Worried about Zhao Yujin moving out and fearing Ye Zhao might bully him, Zhao Taifei weeps. Zhao Wangfei comforts her, noting Ye Zhao's recent obedience to Zhao Yujin and suggesting that the move will help Zhao Yujin grow, eventually easing Zhao Taifei's concerns. Zhao Yujin, Ye Zhao, and their entourage soon relocate to the new mansion. Zhao Yujin designates Changfeng Courtyard for himself and Lingshuang Pavilion for Ye Zhao.
Mei Niang and Xuan'er, vying to live closer to Ye Zhao, get into a dispute. Annoyed, Zhao Yujin threatens to send them to Wuyuexuan, but they refuse, revealing their true desire to be near Ye Zhao. Ye Zhao intervenes, assigning Mei Niang to Wuyuexuan and Xuan'er to Tinghuaxiaoyuan, which they readily accept. Inside Lingshuang Pavilion, Qiu Shui and Qiu Hua are busy with arrangements.
Zhao Yujin enters, excitedly showing off his new official uniform, made by court embroiderers, and asks Ye Zhao if he looks good. Ye Zhao naturally praises him, but Zhao Yujin, distrusting her judgment, asks Qiu Shui and Qiu Hua. Prompted by Ye Zhao's stern gaze, they reluctantly offer compliments, only to follow them with mocking remarks that infuriate Zhao Yujin, who storms off.
After his departure, Ye Zhao scolds Qiu Shui and Qiu Hua, declaring her man handsome and forbidding them from bullying him. On his first day as an Imperial Censor, Zhao Yujin is initially annoyed by Old Yang Head's lengthy report until he learns Old Yang Head spent nights removing his past misdeeds from official records. His attitude softens.
Later, during a street patrol, Zhao Yujin, attempting to assert authority, tries to arrest some familiar ruffians, but they ridicule him, forcing him to back down temporarily. Suddenly, firecrackers are thrown, startling Zhao Yujin's horse, causing him to fall. Hu Qing swiftly appears, catching Zhao Yujin before he hits the ground. However, Zhao Yujin, thinking he's being taken advantage of, reflexively slaps Hu Qing. To apologize, Zhao Yujin treats Hu Qing to drinks at Xinghualou.
Zhao Yujin asks why Hu Qing, despite his abilities, serves as a mere strategist under Ye Zhao instead of pursuing an official career. Hu Qing recounts the tragic night Ye Zhao lost both parents: her mother died from injuries while being evacuated by Hu Qing, and her father, on his deathbed, entrusted Ye Zhao with the family's Jiaolong sword and military flag.
Overwhelmed by this immense loss, Ye Zhao suffered greatly, leading Hu Qing to vow to stay by her side. Misinterpreting Hu Qing's deep loyalty as romantic affection for Ye Zhao, Zhao Yujin mistakenly concludes that Hu Qing is in love with Ye Zhao. He then decides he must not treat Ye Zhao "too well," fearing he would disrupt their "relationship."
Reluctant to continue his patrol, Zhao Yujin asks Old Yang Head for a way to be dismissed, but his subordinates forcibly put him back on his horse. Meanwhile, Ye Zhao, under the pretext of preparing for Yi Nuo's arrival, secretly brings Qiu Lao Hu to observe Zhao Yujin. Passing Baohetang, Zhao Yujin dismounts upon hearing a couple, Zhang Dabao and his wife, loudly accusing the clinic of malpractice, claiming their son Sanlang's condition worsened after treatment.
Suspecting foul play, Zhao Yujin holds an impromptu hearing. Old Yang Head suggests calling another doctor for a second opinion. Zhao Yujin summons Imperial Physician Meng Xingde. Meng Xingde arrives and examines Sanlang, concluding that the worsening condition is indeed related to the prescription, though not fatal, and advises sustaining the child with ginseng before administering further medicine. Zhao Yujin orders Baohetang to cover all medical expenses. The clinic's quick agreement raises Zhao Yujin's suspicion, leading him to investigate further.
A subsequent search uncovers fake medicine at Baohetang. Zhao Yujin orders the clinic staff arrested and sent to Kaifeng Fu, effectively closing the case. Outside, Zhao Yujin spots a shifty Qiu Lao Hu. Though Qiu Lao Hu stutters an excuse, Zhao Yujin, understanding that Qiu Lao Hu was with Ye Zhao who had slipped away, playfully invents a plausible reason for Qiu Lao Hu's presence, allowing him to save face.
