Never Say Goodbye Episode 32 Recap
> Never Say Goodbye Recap
Zheng Ke diligently worked to pinpoint the IP address of the video call between Congtou and Xiaoyue. As Congtou continued to speak to Xiaoyue, Glasses grew impatient and attempted to seize the laptop, but Congtou shielded it, pleading for a few more moments with Xiaoyue. Glasses begrudgingly granted him one more minute. During this brief extension, Zheng Ke successfully located the IP address in Yungang City, specifically at the common border of the southern suburbs and Meng County.
Li Ruosheng, upon learning of the successful trace, lauded the "expert" (Mu Qing's contact) and expressed happiness for Congtou and Xiaoyue to potentially reunite. Glasses pressed Congtou to discuss their partnership, calling Congtou a romantic, but Congtou voiced his frustration and fear. He pointed out the fates of Dakun and Tieguanyin, emphasizing the dangers of their line of work and begging Glasses for a way out.
Glasses, however, remained firm, explaining that in their world, one must keep running like a deer pursued by a hunter; to stop or look back means death. Rong Yao reported to Director Liu that Glasses had kidnapped Xiaoyue to force Congtou to remain in Group K, indicating Congtou's intention to leave the organization. Rong Yao believed that arresting Congtou, a "romantic," would compel him to reveal Group K's criminal evidence and potentially become a witness.
Director Liu agreed to the arrest but prioritized Xiaoyue and her unborn baby's safety, instructing Rong Yao and Task Force 84 to rescue them before apprehending Congtou. Mr. Ou instructed Glasses to keep a close watch on Congtou and Xiaoyue. He shared his intention to let them live a peaceful life once the deal with Spectre was secured and the business stabilized, viewing it as repayment for his decade-long association with Congtou. Glasses appeared contemplative.
Meanwhile, Li Ruosheng informed Congtou that he and Mu Qing had found Xiaoyue's location but warned that a direct rescue was too risky due to the heavy guard. Mu Qing then interjected, assuring Congtou he had a plan. Xiaoyue, upset by her confinement, indulged in overeating, and Glasses's subordinates dared not stop her, ordering more braised pork. Mu Qing and his team, who had been monitoring the villa where Xiaoyue was held, seized an opportunity when a food delivery arrived.
Mu Qing, disguised as a delivery person, slipped a note into the takeout bag. Xiaoyue discovered the note, which instructed her to take a walk in the villa's woods after five minutes. She read it in the bathroom, then flushed it away. Following the instructions, she stepped out, and Mu Qing and Li Ruosheng quickly subdued the guards accompanying her. Congtou, on a phone call, instructed Xiaoyue to go with Mu Qing, reassuring her that they would be reunited soon.
Glasses was furious when he received news of Xiaoyue's escape, and Mr. Ou ordered him to resolve the situation immediately. Glasses angrily led his men to search Li Ruosheng's residence. Li Ruosheng and Congtou feigned ignorance during the search, claiming to have been drinking and playing cards all morning. After finding no trace of Xiaoyue, Congtou mockingly warned Glasses to take good care of her, or he would make Glasses regret it.
Glasses reported back to Mr. Ou, stating his suspicion that Mu Qing and Li Ruosheng were behind the rescue, citing their earlier "brothers turning against each other" act as a fabrication. Mr. Ou agreed to Glasses continuing the investigation into them but reiterated that finding Xiaoyue was the top priority. Xiaoyue was brought to Ou Kexin's studio.
Upon learning that Ou Kexin was Mr. Ou's daughter, Xiaoyue initially wanted to leave, but Ou Kexin reassured her, emphasizing their distinct identities, and Xiaoyue agreed to stay for the time being. Later, Congtou, having hired a boat at Yangwan Pier, called and impatiently demanded that Mu Qing bring Xiaoyue to him immediately, promising to fulfill his commitments. Mu Qing, however, warned him that Glasses's surveillance made it impossible to move Xiaoyue without risking an ambush.
Mu Qing and Ou Kexin discussed the situation, concluding that sending Xiaoyue away would be too dangerous, risking her safety if Glasses's men intercepted Congtou. They decided to keep her at the studio for now. Congtou called again, sounding desperate and threatening to come get Xiaoyue himself if she wasn't brought. Xiaoyue, hearing this, tried to leave, but Mu Qing intervened, explaining the dangers posed by Glasses's widespread spies.
Xiaoyue accused them of using her, just like Glasses, to manipulate Congtou. Mu Qing retorted that they were protecting her, and leaving now would only lead to both her and Congtou drowning. Xiaoyue, after much hesitation, decided to remain at the studio. Glasses's subordinates reported a suspicious yacht rented by Congtou's friend at the pier, suspecting Congtou might be trying to trick them.
Mr. Ou instructed Glasses's men that if Xiaoyue appeared, both she and Congtou were to be brought back, but if she didn't, Congtou was not to be disturbed. Mr. Ou then gave Glasses permission to continue monitoring Mu Qing and Li Ruosheng, specifically to gather leverage related to Congtou for the upcoming Spectre deal. Meanwhile, Ou Kexin suggested to Mu Qing that they should hand Xiaoyue over to Rong Yao, but Mu Qing deemed it too risky.
He stressed the importance of securing Congtou's supply of goods, as it was crucial for him and Li Ruosheng to take down Glasses and eventually meet Spectre. Xiaoyue, who had been nearby, overheard this conversation, which solidified her belief that Mu Qing and Ou Kexin were also using her for their own objectives. Mu Qing advised Congtou to test Glasses's surveillance by having another woman pose as Xiaoyue and attempt to leave from the pier.
Congtou followed the plan, and the decoy was indeed apprehended by Glasses's men. Mu Qing then instructed Congtou to use this incident to accuse Glasses in front of Mr. Ou, aiming to have Glasses's surveillance removed. Congtou confronted Mr. Ou and Glasses, demanding Glasses's subordinate kneel and admit his actions. Congtou explained Mu Qing’s strategy and vehemently denied any intention to escape, swearing his loyalty to Mr. Ou for their years of brotherhood.
He passionately demanded Xiaoyue’s return, reminding Mr. Ou that his girlfriend was pregnant with his son and her life was in Glasses's hands. Mr. Ou, however, questioned Congtou's honesty, asking about the yacht waiting at the pier and the woman who was just caught. Congtou then swore to Mr. Ou by the gods that if he was trying to run, he wished to die a horrible death, struck by lightning.
