Wei Qing held Zhou Shi close, telling her he regretted their breakup and didn't want their relationship to end. Zhou Shi was bewildered by his sudden change of heart. Twelve hours earlier, Wei Qing had tasked Dr. Chen with hypnotizing Ning Fei to uncover information about Zhou Shi. Under hypnosis, Ning Fei, when asked who he was, identified himself as Xue Ning, admitting he didn't remember being Ning Fei. He revealed that he had known Zhou Shi for two years.
He recalled that two years ago, when he rushed to save Zhou Shi from an attacker, he was overpowered, and it was actually Zhou Shi who picked up a wine bottle to strike the assailant, subduing him and saving both their lives. She sustained a severe hand injury from the shattered glass, and despite extensive rehabilitation, she could no longer hold a paintbrush. Yet, she chose a career in the art world, working tirelessly to reach her current position.
He realized that a significant part of her efforts was to repay him for a rescue she mistakenly attributed to him, when in fact, she had saved him. Xue Ning lamented his weakness that night, which led to Zhou Shi's suffering. Upon waking, Wei Qing informed Ning Fei that he was his elder brother, as Ning Fei had been adopted by Wei Qing's father, making them unrelated by blood.
Wei Qing asserted his claim over Zhou Shi, declaring her his girlfriend, and told Ning Fei to accept reality and stop pursuing her. Wei Qing then purchased all the photos Ning Fei had taken of Zhou Shi, feeling deep regret for not being by her side during her injury and letting her suffer.
Wei An told Wei Qing he should be happy because Zhou Shi's departure was due to hardships, not a change of heart, and reassured him that it wasn't too late to mend things. Back at the hotel, Zhou Shi remained confused by Wei Qing's unexplained shift in behavior. She attempted to restore their relationship to a professional one. Wei Qing, however, continued to flirt, leading Zhou Shi to accuse him of trying to take advantage.
She explained her attire was due to a coffee spill and her lipstick was simply a new shade she was testing. She reminded him that he had been the one to propose a superficial "pretend" relationship, and now he was going back on his word. To settle their disagreement, they played a game of cards. As Wei Qing was on the verge of winning, Zhou Shi declared she was pregnant, a ploy she used to secure her victory.
She insisted that, as per her win, they must maintain a strictly professional relationship. Meanwhile, Bi Qiujing, now working in Yunma Group's investment department to investigate the stalker, inquired with Rachel about who was responsible for the flowers in Li Mingcheng's office. Rachel mentioned that Ada frequently replaced the flowers in Li Mingcheng's office, speculating that Ada hoped to win over Li Mingcheng, whom she perceived as neglected by his wife due to his consistent dry-cleaning tags and limited wardrobe.
Bi Qiujing realized with a pang of guilt that she was indeed the "uncaring" wife, but noted Li Mingcheng's unwavering happiness. Just then, she received a set of candid photos from the KTV incident on her phone, which had been taken by the mysterious stalker. Bi Qiujing asked Rachel to help her. Panicked, the Manager accidentally knocked over Li Mingcheng's favorite puzzle. At that moment, the Manager's phone rang with Bi Qiujing's "sub-account" call, which exposed her as the true culprit. Finally, Bi Qiujing declared that she was Li Mingcheng's wife, a revelation that caused Rachel to nearly faint. Dr. Chen urged him to confront and accept his past, suggesting it might not be as terrible as he imagined and that understanding his forgotten two years was crucial to becoming a complete individual. Inspired, Ning Fei saw a poster of Lin Feifei and visited her home. He initially feigned memory recovery to mislead Lin Feifei. Lin Feifei rebuffed him, refusing to confuse his current self with his past. Annoyed, Ning Fei accidentally knocked over a box containing a tea bowl, a treasured keepsake of their relationship, causing Lin Feifei to break down in tears. Ning Fei, dismissive, remarked it was "just a bowl" and offered to buy her a new one before leaving in a huff. Later, Wei Qing arrived at Shangjue, insisting on discussing a partnership directly with Zhou Shi, ignoring all others.
Zhou Shi soon received an email confirming she was now the head of the Art Biennial project, and Wei Qing would be her direct contact. Puzzled by Xue Le's agreement to such an arrangement, Zhou Shi learned that Wei Qing had invested in Shangjue, leaving her with no alternative but to collaborate with him. Wei Qing openly declared that he was willing to spend money to be with her for eight hours a day, finding happiness in their shared work. Zhou Shi, accepting her fate, agreed to focus solely on their business ventures.
