New Life Begins Episode 36 Recap
> New Life Begins Recap
Before they could find a way forward, Li Wei and her group encountered mountain bandits. They abandoned their carriage and hid in the bushes. The bandits found a bag of treasure on the carriage and excitedly prepared to leave. Unexpectedly, Jade Bottle sneezed, alerting the bandits. In desperation, Li Wei threw chili powder in their faces. In the chaos, she became separated from the others. Upon hearing this, Yin Zheng was both furious and anxious.
He shouted at everyone and sternly ordered the Fourth Prince to send more men to search the mountain. Meanwhile, Li Wei escaped to a forest and, seeing candlelight in the distance, rushed over for help—only to find she had walked into the bandits’ lair. Soon, Yin Zheng tracked down the house but found no sign of Li Wei. Learning that she had escaped, he rushed out to search. Elsewhere, Li Wei stumbled in panic, and her firestarter was barely burning.
The sounds of wild animals echoed from the woods. Overwhelmed, she finally broke down in tears. Just as she thought her end had come, a blazing torch appeared in the distance. Yin Zheng emerged from the light and carried Li Wei home. After returning, the couple pieced everything together and suspected the Fourth Prince’s family was behind it. As they discussed this, the Fourth Prince arrived. Yin Zheng, face dark with anger, was ready to beat him.
Li Wei held his hand to calm him. Swallowing his fury, Yin Zheng asked the Fourth Prince to speak outside. He warned him not to drag the inner court into political disputes or he wouldn’t let it go. Meanwhile, Yin An, upon receiving Yin Zheng’s letter, decided to offer his help. While Lord Xinchuan inspected the relief efforts, Yin An took the opportunity to speak well of Yin Zheng.
That day, Lady He summoned An Xiyuan to the palace to copy scriptures. An Xiyuan declined, citing her pregnancy, but Lady He had already arranged four imperial physicians. Realizing she couldn’t refuse, An Xiyuan sat down to copy. After returning, she flew into a rage and threw her hairpin to the ground. She then wrote to the Fourth Prince, informing him of the incident. The Fourth Prince immediately decided to return to the palace.
Before leaving, he heard that Yin Zheng was gravely ill and schemed to have Magistrate Chu detain all the doctors. The local doctors in town were unreliable, and no reply had come from the palace. As Yin Zheng’s condition worsened, Li Wei grew more anxious and had to rely on folk remedies from her hometown. Upon hearing of this, the townspeople brought fruits, vegetables, and medicinal herbs to help.
Perhaps their prayers were heard, as Yin Zheng finally woke up after days of unconsciousness. Back at the palace, rumors spread that Lord Xinchuan had abandoned Yin Zheng. Lady He tearfully requested an audience to ask him directly. Upon hearing this, Lord Xinchuan was furious and ordered an immediate investigation. Lady He then pleaded with him to send imperial physicians to Canghe, revealing that Yin Zheng was gravely ill with no one to treat him.
Lord Xinchuan was shocked and quickly realized the truth. He closed his eyes tightly, struggling to contain his fury. But when he opened his eyes again, the pent-up energy suddenly burst out all at once, making him extremely uncomfortable. Things are finally moving in a positive direction. The common people are free from the cold disaster, and Yin Zheng's condition has improved. The white snow now looks very beautiful.
Lord Xinchuan praised Yin Zheng in front of everyone and hinted to the fourth prince that it is the greatest virtue to be able to correct one's mistakes. The fourth prince was immediately thrown into a panic upon hearing the underlying meaning of the Lord Xinchuan's words.
