding Libo would become strong in both work and life.
He encouraged Ding Libo to strive, assuring him that once he was promoted to general manager, his wife would regret her decision. The next day, on the bus to the team-building event, most employees were drowsy. Hao Shuai woke a sleepy Gao Sicong, who admitted he had only slept for a few hours. Hao Shuai then took a group photo with Gao Sicong, Lan Qianyi, and Sun Yiqiu.
After arriving at the Moon River Resort, Li Shengsi revealed that it was his first tourism project and encouraged everyone to enjoy themselves. Hao Shuai attempted to keep his group of four together for rowing, but Manager Yin and Chief Su overheard his plans and insisted on joining them, snatching the map from Hao Shuai.
Sun Yiqiu quickly became popular among his colleagues, with various teams trying to recruit him for activities like fishing, hiking, or barbecue, much to Gao Sicong's astonishment. Lan Qianyi suggested going swimming with Sun Yiqiu. However, Jiang Nan called Gao Sicong aside, informing him about issues with a reply letter that needed immediate revision. Gao Sicong told Lan Qianyi to go ahead, promising to join them later, thus leaving Sun Yiqiu and Lan Qianyi to go swimming.
At the swimming pool, Manager Ma angrily confronted the Energy Division, yelling that clients were calling him while they were having fun. Lan Qianyi quickly stepped forward, offering to handle the urgent matter on the spot by reading the email and resolving the problem. As Jiang Nan and Gao Sicong worked on the document, Gao Sicong found himself distracted, his thoughts drifting to Lan Qianyi.
Jiang Nan noticed his wandering attention and sternly told him to focus on the work, reminding him that he had chosen to stay and work, so he should finish it quickly. Yu Wenli arrived with her daughter, Xiao Xiao, who preferred playing with her dolls. Yu Wenli commented on Wu Kezhi's ability to balance work and family, admiring how he managed to spend time with his two sons despite their demanding schedules.
Wu Kezhi claimed to have a "special secret," which he attempted to use on Xiao Xiao by startling her, but it only made her angry. He noted that his sons loved it, but Yu Wenli observed it wouldn't work on her. When Sun Yiqiu arrived, Xiao Xiao immediately brightened, happily asking "Uncle Qiu" to lift her up. Sun Yiqiu then helped Xiao Xiao introduce her dolls, Polka and Olio, to Yu Wenli, making the atmosphere cheerful.
Later, Gao Sicong received a text message from Hao Shuai inviting him to a real-life Counter Strike game. He looked at the pile of documents on the table with a sigh. Jiang Nan also received a message about the group activity and prepared to leave. Gao Sicong hesitantly asked about the revisions, but Jiang Nan assured him that he had checked the document and found no problems, promising to review it again that night before sending it to the client.
Jiang Nan praised Gao Sicong's improvements, prompting Gao Sicong to quickly agree to join the game. For the Counter Strike game, Hao Shuai and Gao Sicong were assigned to Team A, while Sun Yiqiu and Lan Qianyi were in Team B along with Yin Sheng Chao and Jiang Nan. Hao Shuai, intent on ambushing the other team, broke the rules by climbing a tree, asking Gao Sicong to hold his gun.
Gao Sicong warned him it was dangerous and against the rules, but Hao Shuai dismissed the rules, declaring he was fine with losing as long as Yin Sheng Chao was "eliminated." During the game, Jiang Nan quickly shot Gao Sicong out, praising his "improvement" ironically. Hao Shuai later avenged Gao Sicong by shooting Yin Sheng Chao. Wu Kezhi and Li Shengsi took a walk together.
Li Shengsi sought Wu Kezhi's insights into Qu Zhonghui's character, but before Wu Kezhi could answer, Qu Zhonghui joined them. Wu Kezhi attempted to excuse himself, but Qu Zhonghui seemed displeased, and Li Shengsi insisted they all go for a drink at his place. In the game, Yin Sheng Chao, out of bullets, used Sun Yiqiu as a human shield against Hao Shuai. Hao Shuai, reluctant to shoot Sun Yiqiu, urged him to get out of the way.
Yin Sheng Chao, however, pressured Sun Yiqiu to shoot. Sun Yiqiu accidentally fired, hitting Hao Shuai, who then announced he was out of the game. Later that evening, Gao Sicong, still contemplating his place, hesitantly asked Jiang Nan if he was free to have a drink together. Jiang Nan surprisingly agreed, stating he wanted to hear what Gao Sicong had learned from his job. At dinner, Sun Yiqiu, Gao Sicong, Lan Qianyi, and Hao Shuai were separated by different groups.
Sun Yiqiu was constantly called upon to drink, showing his newfound popularity. Hao Shuai jokingly complained to Sun Yiqiu that he caused his loss in the CS game, as he was distracted and attacked multiple times. Gao Sicong, observing Sun Yiqiu's popularity, felt envious and wanted to understand why he felt he was "losing." Jiang Nan assured him he hadn't lost, but merely thought others were moving faster.
He explained that in the journey to become an investment consultant, Gao Sicong had learned just as much as anyone else. Jiang Nan emphasized that glory and applause belonged to projects, not consultants, who must possess patience, and asked if Gao Sicong had that patience. Gao Sicong affirmed that he did, and Jiang Nan told him to keep his word.
Meanwhile, a drunken Li Shengsi reminisced about his "unicorn" projects, attributing his success to "pure hard work" as a young man. He then paradoxically declared that "unicorns are worthless," lamenting that they couldn't cure his diabetes, fatty liver, stop his wife's nagging, or make his daughter smarter.
Qu Zhonghui interjected, calling Li Shengsi humble and overly modest, arguing that Chris wouldn't have gone to such lengths to make him the new leader of the New Business Division if he wasn't outstanding. Li Shengsi, however, insisted that Chris merely wanted his fame and that he was only there for the company's image.
He then proclaimed that King Capital's future would not rely on "old men like us" but on "young and capable frontliners like Ke Zhi," praising Wu Kezhi as an outstanding, capable, genuine, and relentless young man who could "drink a lot." After Li Shengsi was escorted away due to his inebriation, Qu Zhonghui turned to Wu Kezhi, asking if he also believed Li Shengsi was "unreliable" and if he had guessed his true purpose for joining the company.
Qu Zhonghui suggested that for Team Four to truly grow, Wu Kezhi needed "someone to support your team." Wu Kezhi responded with a wry smile, stating that his team "has always been on our own."
