Wu Tianyi called Zhang Yingnan while on the way to the hospital with Li Xuemei, informing her that their dinner plans for the evening were canceled. He explained that he had encountered a pregnant woman who fell at the supermarket and was now taking her to the Third Hospital. Misinterpreting this, Zhang Yingnan grew concerned, believing Wu Tianyi had caused the pregnant woman's fall.

She quickly contacted Wu Shiyi, telling her that Wu Tianyi had "hit the pregnant woman" and was at the Third Hospital. Worried that the family might confront him, Zhang Yingnan asked Wu Shiyi to accompany her. As Wu Shiyi prepared to leave, Hou Jue, who had been sleeping on the sofa, woke up and asked where she was going.

Wu Shiyi told him she was heading to the Third Hospital and instructed him not to go anywhere, only to return home. At the hospital, Li Xuemei was found to be fine, only needing observation. She sincerely thanked Wu Tianyi for his help and apologized for past events, but Wu Tianyi dismissed it, stating that their lives, along with Wu Shiyi's, had moved on and there was no need to dwell on the past.

Soon after, Dapeng rushed in, immediately assuming Wu Tianyi had intentionally harmed Li Xuemei as an act of revenge, and became angry. Li Xuemei quickly intervened, clarifying that she had fallen accidentally and Wu Tianyi had kindly brought her to the hospital. Zhang Yingnan and Wu Shiyi then arrived. Feeling awkward witnessing the scene, they advised Dapeng and Li Xuemei to rest before departing. Outside, Dapeng approached them, offering a heartfelt apology and thanks.

Wu Shiyi, for her part, had already made peace with the past. Upon returning home, Wu Shiyi answered a call on Wu Tianyi's phone from Lawyer Zhang of Zhirong construction. The lawyer informed her that Hou Jue had reached a debt transfer agreement with Wu Tianyi's creditors, effectively transferring Wu Tianyi's debt to Hou Jue's name. Wu Shiyi, completely unaware of this, handed the phone to Zhang Yingnan, who asked the lawyer to wait while they discussed the matter.

Wu Tianyi was deeply troubled by the news. Zhang Yingnan adamantly opposed Hou Jue taking on the debt, criticizing Wu Tianyi for not learning from past mistakes and warning that accepting such a large favor would prevent Wu Shiyi from having a say in her own romantic decisions. Wu Tianyi agreed with her, acknowledging his rush. Together, Wu Tianyi and Wu Shiyi resolved to repay the debt gradually themselves.

Seeing their determination, Zhang Yingnan produced paper and pen and wrote an IOU, stating that Wu Tianyi borrowed 860,000 yuan from her, to be repaid over five years. Despite Wu Tianyi's initial reluctance, feeling he would owe her too much, he eventually signed after Zhang Yingnan threatened to withdraw her offer. Wu Shiyi was deeply moved, understanding that her mother's actions stemmed from a desire to ease her burden.

In their most challenging time, no one abandoned the other, and the bond between Zhang Yingnan and Wu Tianyi rekindled, stronger than before. Zhang Yingnan then humorously warned Wu Tianyi that the debt was now between them and he had to adhere to all his promises, or she would permanently blacklist him. Wu Tianyi happily agreed, calling her his wife, which she playfully denied.

Later, Wu Shiyi returned to her apartment to find Hou Jue there, wearing an apron, having let himself in because she hadn't locked the door. He told her he had gone home to change, stocked her empty fridge with some food, and was now ready to showcase his "ancestral craft" by cooking her a meal. Wu Shiyi then questioned him about the debt transfer, asking why he hadn't told her.

Hou Jue explained that he couldn't use company funds or borrow from his father, which led him to arrange a third-party agreement for installment payments. Wu Shiyi informed him that her father hadn't agreed, as Zhang Yingnan had stepped in to repay the debt. Hou Jue acknowledged that Zhang Yingnan handling it was indeed more appropriate than him.

Wu Shiyi still expressed her gratitude for everything he had done for her father, prompting Hou Jue to playfully ask for more praise. Wu Shiyi, feeling celebratory, suggested having some wine. Discovering they had none at home, Hou Jue decided to take her to a place where they could drink. Hou Jue took Wu Shiyi to a lively bar, where he revealed he had arranged a special performance for her: she was to sing on stage.

Wu Shiyi, embarrassed, refused, insisting she was tone-deaf and would scare people away. Hou Jue, however, was undeterred, charmingly suggesting that "beautiful people are all tone-deaf," and gently pushed her onto the stage amidst the cheering crowd. Despite her initial protests, Wu Shiyi found the courage to sing, and as she had warned, her performance was indeed off-key. Hou Jue, from below, watched with amusement, recording her on his phone.

After finishing the song, Wu Shiyi profusely apologized to the audience, admitting her tone-deafness had made her self-conscious for nearly thirty years, often avoiding social singing. However, she thanked Hou Jue for giving her the opportunity to "receive" the long-feared ridicule, realizing it wasn't as painful as she imagined. To further compensate the audience for their suffering, she suggested Hou Jue buy everyone a draft beer, to which he readily agreed.

Later that night, Hou Jue was still happily watching the video of Wu Shiyi's off-key singing. He called her, expressing his admiration for her resilience, noting how she faced so many challenges daily yet never seemed defeated or cried. Wu Shiyi clarified that he simply hadn't witnessed it, confessing she often cried when exhausted from training or after losing competitions, but always wiped her tears and returned to the field. She thanked him for the truly happy day she had.

After wishing each other goodnight, they both turned off their lights and went to sleep. The next day, Hou Jue visited an antique shop to redeem his mother's Yu Pei. To his surprise, the shop owner informed him that the Yu Pei was not in his possession. He explained that the initial transaction was a pretense, orchestrated by Hai Xing.

Hai Xing, aware of Hou Jue's financial difficulties but knowing he wouldn't accept direct help, had provided the 100,000 yuan himself and arranged with the owner to stage the pawning, fearing Hou Jue might truly lose the cherished item. The owner advised Hou Jue to retrieve his Yu Pei from Hai Xing, emphasizing that "jade is about fate; what is yours will never escape you." Meanwhile, Hai Xing was seen drinking beer during the day, much to Doll's distress.

She snatched the beer and drank it herself, confronting him about his self-destructive behavior. She passionately argued that Hou Jue and Qian Qian did not appreciate his genuine efforts, sentiments she, Doll, yearned for. She accused "rich people" of forgetting Hai Xing's kindness once they succeeded, expressing her pain at seeing him hurt. The shop owner, overhearing, gently reminded Doll to be more reserved, lest her heartfelt "confession" be dismissed as drunkenness.

He then urged both Hai Xing and Doll to set aside their arguments and focus on work. During this time, Hou Jue found a broken sock at home, which he identified as his own, bought cheaply from a stall. Despite its poor condition, he asked Zhang Jie not to throw it away, as he had an emotional attachment to it. Later, both Hou Jue and Hai Xing received an urgent rescue team alert.

Hou Jue left immediately, followed by Wu Shiyi. Unbeknownst to Hai Xing, Doll had secretly stowed away in his car. Hai Xing arrived at the rescue site first and began operations. When Hou Jue arrived, he noticed numerous new pieces of equipment, including a titanium alloy stretcher and body fixed airbags, valued at nearly 200,000 yuan. The captain informed him that a "Qian Xiaoyan" (Qian Qian) had donated them.

Hou Jue, though claiming not to know her, showed a flicker of recognition. During the rescue, Hai Xing twisted his ankle. Doll, who had been watching anxiously, rushed to his side, extremely worried, and helped him get into his car. Hai Xing warned her not to come to rescues again, emphasizing the danger. As they prepared to leave, Hai Xing's car broke down. Without a word, Hou Jue attached a tow rope to Hai Xing's vehicle.

Doll, witnessing this, accused Hou Jue of "cat crying mouse fake mercy," but Hai Xing quickly defended Hou Jue, admitting that he had wronged his brother by "cheating his father's money." After towing Hai Xing's car back to the shop, Doll tried to convince Hou Jue to come inside for a rest and to try their new dishes. Hou Jue declined, stating he had other commitments.

However, Wu Shiyi sent him a message asking him to get a portion of Hai Xing's fried rice, hinting at her concern and a desire to mend the strained relationship between the friends. Prompted by Wu Shiyi's request, Hou Jue entered the shop. A staff member offered him barbecued pork rice, claiming it was just as good, and Hou Jue accepted the alternative.
