My Heart Episode 6 Recap
> My Heart Recap
Lu Qingqing, Lu Yunxi, and Jin Ruchang were called to the stage as the top three candidates for Crown Princess. Lu Qingqing was surprised to hear her name announced. The Crown Prince stepped forward to present the embroidered ball, the final step in choosing his consort. While Lu Yunxi smiled shyly, and the Empress and Lord Lu looked on with approval, the Crown Prince unexpectedly presented the embroidered ball to Lu Qingqing.
Lu Qingqing, in turn, immediately tried to hand it to Lu Yunxi, stating it should rightfully go to her elder sister, who had scored the highest. Other candidates remarked on their "wonderful sisterhood," but Lu Yunxi refused, asserting that the Crown Prince had made his choice. The Crown Prince confirmed that the embroidered ball in Lu Qingqing's hand meant she had achieved the highest score.
He then formally announced Lu Qingqing, the second young lady of the Lu Mansion, as the Crown Princess, praising her tender and gentle nature, virtuous and dignified character, kindness, and beauty. Following the announcement, Nangong Yixin, claiming to feel unwell, promptly left the premises. Lu Qingqing, still reeling from the unexpected turn of events, expressed her utter reluctance to become the Crown Princess.
At Changqiu Hall, the Empress angrily confronted the Crown Prince for not adhering to their plan to select Lu Yunxi. The Crown Prince explained that Lu Qingqing was intelligent, lively, and capable of assisting him, and being Lord Lu's daughter, she still represented a valuable alliance. He emphasized that Lu Qingqing held great importance to him, bringing him genuine happiness, comfort, and delight.
The Empress, however, countered that as a future king, his joy should stem from the long-term stability of the country and the prosperity of its people, rather than personal feelings. Lord Lu intervened, pointing out that the selection was public and irreversible. He vowed to rigorously discipline Lu Qingqing to ensure she became a proper Crown Princess. The Empress reluctantly agreed but warned that if Lu Qingqing continued to forget her manners, she would not be lenient.
She also arranged for a nanny to be sent to the Lu Mansion to teach Lu Qingqing palace etiquette. Back at the Lu Mansion, Lu Yunxi wept, convinced that Lu Qingqing had deliberately usurped her position. Her maid, Zhenzhu, voiced concerns about the impact on Lord Lu's career, but Lu Yunxi, feeling powerless, said it was useless to speak to her father about it. Lord Lu later tried to comfort Lu Yunxi, promising to find her an even better husband.
Meanwhile, Lu Qingqing was equally distressed about her new status. Baihe tried to reassure her, suggesting that as the future Empress, Lu Qingqing would no longer be bullied and wouldn't need to steal magic power from Lord Jin. Lu Qingqing, however, still yearned for magic power and desired to be with Lord Jin.
She angrily threw away the embroidered ball, then reminisced about Nangong Yixin's tales of the No Magic Valley, with its distinct seasons, honest and hardworking people, and peaceful coexistence. She declared her preference for magic power. Nangong Yixin, having spent a sleepless night consumed by thoughts of Lu Qingqing, transformed into a bird and flew into her room. His intention was to retrieve the porcelain fox, a cherished legacy from his mother, which Xiaowu had delivered to Lu Mansion previously.
Upon opening the box, he discovered the fox was shattered. Misinterpreting this, he furiously accused Lu Qingqing of exploiting him for wealth and then callously breaking the heirloom to sever their connection, believing she viewed their interactions as a mere game. Lu Qingqing vehemently denied any knowledge of how the fox arrived in her room or how it broke, asserting that she knew it was his mother's legacy and would never intentionally harm it.
Nangong Yixin, refusing to listen to her explanations, wished her "happiness and prosperity" as Crown Princess and abruptly left, bidding her "farewell." Lu Qingqing desperately tried to stop him, pleading for him to listen. Distraught, she confided in Baihe. Baihe soon learned from a guard that the gift had been delivered while Lu Qingqing and Baihe were out. Baihe then sought out Xiaowu to clarify the situation.
Xiaowu, in turn, tried to convince Nangong Yixin that Lu Qingqing might be telling the truth, as she was not home when the gift was delivered. Nangong Yixin, however, dismissed the truth, stating that it no longer mattered since Lu Qingqing was to become the Crown Princess, and her affairs were no longer his concern. Lu Qingqing began her rigorous etiquette training under the strict supervision of the nanny sent by the Empress.
She found the constant rules stifling and reiterated her aversion to becoming Crown Princess, longing instead to see Lord Jin. Her body ached from the training, and Baihe reminded her that as the future Crown Princess, she could no longer see Lord Jin freely. Desperate to speak with him, Lu Qingqing sent a letter via carrier pigeon requesting a meeting. That evening, Nangong Yixin arrived.
Lu Qingqing explained that she hadn't broken the porcelain fox and even offered to find a skilled craftsman to repair it. Nangong Yixin gently replied that broken things, once shattered, could never truly be restored to their original state. He assured her he was no longer angry about the fox but advised her to accept her role and enjoy being the Crown Princess.
Lu Qingqing confessed that her participation in the selection was an accident, driven by a desire to watch a show and a bet with Miss Zhao. Nangong Yixin acknowledged her explanation but again urged her to fulfill her duties.
As Nangong Yixin prepared to leave for No Magic Valley, having been invited by his father, Sikong Ying, to discuss matters from twenty years ago at the Commander's House, Lu Qingqing cried out that she truly didn't want to be Crown Princess. She declared her unwavering desire to be with him, to go wherever he went. Nangong Yixin, however, bid her a final "goodbye" and departed.
The Empress and the Crown Prince soon visited the Lu Mansion to assess Lu Qingqing's progress. They found her still far from satisfactory, which enraged the Empress, who promptly left. However, the Crown Prince kindly advised Lu Qingqing to "just be yourself" and not to change, expressing his appreciation for her authentic self. Encouraged by his words and overwhelmed by the restrictive palace rules, Lu Qingqing resolved to escape the marriage and flee to No Magic Valley.
To protect Baihe and the guards from blame, she gave them sleeping powder. The next day, Lord Lu sent Lu Yunxi to supervise Lu Qingqing. Lu Yunxi discovered Baihe unconscious in Lu Qingqing's room and realized her sister had escaped. The nanny immediately rushed to inform the Empress. Lord Lu, furious, chastised Lu Yunxi for her lack of oversight. Zhenzhu attempted to defend Lu Yunxi, but Lu Yunxi angrily silenced her, venting her frustration.
The Empress was incensed by Lu Qingqing's audacious escape, berating both Lord Lu and the Crown Prince. The Crown Prince defended Lu Qingqing, suggesting she was merely overwhelmed by pressure and sought a temporary escape. Lord Lu also pleaded for a second chance for his daughter, promising to quickly find her and enforce strict discipline. The Empress, however, punished Lord Lu by deducting half a year of his magic crystal salary and ordered the immediate retrieval of Lu Qingqing.
Meanwhile, Lu Qingqing reached the "thin strip of sky," the gateway to No Magic Valley, with pursuers hot on her heels. Nangong Yixin suddenly appeared. To help her evade the guards, he transformed Lu Qingqing into a rabbit, claiming it was his "restless pet" that had broken his water glass and was now being taken to No Magic Valley for punishment. The guards, convinced, allowed him to pass. Once inside No Magic Valley, Lu Qingqing transformed back.
Nangong Yixin explained that the valley was under a magic-nullifying barrier, created by the Magic God to ensure equality, meaning no one could use magic power there. Unlike Qiyuan Continent, everyone in No Magic Valley had to rely on their own efforts. Lu Qingqing found this appealing, declaring it far more lively and fulfilling than the "monotonous" Qiyuan Continent, and expressed her desire to stay. Nangong Yixin tried to leave, stating he had fulfilled his obligation.
Lu Qingqing clung to him, reminding him she knew no one else in this unfamiliar place and begging him to take her with him. Nangong Yixin, appearing unyielding, told her their relationship was over and she would only be a hindrance, then left, repeating "goodbye." Lu Qingqing was left wondering if he was afraid of being implicated by her escape.
Alone in the bustling No Magic Valley market, Lu Qingqing enjoyed a large meal of steamed buns at a restaurant, only to realize, to her dismay, that she had no money to pay the bill.
