Lin Feifei asked Zhou Shi if she had seen Ning Fei overseas. Zhou Shi's expression hardened, and she lied, claiming, "I haven't seen him since two years ago." Ignoring a disappointed Lin Feifei, Zhou Shi abruptly said, "I'll get going then," and left. As Zhou Shi walked, an ambulance passed, bringing her thoughts back two years. After being attacked by thugs, Ning Fei had rushed to save her, protecting her with his life.

While Zhou Shi only sustained minor injuries and woke up first, Ning Fei was severely wounded. A nurse confirmed he was seriously injured. Filled with guilt, Zhou Shi tried to leave her bed to check on Ning Fei, but a nurse insisted she stay. Zhou Shi tearfully asked, "Where's Fei? Is he okay? Please tell me." Xue Zi then entered, rebuking Zhou Shi, "Who are you to be concerned about him?"

She detailed Ning Fei's critical condition, stating, "He suffers from rib fractures and multiple external injuries. The most serious is the blunt trauma on his head, which has led to acute bleeding inside his brain. Even if his life was saved, there's likely to be an aftereffect. All this happened because he was trying to save you." Xue Zi accused Zhou Shi of being ungrateful, adding, "Does it feel good to be saved by risking someone else's life?

Do you feel like running away? I've seen many ingrates. I don't expect you to be an exception. There's one more thing that you need to know. I, Xue Zi, never make a bad investment. I'll make others pay me back tenfold for what they owe me. About Fei, a mere 'thank you' isn't going to cut it." Zhou Shi asked, "What do you want me to do?"

Xue Zi replied, "Before he recovers, I want you to stay by his side." Zhou Shi agreed, "Okay." But Xue Zi clarified, "Don't agree too soon. My condition is for you to only stay by his side. I want you to cut off all contact within this period, especially Wei Qing." When Zhou Shi questioned, "Why?" , Xue Zi directly stated, "Because I like him. Can't I separate you two?" Zhou Shi, however, saw through Xue Zi's facade. "

Stop joking, Miss Xue. You can even use your own little brother as a bargaining chip, how can you easily take a fancy on someone else? You're after Xunran's paintings, right?" She elaborated, "The ownership of the paintings is currently in my hands. But even if I want to transfer ownership, it still needs approval from the painter. With Fei's current condition, it's impossible to get ownership. You had no choice but to settle for less.

You want to lower the risk by using me. Am I right?" Xue Zi acknowledged her assessment, asking, "So? Are you trying to make a deal with me after understanding all these?" Zhou Shi firmly declined any deal, declaring, "No. I'll do it. Just like you said, I owe Fei. Before I repay him, I have no right to think for myself." Satisfied, Xue Zi concluded, "Good. Since you have such awareness, prove it to me."

For the past two years, Zhou Shi had worked for Xue Zi. Earlier, Xue Zi was on the phone, frustrated that Ning Fei was missing from the villa, instructing her staff to search everywhere, including bars and nightclubs, to find him within 12 hours. Later, when Zhou Shi arrived at Xue Zi's office, Xue Zi noted she was late with a hint of sarcasm, implying her encounter at the exhibition hotel reminded her of her past.

Zhou Shi, however, stated she was tired of their games and wanted to get straight to business. Xue Zi, disappointed that Zhou Shi hadn't met anyone she wanted to see, found it boring. Xue Zi then presented Zhou Shi with the Asian Art Biennial cooperation project, explaining that Xue Le, her brother, had failed to manage it, even getting tricked regarding the exhibition's arrangement.

She needed Zhou Shi to take over the negotiation, saying, "If I don't send my own people, how can I have control over Xue Le?" Seeing Wei Qing listed as the legal representative on the project document, Zhou Shi tried to refuse, claiming she had caught a cold in the countryside and needed a leave of absence due to a fever.

Xue Zi confirmed Zhou Shi indeed had a fever but dismissed her request, telling her to go to the hospital and then to Yunma afterward. Zhou Shi protested, reminding Xue Zi, "you made me leave him back then. There's nothing between the two of us now. Yet you're telling me to go back?" Xue Zi suggested, "What if he still misses you and wants to get back together?"

Zhou Shi insisted, "If we could get back together, I wouldn't have left back then. . . it's impossible for him and me now." Xue Zi, undeterred, countered, "Don't be so sure about that. Just use him, then. That'll work, right? Don't tell me you want me to handle him personally?"

She added that she wouldn't make things difficult for Wei Qing if he didn't ruin her plans, even allowing Zhou Shi to rekindle their relationship "as long as you can overcome what's troubling you." As Zhou Shi left, Xue Zi reminded her to look after Ning Fei, as he was "no longer the same Ning Fei" and might cause trouble if left unsupervised. Zhou Shi simply replied, "I understand."

Zhou Shi had caught a cold in the countryside and developed a fever, prompting her to visit the hospital. While there, she called Xue Zi to report that Ning Fei had been found, having spent the night at a friend's party. Xue Zi noted her hoarse voice. Zhou Shi then tried to leverage her acute tonsillitis and 38. 9-degree fever, asking the doctor if it was serious enough to affect her work.

The doctor confirmed it could lead to pneumonia if not controlled. Zhou Shi, hoping to evade the Yunma assignment, told Xue Zi on the phone, "Boss, you heard that, right? I might not be able to go to Yun. . ." However, Xue Zi didn't give her an out, and Zhou Shi even quietly asked the doctor if there was a way to prolong her illness, only to be told to take her medicine and get her shot.

It was a coincidence that Wei Qing was in the same hospital. He had been diagnosed with acute optic neuritis, referred to as "sudden blindness" in traditional Chinese medicine, caused by extreme fatigue and stress, which could lead to severe vision loss or even blindness. The doctor assured Wei An that Wei Qing would recover with proper treatment but required hospital observation.

Wei Qing accepted the diagnosis, telling Wei An to handle company matters, cancel physical meetings, and switch to conference calls. He also requested a simple keypad phone and strictly instructed Wei An not to leak information about his condition. Attempting to adapt to his blindness, Wei Qing refused Wei An's help, insisting on walking to the restroom alone with his cane. As Wei Qing was navigating the hospital hallway, Zhou Shi emerged from her consultation room.

She saw him and her heart pounded, a mix of anxiety and anticipation. She wondered if he had forgotten her and if she was now just a stranger to him. Wei Qing, unable to see her, walked past without acknowledging her presence. Overwhelmed by this perceived indifference and her fever, Zhou Shi fainted. A passerby tried to help, but Zhou Shi, still conscious, weakly said, "I'm fine." Soon after, she completely lost consciousness.

Upon waking, Zhou Shi overheard nurses discussing Wei Qing. " She's recovered from fatigue and fever," one nurse remarked. Another mentioned, "It's Wei Qing of Yunma. . . Honestly, he's pitiful. But I don't sympathize with him. . . Other than not cooperating with his treatment, he keeps pulling that long face. I would have thrown a fit if it weren't for his inability to see." Zhou Shi's heart sank upon hearing, "He can't see?"

She quickly asked where the patient usually went. Meanwhile, Wei Qing sat alone in the hospital's small park, lost in thought. He reflected on his blindness, despairing that he couldn't even conjure Zhou Shi's image anymore, believing it was time to end his obsession. He shed tears, startling a little girl nearby who then complained that her balloon was stuck in a tree. Wei Qing, trying to help despite his blindness, fumbled for the balloon.

Zhou Shi found him and retrieved it for the girl. Wei Qing thanked her, and then asked, "can you get a caretaker for me? I just started using this. I'm still not used to it." He didn't recognize her changed voice, a result of her throat inflammation. Realizing he didn't know her, Zhou Shi asked, "What's wrong with your eyes?" Wei Qing explained his acute optic neuritis, reassuring her it wasn't serious and he would recover.

Zhou Shi, wanting to maintain her disguise, then adopted a feigned aggressive tone, claiming, "There's nothing great about it. Maybe there are other illnesses that they haven't found yet." Wei Qing was confused by her hostile reaction, asking if she knew him. Zhou Shi maintained her act, saying, "You're Wei Qing, the one who's trending on the news all year long. They publish everything big and small about you. It's hard not to recognize you."

When Wei Qing mentioned being single for two years, Zhou Shi, despite herself, was surprised and pleased. " Single? You don't have a girlfriend?" Wei Qing, suspecting her true intentions, asked, "You're so interested in my personal life. Are you a journalist?" Zhou Shi denied it, saying, "No, I. . . I'm just a passerby." Wei Qing pressed further, "A passerby won't know what happened two years ago. So, which news agency you're from? Why are you approaching me?"

Before Zhou Shi could answer, Wei An arrived, calling out to Wei Qing, who admitted he was out for fresh air despite his blindness. Wei Qing then asked Wei An if he had seen a lady, mentioning she had dropped something. Wei An found Zhou Shi's phone on the ground, displaying her picture on the screen. Separately, Lin Feifei was on a film set, rehearsing a scene.

Xue Le, disguised as "Neil," a brand representative from Shangjue, was observing, playfully coaching Lin Feifei and critiquing the absurd script with sarcastic suggestions for outrageous "begging to be abused" scenarios, before dramatically announcing he was pulling his investment. As filming resumed, Ning Fei suddenly sped through the set on a skateboard, zipping past Lin Feifei. " What the heck? Are you playing a corpse?" he quipped, seemingly not recognizing her. Lin Feifei, however, immediately recognized him.

Despite being in high heels and in the middle of a scene, she chased after him, calling his name repeatedly. Ning Fei, wearing headphones, didn't hear her and disappeared. Lin Feifei not only failed to catch him but also twisted her ankle. When the crew called, she angrily declared, "I quit! Let them change the actress!" and then sat dejectedly by the roadside. Ning Fei returned to the hotel where Zhou Shi was waiting for him.

She scolded him playfully, pinching him, "That hurts. I thought you didn't know. Will you wander off again?" Ning Fei promised not to. Zhou Shi asked if he was going to install a new voice pack for his phone. He teased her, "If you don't like it, I'll change another one for you. I'll install a voice changer for you next time." Zhou Shi replied, "Did you say 'next time?' I won't do it again."

Ning Fei then asked if he knew someone, and Zhou Shi confirmed, "You can say he's your senior." Ning Fei joked, "I don't remember, and I won't acknowledge him. But listen. Even if you wanted to rekindle your relationship, can't you do it somewhere else?" Zhou Shi retorted, "What nonsense are you talking about? I didn't take the initiative to meet him. If it wasn't because his health is. . ."

Ning Fei interrupted her by playfully pinching her again, "What's wrong with his health? Test my patience again. That hurts." He also refused to take his bitter medicine for insomnia, prompting Zhou Shi to playfully ask if he wanted her to feed him with her lips. Later that evening, Xue Le, who had witnessed Lin Feifei's earlier distress, approached her. He offered antiseptic for her twisted ankle, despite her protests.

Lin Feifei, still believing him to be just a brand representative, apologized for delaying his work and offered to reimburse his overtime fees. Xue Le, however, insisted she apologize for her outburst first. When pressed for a reason, Lin Feifei vaguely claimed to have ADHD and bipolar disorder, saying she "had a nervous attack this afternoon." Xue Le dismissed her excuse, saying, "That's the worst excuse. Why don't you just say the guy who passed by is your ex-boyfriend?"

He was surprised when his guess proved correct, then quipped, "So that's the guy who used a ring to keep you trapped for two years? He now dare show himself." Lin Feifei vehemently denied it. " No, that's not him. He won't look at me like that. He won't just abandon me. You're right. That can't be him." Unbeknownst to Lin Feifei, Ning Fei had lost his memory in the accident two years ago, forgetting not only his acquaintances but also experiencing a significant personality change.
